Expérience fantastique: One of those unknown places for many people but with much to discover, very friendly workers and security people.

Expérience positive: Definitely worth a look in if you are in the area. It is free entry and you can easily pass an hour away wandering around.

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting museum, it collects pieces of archaeology, ceramics, sculpture, ethnography and above all painting.

Expérience fantastique: Highly recommended. The building is modern, clean and bright. With free admission, free lockers without coins, photos allowed throughout the museum, benches to sit on, patio with cloister and garden. It can be seen in about 2-3 hours. It has classical and modern painting, sculpture, ceramics, archeology and ethnology. There are very interesting paintings (some owned by the Prado and Reina Sofía Museums). One of the museum's jewels is the painting "Triumphal Entry of King Jaime I into the city of Valencia", with dimensions (390 x 665 cm) comparable to those of Guernica (349 x 777 cm). Also very interesting are the paintings by local painters from the 19th and 20th centuries. It then has two floors dedicated to ceramics, an archeology and ethnology floor, and temporary exhibitions.

Expérience fantastique: Museum focused on ceramic and pictorial arts. On the ground floor there is an ethnological and ethnographic space. Too bad that lately the exhibition rooms are covered with dark colors that, in my opinion, make it difficult to better appreciate the works. Is free.

Expérience fantastique: Unbeatable treatment, museum that you don't expect much from him... but once you enter your vision changes. A 10!!

Expérience fantastique: It's not The Meadow. It does not matter! It's a museum. We should go to museums more. We ran into 3 visitors on a Tuesday morning in August. The upper room houses a collection of works that the visitor does not expect to be there. From "Jaime I entering Valencia" a work of 6 meters long, to that trunk that looks like a sculpture that spills, or those reapers that rest on the porch of a farmhouse, or that painting of life and death, childhood innocence, which could be in a church or in the Reina Sofía. Postscript: the photos are of my son, who photographed what a child's gaze sees.

Expérience fantastique: Take into account the break from 14-16 when the museum closes.

Expérience fantastique: I really liked the last floor dedicated to modern paintings by local artists, and the part on archeology and ethnology. It tells life stories and the popular culture of Castellón.

Expérience fantastique: An unexpectedly large museum with 2 fine arts floors, a ceramic section, big archaeology section, modern art section and some temporary exhibits. It was very quiet when we came on a Saturday afternoon- it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Well worth the visit if you are in town especially if you are in a group with varied interests as it has a bit of everything. Bonus points for the massive lift that looked like a sauna.

Expérience fantastique: The open-air performances on Thursday nights in July and August are a delight, totally recommended, "Nits al Claustre a la fresco, sense patir calor" refresh your body and mind. Congratulations to the organization for the wonderful performance of the great Luis Pastor.

Expérience fantastique: A must visit for tourists and foreigners

J.A. Casany 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: It is impressive because the magnificent collection of art of all kinds surprises. The collection of ceramics from all periods is unique, only the one in the Marques de Dos Aguas museum in Valencia is better. The ethnography and history exhibits of the province are fantastic for children and young people. The air conditioning and perfect facilities. The reception also, but not the warders… No one imagines this in a small “provincial” city like Castellon, it far exceeds expectations.

Expérience fantastique: I congratulate the Museum of Fine Arts for the wisdom of programming a different cultural activity "the Lunatic Nights" has been a complete experience, where I have had the pleasure of discovering women artists such as Juana Francés, Mónica Buch, Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore through of audiovisuals produced by the collective dyers, the subsequent gathering between the participants and the subsequent creative plastic activity. I look forward to the next lunatic nights.

Expérience fantastique: The history of humanity is incredible, plus the ancient objects and projected images give details that you can't get anywhere else

Expérience fantastique: I have to point out that I spent a good time on Saturday, November 21, a little over an hour and a half, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Castellón, located in a modern-style building made of cement and glass. I guess if I had gone in the morning I would have enjoyed the beautiful light of the Mediterranean. In the afternoon there was a magical atmosphere around the paintings and sculptures on the upper floors. Similarly, on the first floors, there is a sensor system that is used to connect the lighting only when necessary, when there is an observer in the room. I was enchanted by the immense collection of ceramic objects on the lower floors, so much so that I did not have time to see the temporary collection dedicated to a cartoonist. As the person in charge of the reception was very kind, I will visit the Museum again next time.

Expérience fantastique: If you want to cultivate and recreate yourself, be sure to visit the Castellón Museum of Fine Arts. Get ready to go several days and be able to go through the entire gallery, see it and enjoy it. Very good service and you get passes with discounts for events.

Expérience fantastique: History represents us and defines us, and this museum is one of the many that does well through its exhibition. Ps: I let you enjoy the photos without putting a description .. Because you have to see it :) and enjoy every piece and every minute.

Isabel María López Aguayo 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: I'll be back, of course! The temporary exhibitions give it an extra attraction, because of the variety, and they are well selected. The permanent exhibits of the museum's funds are wonderful. I discovered painters and works that I would never tire of looking at and admiring. The museum also comes alive with evening activities, at least in summer. The staff was very nice, providing useful information and wondering if your visit had been to your liking. A tiny museum that gives a lot of itself and offers much more than one could expect. If you go, calculate more time to enjoy it without haste ... To put a but, a brochure or guide would be appreciated ... But it really is more enjoyed admiring each work at your leisure than with a head full of data ... , I will be back!

Expérience fantastique: Entertaining and free culture for all ages. Very varied, complete and very well presented: archaeology, ethnology, painting, sculpture and ceramics, first class. In addition to some very attractive temporary exhibitions. In a building designed entirely for its purpose. Attentive and motivating staff.

Expérience fantastique: Lovely selection of local art.

Expérience fantastique: A richly rewarding visit. The building is a remarkable piece itself, designed almost like steps so that you can see down to the bottom floor from the top, five floors above. The staff are friendly and Covid-responsible. As a collection of art, too, it shines. There is a giant piece by Gabriel Puig Roda called L'expulsió dels Moriscos, that is stunning to see in person. (Terrible photo of it attached)

Expérience fantastique: I highly recommend visiting it. 4 floors divided between paintings, sculptures, ceramics and ethnology. In this period among other things the entry is free !!! Wonderful!!

Expérience fantastique: This museum has a number of beautiful oil paintings, some by local artists. There are also exhibits on ceramics, Roman archaeological finds, and much more. We barely finished before closing time. It's a few hours very well spent.

Rethna Cancionlejana 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: I was very surprised. It is a huge museum and very well distributed. It has six floors and in all of them there are exhibitions, either permanent or temporary. Two of them dedicated to ceramics and two to the Fine Arts. Only the building itself impresses, but the layout makes it perfect to visit and be easily two hours without realizing that time passes. The staff, too, is very nice. Admission is free.

Expérience fantastique: One of the place I visited during my last day in Castellon. Cool place.

JOSE MANUEL AYGÜES BELLIDO 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: It is very well located and it is surprising that, from the outside it seems smaller than it really is inside, having 5 fairly spacious floors. We can observe different works of art, preserved objects from very old times or interact with audio elements, among others. The staff is very friendly. The visit is highly recommended.
