Expérience fantastique: From Egyptian art created 2000 BC, to modern Marvel art created in 2000s AC, there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy at SAMA. Museum has 2 towers, each with 4 floors, for different exhibitions. I really liked that they separated their collection based on region, such as Asia, Oceania, Texas and … Parking lot is located right outside the museum, but not free. This is perfect place to take your kids to on a weekend.

Expérience fantastique: This museum is absolutely absolutely WORLD CLASS! All of the pieces are authentic and period correct! 5000 year old Egyptian art and atifacts! And much more!! I thought I was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York! It was a truly beautiful and amazing experience. A very well kept secret in San Antonio. 5 stories high full of fascinating art and artifacts. NOT ONLY ART PIECES, BUT ALSO MANY MANY ARTIFACTS from: Ancient Egypt Ancient Rome Ancient Greece Plus art from the orient, Asia and Africa. I highly recommend it to whomever visits San Antonio tx. THIS PLACE IS A MUST SEE IN SAN ANTONIO TX

Expérience fantastique: I took my family here for their Sunday free entry for Bexar county residents and it was wonderful. The art is diverse and covers a wide range of time periods and country's. They do a great job of giving history to each piece and the kids had fun riding the glass elevator and crossing the sky bridge. It was a much larger museum than I thought, there felt like there was always one more room and one more cool thing to see.

Expérience fantastique: Good museum with a surprising amount of Greek and Roman artifacts. I really liked the tiled portico in the courtyard.

Expérience fantastique: The museum was delightful. Well worth the trip. This collection of art and history felt well rounded, being from all cultures, well priced, and the presentation and lighting were expertly done. A bit of walking to be had, but plenty of space to sit down and rest while you enjoy. The contemporary art was fantastic and well worth seeing In person. The sand mandala was my favorite.

Expérience fantastique: While on vacation in San Antonio we visited SAMA and really enjoyed the museum. The galleries are amazing and beautiful. Parking was super easy right in front of location. Elevators(Super elegant and beautiful) to the multiple floors. My son loved the super heroes display (Aug 20222) and he loved it. Next time we are visiting San Antonio will definitely visit again.

Expérience fantastique: Overall a great experience. I would definitely return and bring out of town visitors! They have discount days on Thursdays and Sundays for locals with a $5.00 fee for the featured exhibition. As we wanted to see the Heroes and Villains exhibit, we paid the fee. The parking app was also not working well, so we were able to pay the $5.00 parking fee at the ticket counter easily. There is free parking available Sundays from 10 am - 12 pm, the same time as the free museum slot for locals. The Heroes and Villains exhibit was a bit underwhelming and seemed a bit plain as compared to the rest of the museum. The rest of the museum had art laid out based on location and era. It was enjoyable to see the relics and pieces preserved so well. It was also nice to see the priceless Roman Bust found at an Austin, TX goodwill store up on display. There are stairs and elevators, but it is important to be aware on which side of the museum you are on. Navigation got a bit chaotic since they are 2 connected buildings, but other than that it was a very enjoyable experience!

Expérience fantastique: The Tony Parker collection of Life sized super heros was a great hit with me and the younger crowd. Be sure to go see it before it is gone!

Expérience fantastique: I have been to San Antonio so many times I can not count, I am not sure why this was my first visit to this fine museum. We spent hours in there, such a great collection that they hold and so many that were on loan. Highly recommend this if you live there or if you can take the time while visiting.

Expérience fantastique: Really enjoyed myself. Lot of walking but worth it. These was my first time there, and I live in San Antonio. Parking is only 5 dollars and it's free on Sunday and tuesday. Enjoy everyone

Expérience fantastique: We visited on a Saturday to see the special superhero exhibit. We only intended to visit and leave. We ended up staying over an hour and my children and I loved it. I was honestly surprised by how well received it was. It was spacious (I didn't feel like I was going to knock something over with my stroller), a lot to see, and they had interactive maps. Currently, per website children under 12 are free, they have special hours for local residents, and is a blue star museum. Parking is located across the street and you have to scan a QR code. Photos were encouraged and the children asked to come back. I can not see a reason not to.

