Expérience fantastique: A must visit place in Amsterdam. You must purchase the ticket in advance online to secure your spot. If you go during your reserved timeslot, no need to wait. Older kids will able to learn more and appreciate the museum instead of a 3 years old toddler. Stroller can't access the house, you might need a carrier if you are bringing a baby with you. Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice museum Cafe! Highly recommended!!

Expérience fantastique: Another Amsterdam museum done well! I read Anne’s diary as a young girl and it has always been my dream to step into her attic. I enjoyed how her story was presented and highly recommend adding this experience to your Amsterdam itinerary. Definitely buy tickets in advance. I saw someone get turned away who asked where they could buy tickets. I also appreciated the coat check in. It was rainy outside but warm inside and a jacket would have been a nuisance.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent way to spend a few hours. You have to pre-book tickets if you plan to go. We'll worth jumping through the hoops.

Celia Whiteside 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: It's incredibly atmospheric and emotionally challenging when you get to the attic, seeing the bookcase, the space and furniture is shockingly moving despite knowing the story. The building has been adapted and modernised to accommodate the vast number of visitors. It seemed disrespectful to take photos. It's an unforgettable experience.

Expérience fantastique: I'm a fun of the story of her life if u can say like this. The museum is great, I'm impressed to the bottom of my heart. There is always a long queue before the entrance even if you have bought a ticket. You CANNOT come and buy a ticket for today, all the tickets sold out usually. So it always takes around two weeks before the date you are planning to come.

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely haunting, would strongly recommend the introductory tour as it gives insight and context to how this tragedy unfolded. Honestly even if you know the history the refresher just before going in and seeing the house adds so much. Would also recommend booking early online especially for the introductory tour

Shane Panchot 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: We did the introductory session which didn’t really provide much additional information than what’s in the audio guide but it was still nice to start the tour having been refreshed on the story of Anne Frank. The experience in the Anne Frank house can be emotional. I found myself feeling rather depressed when leaving and needed time before I was ready to go to the next stop on our itinerary.

Expérience fantastique: Very popular place to visit. A moving narration takes you through the empty hidden apartment. A series of steep stairs takes you up to the top and back down to see the diaries.

Antony Johnston 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Book on line. Call you up 10 mins before entry. Audio device to hold to your war on way round. Shuffle along and a few steep stairs. Takes 1 hour. Well worth it.

Expérience fantastique: As one would expect it was a very emotional experience, haunting but the museum have beautifully done tribute to Anne, her family and friends that lived thier last years in the annex and as sad as it is everyone who gets the opportunity to should experience going, as hearing Anne's story is so so very important.

Expérience fantastique: A very emotional experience. To actually see the rooms in the annexe was amazing Be warned there are lots of steps and some are quite steep and narrow. Excellent audioguide but the touch points could be better marked. No photography allowed

Expérience fantastique: The Anne Frank house is incredible touching. I truly recommend you book your tickets with a lot of day in advance to your trip to Amsterdam. The tickets will be around 15 euros. When you arrive, there will be a lot of people in front of the entrance and there will be staff guiding and welcoming you. When you enter the locating, you will be given an audio guide for free and the staff will tell you that photograph\videos are not allowed. You will be guided all the way up to the secret annex where Anne and her family hided during the World War II. The place is really well preserved and in a lot of moments I felt Anne Franks presence there. I felt really emotional.

Expérience positive: Thought provoking reminder of what the Franks went through. You get to see the actual hidden apartment that they were in for two years and a month, and where the famous diaries were written. There are a few things to be aware of (1) it can be difficult to reach via public transport (2) tickets are online only and are for 15 minute slots (3) there are a lot of stairs, some steep (4) arguably it's a taster for the diaries, though there are recorded contributions from her father and others.

Expérience fantastique: The place is so overwhelming and emotional to be in, but it’s well preserved, organized and beautiful. The videos, pictures, and audio explanation take you back as they were still in there. I loved the place and I highly recommend it. But don’t forget to visit the Anne Frank sculpture outside the house right in front of the church☺️

Expérience fantastique: What an amazing experience so well preserved. It is a bit narrow inside and not recommend for families with little kids but you can manage if you must. It gets hot inside due to the crowd in small rooms. Steps are super steep.

Expérience fantastique: From someone who didn't know anything about Anne, her family and their story, the introductory program was an awesome addition and worth the money. The museum is a touching place, a must do if you're into WW2 and Holocaust history.

