Expérience fantastique: A beautiful place in the center of Murcia that invites you to discover the treasures it hides. A little piece of history narrated in a very entertaining and enjoyable way, by the guide that accompanies you during the approximately 1-hour tour. Of course, totally recommended. Admission is free, and can be with a guide or free.

Expérience fantastique: This morning at 11am. We have known the Museum guided by Trini Marín, a very pleasant visit and great knowledge. Surprising what is discovered behind that facade! We still wonder how, being Murcians, we didn't know him....and that usually happens, we don't value what is ours. In the heart of Murcia absolutely recommended and as more incentive, free guided tour at various times.

Expérience fantastique: Hidden gem in Murcia. We've been there a thousand times, and we don't know what's there.

Expérience fantastique: A beautiful place to visit. I recommend your visit for 3 reasons: it is free, it is cool and quiet and it is the only monument of the Arabs in Murcia. Besides, those who are very Catholic will have a blast with the collection of 10 Jesus children on the top floor with a Catholic theme.

Expérience fantastique: Free museum. With a beautiful view of the monastery in function. Very interesting museum. Curious history of the city of Murcia. I recommend. Museum close to all historic buildings in the center. Like a cathedral, for example... There is little parking nearby. Missing to go on foot.

Expérience fantastique: Minor Alcazar from the 13th century rebuilt by the emir lbn Hud al Mutawakkil and integrated into the conventual building of Santa Clara la Real. 13th century Former recreation palace of two fundamental characters in the stage of the Taifa kingdoms. Drawings of two emirs, who respectively built and rebuilt this building in two moments, the Wolf King on his horse and Ibh Hud sitting by the pool, while they were the scourge of the Almohad invasion of the Iberian Peninsula. Author: Juan Navarro "Saíno", creator of the drawings that represent the old Andalusian Murcia that appear in the explanatory panels of the palatial area of this building.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice free museum. Very pleasant and interesting visit. The only regret when you're a foreigner and you don't speak Spanish, you can't understand the explanations. A brochure translated into French would be a plus... Very nice building. A real pleasure to visit.

Expérience fantastique: Spectacular cloister in the heart of Murcia, much forgotten by the Murcians themselves, its construction began in the thirteenth century has modifications and extensions until the eighteenth century. The style is Arab, lamígero and baroque. The monastery of Santa Clara was founded on the Islamic-Mudejar palace of the Emir of Murcia Ibn Hud, which since 1365 has housed the Poor Clare nuns. Several centuries of history and different cultures such as Islamic, Gothic and Baroque come together in this building. The museum space and the nuns coexist in total harmony. It preserves one of the oldest Arab pools in Spain.

Expérience fantastique: The visit is essential to know a piece of the history of Murcia. You can see a part of the holiday palace of the Wolf King (Muhammad ibn Mardanix) from the 12th century, which is also on another Almoradí from the 21st century. The area was the neighborhood of Arrixaca.

Expérience fantastique: Quiet and very beautiful place. Admission is free and it is worth visiting the building. It is located in a very beautiful part of the city, on a pedestrian-only street. Nearby there are several bars and restaurants.

Expérience fantastique: Essential museum of Murcia. Very good guides, entertaining and detailed. The only drawback is the reservation form, which was wrong and you have to call by phone.

Expérience fantastique: The guided tour is very interesting. The guide made it very enjoyable and showed the great knowledge she has about everything she explained to us. The Museum is tiny, but it has works of great value, and the pool patio is wonderful. I recommend everyone who can visit it.

Expérience fantastique: Pretty museum, small but gives some great insight to how the city was during its heyday

Expérience fantastique: Must visit in Murcia. With remains of two Andalusian palaces from the 12th and 13th centuries, necessary to understand the dimension that the city had as capital in these periods, first with Ibn Mardanis and later with Ibn Hud until the passage to the protectorate of Castile with the then infant, Alfonso X. The visit ends with a gallery of sacred art of the convent, with the gifts that the Poor Clares have been contributing to enter. Access is free and can be done with a guide (also free) by reservation. I recommend it.

Expérience fantastique: Outstanding museum about history of Murcia and the Saint Clara's

Miguel Angel Garcia 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: From information and tourism they recommended us to go with the bonus that that day was free. The truth is that from the outside it does not tell you anything you can pass it but inside you discover a beautiful building with a very complete collection of paintings, images and religious objectives that is very easy to see. The place has important air conditioning if you want to make a stop in the heat to recharge your batteries.

Expérience fantastique: Knowing the history of my city with the guided tour has been very nice, as the previous month we had been in Córdoba visiting the Cathedral, and soaking up the history of Spain it is wonderful to see how all these places were related.

Expérience fantastique: I love religious relics. It's interesting and beautiful. Paintings, wood carvings etc. The best, you have a view of the backside of the altar within the museum. Unfortunately I did not have too much time as I came short before closing time, 20min. The other part of the museum is for archaeological findings.

Expérience fantastique: It is fascinating to visit something like that in the center of Murcia. The pool area is impressive, especially on a hot sunny day. Visits are in a group, but you can join a group that has a visit at that time. Also as a museum it is a jewel; You can see several sizes of Salzillo and other very valuable works of art. Highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: Visit highly recommended! The view is Free and on Saturdays at 12.00 you can book in advance with a guided visit. This museum is still currently the convent of Las Claras. In the past it was the residence of one of the Nasrid people who conquered Murcia, and it preserves some of its corners. In addition, you can see some of the great works of Salzillo. The guide Manuel Madrigales explained everything perfectly, it shows that he knows a lot about the history of our Murcia, religion, and art. With his enthusiasm explaining everything, we greatly enjoyed the visit.

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful museum of the Muslim era and the reconquest. The first floor contains two Muslim palaces from the thirteenth and thirteenth centuries and artistic pieces found in them; the second is dedicated to Christian works that belong to the convent that occupied the place of the palaces after the reconquest. The museum is quite good and the guided tours are of the highest quality, and also free. 100% recommended.

Expérience fantastique: A true jewel that deserves to be visited with great tranquility to be able to see in all its splendor the main altar, a Baroque masterpiece, the image of the Virgin of the Rosary and the sculpture of the great sculptor Francisco Salcillo who represents Santa Ana, mother of the Virgin mary It is a very pleasant visit.

Expérience fantastique: My favorite place to bring visitors to Murcia. A very small museum but in a stunning setting along one side of the convent gardens. There is a free guide (in Spanish) if you arrange beforehand, or just show up during opening hours and wander at will (free entry, Spanish-only info boards). The ground floor displays the archaeological remains of the caliph's palace, and the pairing of this on one side and the convent pool and gardens on the other is delightful. Upstairs are artifacts from the convent's history, including a small chapel with a dragon-painted ceiling. A must-see spot in Murcia!
