Expérience fantastique: Free and part of the Cultural Circuit of Praça da Liberdade. Just the experience of walking through the old mansion is worth the visit, because it houses many details and environments for good photos. Even those who are not interested in stones, minerals and gemology will find the tour interesting. It's really cool to think about the colors and shapes of minerals and how they're formed. I really liked the room with the optical illusions! I saw many people being surprised when they realized that the stones they saw were illusions. Not to mention that we can hear Fernanda Takai's beautiful voice during the visit.

Expérience fantastique: The museum is in a restored building, in front of Praça da Liberdade. Interactive and fantastic exhibition. It does not have its own parking. I recommend!

Expérience fantastique: Admission is free, the staff are very attentive. The building where the museum is located is very beautiful. Not to mention the wide variety of metals that the museum has. A must-see for anyone who loves visiting museums.

Expérience fantastique: Gerdau Museum which is located in a magnificent building in Praça da Liberdade. Admission is free and no appointment is required. The exhibition is full of ores, stones, meteorites, gemstones. There are some explanatory videos, so take your time, because they are very interesting. The building has 3 floors, on the ground floor there is a very nice cafe with a few options to eat. Be sure to visit the Periodic Table part, I thought it was great! It is worth taking students who like chemistry, Brazilian history and, of course, mining. I'll be back to watch all the videos calmly. Only one thing, because of the exhibition, it is not possible to contemplate, in some rooms, the original architecture of the building, since the play of light on the stones makes it a little difficult. I highly recommend the tour!

Expérience fantastique: We love the location. Great to learn about the culture and history of the region. I went with a broken leg and had a great experience. Wheelchairs are lent and there is an elevator for access to all floors. We were treated very well.

Expérience fantastique: It is a mineral museum located in a historic building facing Libertage Park in Belo Horizonte. Minas Gerais, as its name suggests, produces a variety of minerals. The crystals of the minerals that were dug out are on display. Ouropleto also had a mineral museum, but it can be said that the scale is almost the same. Saturday started at 12:00. Admission is free. Bags can be left in lockers for free. First, take the exterior stairs to the second floor, where you will find a mineral display. Even if you don't understand Portuguese, you can understand it as it is because the element symbols are displayed. There are also many video exhibits related to mineral excavation. It was interesting to see that the periodic table of elements, first created by the Russian scientist Mendelof, did not contain carbon. There were also huge crystals of various crystals. There was also an exhibition of meteorites. The first floor is a cafe and souvenir shop. When you go to Libertage Park, we recommend that you go sightseeing together. It takes about 1 hour.

Expérience fantastique: I had the opportunity to visit the Museum when it reopened after the Covid-19 pandemic and, therefore, only the ground floor was in operation. There is an incredible store inside, called Bem Mineiro, where you can buy mini stones of the most varied species at very affordable prices. I highly recommend! Certainly, on my return to BH, I will return to the Museum to get to know it completely, as it has 3 floors.

This beautiful Museum is part of the Circuito Liberdade, an important cultural corridor in the country. When I took my puppy there, he loved it!

Expérience fantastique: I loved having visited the mineralogy museum today after being closed for a long time due to the pandemic the only thing that should return to how it was before the pandemic was to have a person doing the tour with you in a group explaining which stones are where they come from where they enter more practical than now.

Expérience fantastique: The Museum of Mines and Metal has everything to please. It has a very interesting collection, which are stones and metals. This collection is presented not only in an exhibition, but also in an interactive way, with telescopes, videos and technology. Temporary exhibitions bring art to the space, which also occasionally receives musical performances. In addition, it has a cafeteria, a small shop, and, let's not forget, an architecture that combines the ancient with the modern with inspiration. Who wouldn't want to know a place like this, huh? To make it even better, it's also quite affordable, not just for wheelchair users. Visually impaired audiences also receive attention, as well as those with hearing impairments. Through the website, it is possible to have more information. To enter the building, wheelchair users and other people who cannot climb stairs must enter from the side, which has a panoramic elevator. There is an intercom with accessible height, and a security guard will come and open the access gate. It is a beautiful example of listed architecture that received interventions to make it accessible. In addition to the internal renovation, the building received an annex with modern lines, which includes an elevator, accessible toilets, a terrace and even a staircase that opens onto the all-glass façade. Believe me: it is very beautiful. The wheelchair user will have access to practically all areas, with great ease of movement. The doors are very wide, and the room is spacious enough. The toilets are large, and I saw a sign indicating changing facilities. However, the one I used had a raised toilet seat with a front opening. It was really hard to balance myself. Otherwise it was well equipped. It has an all gender bathroom. I really liked the current cafeteria. The menu was interesting and varied, and there is a lot of space to circulate. The tables are wheelchair accessible, and the chairs are light and easy to remove. The attendants came to the table, if necessary, and were courteous. As for the order, it can be made by cell phone, as each table has a display with QRCode, which, when opened, offers the menu and even the table number. If you want to go to the counter, it is also possible, but it is too high. The decor mixes simple and modern with antique pieces, harmoniously and beautifully. I highly recommend the visit. Allow at least two hours.

Expérience fantastique: The Museum of Mines and Metal (MMM) is a Brazilian museum located in the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. It is part of the Praça da Liberdade Cultural Circuit and was inaugurated on March 22, 2010 with an architectural project by Paulo Mendes da Rocha and a museographer by Marcello Dantas. It is set in two segments: the Museum of Mines, on the first floor and second floor; and the Metal Museum, on the second floor and third floor. Altogether, there are 18 rooms. It is housed in a 19th century building listed by the IEPHA. The space proposes to highlight the everyday and economic importance of ores and their cultural and social implications. This floor houses seven rooms: Chão das Estrelas, which comprises the Djalma Guimarães collection, telescopes and telescopes; Map of Mines, where the visitor locates the deposits through an interactive map indicates the location of deposits. In the Sala das Minas, part of the history of mineral extraction in Minas is told, from the gold cycle to the microprocessor industry - iron, gold, diamond, niobium, zinc, colored stones, manganese, graphite, aluminum, limestone and water; Mineral Inventory formed by the physical collection of the Professor Djalma Guimarães Museum, whose collection is presented in interactive drawers; Miragem Room, where resources with a holographic effect are used to demonstrate the collection; Environment Room, shows the life cycle of a mine and the consumption of minerals and natural resources; The floor is divided into thematic axes and rooms: Periodic table, with the demonstration of metallic tubes that make the chemical elements tangible; Alloys and Compounds Room, shows the combination of metals and the formation of alloys; Windows to the world, the use of metals at different times; Sharp tongue, which shows the qualities of metal, such as malleability and shine; Interactive Stations show the properties and production processes of metals; Atoms Table, with a game that allows you to manipulate elements of the periodic table; Vil Metal, which makes it possible to compare the tangible value of metals with products; Logistics, transport from extraction to steel plants; Adorno do Corpo, where the visitor makes the virtual use of jewelry; Vale Quem Pesa, where an estimate is made of the presence of minerals in each visitor;

Expérience positive: Minas Gerais, the state, is well known in Brazil by being the area that is explored the nature to export metals to all around the world. This museum kind of celebrates this. Inside, the little store near the cafeteria sells different kind of rocks, the attendant was very attentive to us by explaining and showing a lot of rocks. Check all floors, including the roof, where you can have a great view of the neighborhood. ⚠️ There is no 5 stars because it should repare the memory of the lost souls in the recent tragedies near the city, when a flood of mud with heavy metals destroyed entire neighborhoods and families.