Expérience fantastique: Remembering Anne, the monument is like 1 min walk from there. And if you interested to enter the house, buy the ticket online first. It will be a lot more easier

Schatze Emilien 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: I went in without expectations and honestly thought it may be a tourist trap but it is 110% worth it and a must see. So many original things in this house including her diary and the audio guide and videos brought the experience to life. When viewing, please be mindful of how long you’re taking if there is a big group of people waiting.

Expérience fantastique: This was probably the defining point of my time in Amsterdam. The space has been preserved incredibly, and it was so informative yet soul destroying at the same time. I would like to mention the accessibility. Of course, due to the nature of the museum, the annexe isn't accessible. It's up a lot of stairs, and I totally get that. I'm disabled with a mobility impairment and bought a ticket expecting to only be able to do the modern visitor centre, but a member of staff came and talked to me and showed me images of all of the potential barriers to my entry and let me make a decision about what I was able to do. He said that I could take it as slow as I needed, and that I could wave at one of the CCTV cameras if I found myself in difficulty and they'd come and help me. I decided to go ahead and try, because my great great grandfather died in the same camp that Anne and Margot did and my surviving great grandmother was around Anne's age when she was imprisoned in a camp. It was something I needed to do if I was at all able to, and they supported that. They even came and found me about half way round to check I was doing okay. It was worth every penny, and the bruises from misjudging a couple of steps! I couldn't recommend it more. It was very informative and emotional, and the English audio tour was brilliant. The use of mixed media was exceptional.

Expérience fantastique: Wanted to do the 30 minute guided tour at the Anne Frank house but was sold out way in advance. Did a private tour first, which included where they first lived when arriving in Amsterdam, Montessori school the sisters attended, book store where she purchased the diary and other highlights away from the annex where they were hiding. Would recommend doing this tour first. The Anne Frank house experience was very informative and nice to see the actual hiding place.

Expérience fantastique: We needed just over an hour walking through Anne Frank House. The museum was well done. We were given small listening pieces used to listen to audio information in each room, which was nice as it allows you to walk through the museum at your own pace. As you might imagine, the material is very heavy here, but educational and beneficial. I would recommend this museum when in Amsterdam. Recommend booking as early as possible. We booked just over 1 month prior to our visit.

Sarah West 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: If you are going to this thinking that you will see the rooms as lived in by Anne, then think again, the furniture and possessions were removed by the Nazis...and Mr Frank refused to make good... but don't let this detract from the visit. Have faith in the majority of this human race that we are all part of. Goodness will prevail. Let history show how.

Expérience fantastique: Need to reserve tickets well in advanced (online). Canal tour is also available near by. Very busy area with lots of shops and dinning next to the museum. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You should also arrive early for your tour to make sure you get a better experience. For you and the staff. Great experience overall.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent place to visit while in Amsterdam. A historical view of the war through a child's eyes. We did the self paced audio tour and it will cover your needs for the tour. Self paced will take between 45 to 60 minutes. Highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance because at the door is real iffy. I really enjoyed the tour.

Expérience fantastique: This museum is outstanding. The audio guide helps pace you so you can experience it fully and in a mindful way. It takes about an hour to go through. Make your reservations early! Visited on Weekend Reservation recommended Yes … More

Expérience fantastique: Highly recommend paying the extra for the info session before the tour if you would like to know more about the Frank family. You must buy tickets on the 1st of the month before your trip month or you won't get it as they don't sell on-site the day of. Be sure to be available at midnight European time on the 1st because if you are in the US and wait you may not get tickets.

Expérience fantastique: It's a beautiful rich area. I highly recommend visiting it at night and daytime. There are many small streets in between where you can walk around and get yourself a quick snack and would keep walking around. I highly recommend having a fully charged phone to take good pictures. There's free wifi in the area but not that strong.

Expérience fantastique: Quite impactful and historic tour of a sad and horrendous part of human history. Sad yet important for us to remember what happened. Well worth the visit definitely buy tickets in advance. Make sure to schedule some extra time as the walk through is at a set pace. You are walking through where the Franks were hiding.

Expérience fantastique: This museum was well organized, and curated. The amount of artifacts from the frank family it's amazing. They even have video of Anne Frank. As you can imagine the tickets go fast so prepare at least a month ahead to get them. They have audio guides in a dozen or so languages. The entrance is past the green front door, around the corner.

Jodi Kittle 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Very well done experience esp w limited actual artifacts. Very good audio guide leading you through the house and the times. Note: very steep steps! Thoroughly engaged my teen and my mother
