Expérience fantastique: What an amazing service!!! We were welcomed by a lady who gave us all the information we needed. And the indoor exhibition was wonderful !!! Pieces from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful and free. The building is beautiful, it has a historical collection, such as silverware and antique furniture, as well as an exhibition of canvases. I went in February 2022 and the upper part was closed I decided to work, but I was told that they intend to reopen in April. It's worth the visit! And on the same street there's another museum, so it's a good walk!

Expérience fantastique: Great place to learn more about the foundation and development of the city of Salvador. There are also exhibitions of works by renowned local artists. Very careful with the issue of the pandemic, limiting the number of visitors per room and requiring the use of a mask and proof of vaccination. The second floor is under construction and, therefore, is not open to visitors (January/2022).

Expérience fantastique: Good night dear I would like to ask a question, Rodin's exhibition was held here in Salvador at the end of the 90's and I took my nieces to this museum and when I put the name of the museum's exhibitions, the name of this exhibition does not appear. was this exhibition registered? Thank you for your attention and waiting for your reply

Expérience fantastique: The place is very beautiful and the works on display are interesting. However, the reduced visit to the 1st floor makes the variety not so high.

Expérience fantastique: I saw the exhibition of the artist Murilo. Sensational! There is no entry fee and it is well worth checking out.

Expérience fantastique: Truly a must see! Beautiful exhibition and location is absolutely stunning. Go in the early evening to catch the sunset, eat a mouqueca at the por do sol bouteca with cacau pudding for desert.

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful building of eclectic architecture, with rich decorative details. Unfortunately, the exhibition of the collection is not working due to the renovation of the building (only the temporary exhibition room on the ground floor is active).

Expérience positive: Lovely and no entrance fee but 2nd floor closed which was...unfortunate.

Expérience fantastique: A very relevant tourist spot for those who like and value classical art. It is a fine arts museum with a reasonable permanent collection. Unfortunately, I visited it during the period when the museum was still reopening after the pandemic and with a good part of its collection still restricted. But the place is amazing. I highly recommend it.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful works, respecting all security protocols and great service.

Expérience fantastique: For those who like art and history this is a great place to include in the script. The museum is housed in a historic building and is home to both temporary exhibitions of contemporary art and a fixed collection of furniture, tableware, paintings, tiles and sacred art with a strong colonial influence.

Expérience fantastique: It is in the corridor of Vitória, I have a bus stop nearby, has an internal cafeteria. Diverse works that have rich history throughout the centuries, all well preserved and this museum has experienced guides who can bring history clearly and objectively in the presentations of the pieces, rich environments of culture and arts. Free entrance. In his collections he has paintings depicting the old Salvador, sculptures, wood art, antique furniture, demonstrations of various types of woods original from Brazil is a beautiful architecture that is worth knowing.

Expérience fantastique: Indeed, Bahia has beautiful museums! The example of the Bahia Art Museum - a colonial-style mansion, makes us ramble about the plethora of precious information about our history. Located on the Victoria Corridor, transports us to an indescribable scenario of glamor and sophistication of the big mansions! It has a collection rich in details. In its collection, about 5,000 works of great historical and artistic value distributed in collections of paintings, religious sculptures, porcelain, furniture, silverware, glass and crystals, drawings, photographs, documents, maps and engravings. Indeed, in this Museum, there is a class of cultural immensity, sponsored by our beautiful Capital! Very worth checking out.

Expérience fantastique: The upper part has a permanent exhibition that enchants and tells a lot about Brazilian history together with the religiosity that Bahia has, the main influence of Catholicism.

Manoela Fontenelle 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: The museum, free of charge, has an impressive, very rich, fixed collection, in addition to several sporadic events of great value. There is still an organic market every Thursday, from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Virgílio Cavalcante 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: One of the first museums in Brazil, with a rich collection of colonial, imperial and republican history from Bahia and Brazil. The collection includes statuary, plastic arts, ceramics, furniture, Catholic iconography, among others. It is possible to see the daily life of wealthy families, their opulence, in addition to the main Bahian artists from the 17th to the 20th century. The best part is that Entry is free! It's worth taking an afternoon to get acquainted. The operation of the MAB is from 13h00 to 17h00.

Betina Sodré 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: The collection is made up of furniture, paintings and various personal objects including crockery and jewelry dating from the 19th century. 17th to the mid 20th century. There is also an extensive collection of religious art. Remembering that entry is free.

Expérience fantastique: Reference museum in Brazil. Free entry on Wednesdays. The Bahia Art Museum is the oldest museum in the State, created in 1918 in the building attached to the Public Archives and transferred in 1982 to its current headquarters, in Corredor da Vitória. Its collection consists of 13,686 pieces acquired over time, through the purchase by the State of Bahia of works from large private collections.

Expérience fantastique: Very beautiful museum, with free admission and with a historically precious collection, which helps us understand how social inequality in this country has gained colors and shapes since colonization. The realism of some of the paintings is surprising and special attention is paid to the gigantic collection of silverware and dinnerware.

Raquel Sena 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful place, preserving artifacts from Brazil Empire and Republic, works of art, used furniture, porcelain. It works from 1pm to 7pm.

Expérience fantastique: Completely incredible place. By staying away, I was only able to visit the museum's collection and it is completely wonderful. Pieces dated from the 18th century, an entire section of porcelain (nobility, military), sculptures, furniture and paintings. All with the explanation on the side. Admission is free and the staff are very kind.

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic and fabulous museum!

Expérience fantastique: It's always great to visit a museum, and get to know the past of the environment in which you live. We must not forget that in all these stories, the Native peoples of this land suffered a lot from the loss of their territories, as well as the blacks in slave labor. Ah, the museum also offers parking space... :-D
