There is a massive free exhibit that will literally take all day to see. Has several famous showcases that are a must-see. At the time of my visiting, there was a special exhibit from London going on featuring impressive and utterly gorgeous renaissance art. Special exhibits cost a small sum of money, but with how informative the exhibit was I would have happily paid even more.

Excellent museum and surprisingly extremely inexpensive. I considered it my responsibility as a parent of a partly Korean child to take my son to this museum and will be visiting every time I am here. The Museum team did an excellent job in presenting this amazing country's history in a neat and effective way in beautiful interiors. If you only have time for one museum visit during your stay, I would recommend making this museum your choice.

In conclusion, the National Museum of Korea is an extraordinary place that showcases the nation's heritage with pride and passion. It is one of the best museums around the world. Every time I visit a country, I make sure to visit the country's representative museum. And for me, the National Museum of Korea is World Class. British Museum offers a lot, but the National Museum of Korea rivals them all, especially when it comes to Aesthetics and facilities.

Must go. If you like visiting museums, this could be the only one you need to go in Seoul. However, due to its size, it will take the whole day to visit all 3 floors of exhibitions. It would be nice if you can break it down for 1 days. It is a very nice and very organized museum that’s free for all. Amazing!!!

Must go place if you are visiting Korea. 2 hr parking is 2000 won. You can request a tour by guide for free in their website ahead of time in korean, English, French, Arabic, Chinese. You need 2 days to tour the museum that has different themes ( korea, China, Japanese, Mesopotamia, east asia). Food court is a good place to rest during lunch. Don't forget to visit Korean ( hangul) historic museum next to here that is also another great great place to visit next. ( 10 min walking diatance)

Very nice museum and for free. Variety of galleries to explore the history of the dynasties in South Korea. The museum has three floors with beautiful pieces of history and art. There are plenty of places to sit around the floors.

It's a free entry museum. You need 3 to 4 hours to visit the museum. There are some shops to buy very precious soviniers from with reasonable prices with very good quality! There are three coffee shops! Enjoy your day! Be there in the morning!

Amazing structure right in the middle of the city. Free access to everyone and easily reachable by subway. Blown away by the sheer size of the surrounding area with large open spaces. If you are a resident this should be one of the quick getaways from the city life. The museum is mostly concentrated on the prehistoric aspects. Lot of educational aspects. Saw many school going children perhaps with teachers. There is also a children's museum but need to book it in advance from the websites. You should be able to book it as you reach there too. There is a coffee shop and convenience store just nearby. So food and coffee is not an issue. You can try to explore the war museum which is also nearby.

Very beautiful museum of the Korean (and Japanese, Chinese, Roman and Greek) history. Astonishing art, pottery, Buddhas, and many many more things. I really recommend you go here on your visit to Seoul. Most of the museum has free entry, except for some “special exhibitions” that charge a fee to enter, but you can have a very pleasant visit without those exhibitions.
Absolutely amazing museum that's completely FREE! Beautiful architecture and the design of the building and the pond in front is stunning. The museum contains a comprehensive historical account of Korea and also contains some international influenced exhibits/galleries of the neighboring countries/areas. The impressive digital 360 degree projection exhibit is a highlight that transforms the room that you're in and takes you to another dimension.
Very nice museum of Korean history. Lovely landscaping and scenic views to be had even before you enter. Inside, the museum itself is of a modernistic architecture and photographic in itself. The exhibitions and exhibits were very informative and I appreciated the English translations. So many amazing things to see. You can easily spend a few hours here wandering around the various floors and exploring the outside as well. They have a children's museum area as well, but we did not go to that area. You can easily get to the Museum by train. Love the Seoul train system, really easy once you've ridden it once or twice.
This is an absolutely massive world class museum. Everybody that's visiting Seoul should put time aside to come visit this place. Ichon subway station gets you inside from the station directly. Best part about this museum is that it's FREE, except the special seasonal exhibits. It's also indoors with nice AC, so an ideal place for families during Seoul's crazy hot summer days. At 8 pm they have a really nice free light show at the pagoda. Highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.
The outside area of the museum is beautiful, and the inside exhibits of Korea's history are also great if you're into history and relics! There were also multimedia displays and animations that completely transport you. A lovely place to visit, and it doesn't even require a ticket except for the special exhibit, which was on the Aztecs when I went, but was sold out, so I didn't see inside.