Expérience fantastique: We have lived in the area for over 7 years and have never been to the San Antonio Museum of Arts. We were drawn into visiting because of Tony Parkers collection of super heroes which did not disappoint but boy did we love the rest of the Museum. You can spend hours here, very enjoyable and of course educational. We will definitely be back!

Expérience fantastique: Always a great place to see a sizable antiquities collection and some unique pieces, too. The Tony Parker Heroes and Villains exhibit was so fun!

Expérience fantastique: We went specifically to take my 6 year old to see the Super Hero and Villians exhibit, and he loved it. It was a quick tour of statues. It took probably 15 to 20 minutes to get through it all, including pictures. We ended up going through the entire museum and seeing all the exhibits, and I was pleasantly surprised how awesome everything was. If you're military, it's free to get through as this museum is apart of the Blue Star Family. Parking was right across the street and only $5.

Expérience fantastique: My Mom sent me this article from Germany today, writing about the amazing discovery and reappearance of a lost Roman bust of Sextus Pompeius at a flea market in Houston in 2018. Ms Laura Young bought it for only $34.99. It once belonged to the Bavarian King Ludwig I and it disappeared during WW2. I am excited it is displayed at the San Antonio Museum of Art. I need to hurry as the bust will return back to Bavaria next year.

Expérience fantastique: Recently went here with family in town after living in San Antonio for 16 years and was pleasantly surprised by the volume and quality of the exhibits. The displays primarily centered on historic Egyptian, Asian, and Greek art but there were also galleries for Latin, European, and Contemporary offerings. A fun way to spend a few hours staying cool and enjoying some art. Just a ten minute walk from The Pearl as well!

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful collection. If you are in San Antonio I'd highly recommend the annual pass which is only 80 bucks but allows you to enter anytime you want. I go there just recenter my focus as I've got a lot of balls I'm juggling

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful architecture and design. Quite a large museum with 4 floors, so pick up a map at the entrance. SO many lovely pieces and a great layout. Because there wasn't a large crowd I was able to take many pictures. But I did not get to see the entire museum as I ran out of time! I will definitely visit again. The gift shop has great stuff too!

Expérience fantastique: S. A. M. A is awesome. It's twenty bucks to get in, but if you payed a penny too see every piece of art in that museum you would under pay. There is art from before Christ, art from the Orient, Europe, Texan, modern and contemporary. If your thinking about going plan on spending at least three hours in there and wear some good walking shoes. Great visit and the staff was really helpful.

Expérience fantastique: Lovely morning spent among world class art and sculptures and vases etc. Beautiful place. Lovely staff. My favorite art museum!

Expérience fantastique: This museum has a great variety of sculptures and paintings from different eras and organized nicely. There are 4 floors of different galleries in two different buildings. The buildings are connected on the bottom floor and at the fourth floor there is a sky bridge surrounded by windows which gives you a nice view into downtown. You can start on either your left through the Egyptian gallery or the right through the gift shop. If you enjoy reading through everything, I would recommend getting there in the morning to be able to read through the summary of the exhibits. Otherwise, you can casually walk through and see everything in about 4 hours. Military and student discounts are available. Paid parking is available directly across the street that is paid by scanning the QR code posted on a sign. License plate, cell number and credit needed to pay.

Expérience fantastique: We accidentally arrived at a time when a museum tour for kids was starting so we were allowed to join them which was great. Everyone working at the museum was super friendly and we found the exhibition engaging, both for the adults and for our 3 & 5 year old. It is worth waking in from the Riverside walk, some other neighbouring areas are somewhat dodgy so be careful.

