Experiencia fantástica: Very complete, clean and tidy, interesting in every way, exciting for those of us who have Galician grandparents

Experiencia fantástica: Museum of the history of Galicia, a pity that we did not have time to see it in its entirety because we were short on time, but for €4 I recommend visiting this site, it is worth it

Experiencia fantástica: It is a beautiful place and much bigger than it seems in the photos.

Experiencia fantástica: The museum is large and very interesting, you learn a lot about the region. The site is very beautiful and well laid out. To do if you visit Santiago.

Experiencia fantástica: It is a museum in an old convent, it is great, it deals with the life in Galicia of the fishermen, the peasants and lost trades of forge, basket maker, people who made clogs, barrels and tanned leather. They also have models of towns, mills and orchards, it is a very complete museum of what life was like for Galicians hundreds of years ago and to finish and the most remarkable thing is a spiral staircase that is actually not one but three in the same hole that goes up parallel to each other we did not have Michelangelo but we did have a good architect if that they did not have 3.D printers or PC more than pen and not fountain pen

Experiencia fantástica: Before visiting it I saw photos and I liked them a lot, but seeing it impresses more, it's beautiful, you see things you can't even imagine, you enter and travel to the past just by seeing tools, objects, clothing,... From many years ago. It is not that I visited many museums, but this one is undoubtedly the most beautiful of the ones I saw. I recommend it to anyone who hesitates to visit it.

Experiencia fantástica: A fairly large museum, with several floors and a nice garden. A very interesting historical and tourist place that gives us a lot of information about the life of the Galician people in different stages, from the Stone Age to the present day. Good explanations, those who do not understand Galician can search for information with the help of the QR code found at the entrance. There is also a movie theater where you can see an interesting film about the different regions and some interactive stands where you can get information through a computer. There are services in the building as well. Good deal. I loved it.

Experiencia fantástica: I am so glad we visited this lovely, well-lit, spacious and clean museum during our short stay in Santiago de Compostela! We learned so much about the local culture, history and archaeology in just a couple of hours, thanks to good signs that had many translations from Galician to Spanish and English. The video of the beautiful natural scenery taken from drones, with the locations shown on the map, made me want to come back and spend much more time in A Coruna on my next visit in Spain. I wish I had asked about the history of the triple helical stairway! It was amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: It really is worth the visit. A good overview of the old tools, trades and customs of the Galician people. During the visit we can also see where Rosalía de Castro rests.

Experiencia fantástica: It is a place that surprised me a lot and for good, the price is € 4 and it is very worth it. It is very beautiful, it represents Galicia a lot, antiques and very good curiosities. It has super cool spiral staircases, I highly recommend it

Experiencia positiva: I gave this museum 3 stars mainly due to it being a little bit stuck in the past (in terms of exhibit style and general presentation) as well as for the lack of reading resources in any other language other than Galego/Gallego/Galician. I think it’s great that the museum is preserving its culture and language like this, but for foreign visitors it means we miss out on a lot of information. I also would have liked to see some representation of life in Galicia now, as well as what the future looks like for the community going forward. But that’s just my opinion. Give this museum a go if you have a spare hour or two in the city on a rainy day, but honestly there are probably more interesting sites and attractions to visit elsewhere in Santiago.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful museum in an historic building in a magic city. Worth the visit even if you are not interested in galician people, because it is situated in the ancient monastery of Santo Domingo de Bonaval, just outside city walls. It has a fantastic double spiral stairway which I think is one of the most photographed spots in Spain. It has a great number of exhibits detailing history and life in Galicia from very remote past to today, everything is well organized and explained. Fishing, clothes, woodwork and blacksmith exhibit are extremely good. Highly recommended, even if you have children, they will be fascinated by fishing boats. As a plus it is across the road from the very very modern building hosting Centro Galego de Arte Contemporanea .

Experiencia fantástica: The perfect place to get to know tha Galician rural culture. Perfect for families with kids.

Experiencia positiva: Interesting museum about the Galician culture and crafts. You can buy a museum guide for €1 in English. The exhibition is only in the Galician language (not Spanish). Despite the english language guide, we didn't understand some details since they were left out of the guide. Bu, it was an interesting museum, and most things are understandable for foreign visitors since most displays speak for itself. My advice is to explore this museum even when you're not Galician or Spanish.

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful place with full explanations, yes, in Galician. To all those people posting negative comments here, know that Galician is a romance language that is fully understandable by speakers of both Spanish and Portuguese. If you can't speak any of these 3 languages, well, I am sorry for you. Y'all need to note that English is not necessary to us, that your culture is not the center of the world and that it is a mistake to assume that we all have to somehow serve you and your curiosity in your language. Tourists really get to piss me off. Just go anywhere else where you won't feel miserable anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: A surprising museum with many different aspects of life in Galicia. The stairs are great though I would take photos from the top looking down to avoid the strong light.

Experiencia fantástica: Really interesting visit. Beyond the museum exhibit representing a journey into Galician culture, the triple spiral staircase is truly amazing. The complex where the museum is housed is beautiful, which is an ancient Dominican convent. The church, the cloister and the surrounding park are also beautiful. Admission is cheap. 3 euros per person and 2 for groups of 8 or more.

Experiencia fantástica: There are many exemplars of rural Galicia lifestyle. Antique press machines and some old texts in gallego. Nice place to visit if you are interested in knowing the differences between galician and spanish cultures, specially the language.

Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic museum to know about the Galician traditions, the old artisan jobs that used to be in Galicia, or the fishing and agriculture trends of the first inhabitants of Galicia. After or before the museum visit, go to the park in the back, it's one of the greatest parks in the city.