Expérience fantastique: Love the exhibits. Such beautiful art and scenery. The whole feel is amazing. Went on a free family day. They had free art activities. Enjoyed very much. Family friendly They charge for parking! But it’s all day parking.

Expérience fantastique: The San Antonio Museum of Art blew me away, at first I did not expect much from the first exhibit of contemporary art, but when we went into the other exhibits it exceeded my expectations. They have many Roman, Japanese and Chinese, Egyptian, Polynesian, and other ancient civilizations artifacts there as well dating back as far as 5000 years ago. Two employees in particular named Gabriel and Andy Were super helpful and nice when explaining the history behind the exhibits. They were very knowledgeable of the history and the deeper level meaning behind the paintings and artifacts! We were only planning on staying there for less than two hours and were there for four hours as it was fascinating!!! 10/10 museum!!!

Expérience fantastique: What a wonderful museum, however, make sure to bring your walking shoes; because, there is so much to see, multiple floors, exhibits, like the Greaks, Egyptian, as well as, Texas history. Also, some pop culture for us Batman and Transformer geeks. I think this is a must see. 5 out of five mustaches…

Expérience fantastique: This is an amazing museum! HUGE and with so many artifacts from across the world. The permanent Oceania exhibit was a favorite because it was all new and unique to me. The traveling American Impressionist exhibit was beautiful, fabulous and so much more meaningful with its American scenes. Absolutely introduced me to things I’d never seen before. To truly enjoy each museum section and observe the details, you’d need a full week at least. Coming from Dallas, the contents of this San Antonio Museum of Art blew away all my expectations. Absolutely a gem!

Expérience fantastique: I am still amazing by the massive art collection at this museum. The collection rivals the art museums in any major U.S. city and I highly recommend everyone visit this place. Located along the riverwalk, it is highly walkable and easy to access by food from downtown and even more so from the pearl district. Set aside several hours or likely a day to visit this great museum. Easily the best museum I've been to in San Antonio.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing! Nothing less than an exceptional experience throughout each exhibit. Not only is the art separated by time and place, the enough of pieces set for viewing is more than you can count. The pictures I'm uploading do not do it justice. You have to experience this place for yourself. I am in awe at how amazing and old some of the stuff in there is. I would surely go back and recommend all people to visit at least once. 5 stars mang!

Expérience fantastique: I've been to San Antonio a number of times over the year but this was my first time visiting the art museum. This place is amazing. Such a wonderful and diverse collection of art. Exhibits are professionally displayed across four different levels. Staff was very knowledgeable and professional. This is a "must do" item on your itinerary while visiting SA.

Expérience fantastique: If I had known better when planning for a single day trip in San Antonio, I would spend all my time at the San Antonio Museum of Art. The collection spans over 5000 years in history and comes from all over the world. In fact, to fully appreciate each and every item, I doubt if a week would be sufficient to cover the four-story twin towers of treasures. The entrance is plain and down-to-earth, but man, I did not expect I could find well preserved potteries of 3000 BC at this place (to put it at scale, that's 5000 years ago, versus the 300 years old Alamo/Missions). I wish it will continue to be well maintained, well protected, and well funded.

Expérience fantastique: This Place is Amazing. Your Welcomed with Warm Smiles. The staff is Friendly, kind and stationed throughout the Museum with any information needed. The place was to Large for us to visit all Art exhibits. We are excited to come back. The Gift Store is well Organized with a Great Staff. There is an Elevator to reach the other Floors and also a Large in door Open Spaced Stairway. Directly across the street is Parking fir the Museum. There is also a Rent a Bike station in that Parking lot. The Restrooms are Big and clean. You will enjoy the Art Museum so much, no doubt you will Return.

Expérience fantastique: We went straight to Chihuly Persian ceiling when we arrived!! Entry looks like it's a small art museum. However, the 4 floor wing contained amazing pieces including a kneeling woman piece approx 5000 BC. A mandala. Great local Texas art exhibition too. Definitely more sculpture, objects than paintings.
