Expérience fantastique: The amount of artwork was amazing. And the manner in which it is displayed pays a great tribute to all the artist. We went for the Maurice Sendak display. Like millions of other people, my wife and I were raised on Where the Wild Things Are. And we raised our children with it. And now, we watch our children raise their children with it. I learned so much more about Mr. Sendak and his creative ability. Don't miss it.

Expérience fantastique: I have not been to many art museums so I am not sure I am the best judge. I really enjoyed the art and the way it was presented. I really appreciated the little information placards next to the art. In fact, I would appreciate/ pay extra for an app that would give me a "tour" of the museum - more in depth information popping up for art in whatever room I am in and photos of the art I could look at later to review. I really appreciated that the other patrons were respectful, courteous, and mostly quiet. The staff was also. I have fibromyalgia with severe pain especially in my legs and feet. I very much appreciated the rooms with seats so I could appreciate several artworks between walking from room to room. I would like there to be more of such seating especially for disabled or elderly people.

Expérience fantastique: Renoir Cezanne Pollack Picasso Matisse Warhol Rockwell and so much more Thursday we paid 5$ admission. 15 rest of the time. Nice way to spend a few hours. Loved it

Expérience fantastique: Home of the world’s largest barrel. It was also free the day we were there, so that was nice. The museum is itself an interesting piece of architecture, with a sculpture garden and bistro. There seemed to be quite a bit of remodeling/resetting of exhibit spaces meaning there was really only about an hours worth of art to experience. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I would drop back by if I had the time in Columbus.

Expérience fantastique: I have lived in Columbus almost 7 years now and had never visited the arts museum and wasn't sure what to expect. A month ago I received free tickets to attend and the day I visited is when I think I fell in love with art! I had not realized what I'd been missing. I never took myself to be a person who could stare at a piece of art work and enjoy myself getting lost in the intricacies of a painting. It was somewhat magical but I truly enjoyed the experience. I will definitely be back very soon.

Expérience positive: We live in the Cincinnati area but just love the Columbus area for its zoo and decided to check out the museums and area. We happen to be here on a Sunday so the museum is free (7$ parking but if you spend 7$ in store or Dining then parking is free) The museum is great, well organized and quite beautiful. If you are going and not seeing any special exhibits then you just need a few hours. If you want to see the special exhibits, I believe they were 10$ each. My husband loves to read everything so I check out the pieces I love the most with him and wander and this time I sat and wrote some notes in a lovely courtyard in the middle of the art museum.

Expérience fantastique: HANDS DOWN the best place to get married/host reception in Columbus Ohio. I have been a Columbus wedding photographer for over 10 years. When I say that the Columbus Museum of Art does it right, just believe me! They always give a 10/10 experience. Alyx and the CMA team are absolutely phenomenal! Not only do they have the best staff, the spaces inside and even outside of the Museum are just breath-taking! Derby Court is my favorite space in the whole city to host a ceremony or reception! If you are considering getting married here, just do it! You will not regret it! Cheers! -Ben (Storyteller Adams-Columbus Wedding Photographer)

Expérience fantastique: This museum is small, but surprisingly was filled with art that moved my soul. Black artists like Jacob Lawrence and Elijah pierce....wow! More to take your breath away. Try visiting with an open heart and WIDE open eyes.

Expérience fantastique: There's free admission on Sundays, and it's a great museum when you have a couple hours.

Expérience fantastique: Idk if I'd give the same five stars if I paid for an admission, honestly, but we went on a Sunday which is a free admission day. There's a good eclectic collection of various artists and eras. Place is clean. Staff isn't obtrusive and seems helpful. Bathroom was clean. Gift shop was the usual stuff and prices reflective of the steep cost of admission ($18 each, unless it's Sunday) I definitely think it's worth a visit on a rainy Sunday. Maybe even worth the cost of admissionin the end.

Expérience fantastique: I've visited art museums all around the US, making this my favorite among them all. Small enough to be completed in a short period of time, interactive in some ways, offering a wide range of temporal and stylistic options, and unquestionably the nicest gift shop I've ever had the pleasure of browsing. Many seats available everywhere. But I haven't tried the meals at the museum.

Expérience fantastique: This review is about the special event side of the museum! The museum is always beautiful and inclusive!!!! Love it! We hosted a wedding at the museum this past weekend and Mark H., our event manager was AH-MAZING! Throughout the entire planning process he sent timely emails, kept myself and my team in the loop and detailed. He was always friendly and never "frazzled" by any changes or requests. His team was friendly and everyone worked hard for our couple and they worked ALL day and night too. Mark is a keeper! I just wanted him to know that we see him and his work ethic is superior!!! Thank you so much! Camela Lynn

Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum. Very good collection of American art, and, when we visited, they had a wall with about 20 works of Ukrainian art loaned by a local Ukrainian person. The gift shop is also excellent. A must-see for us is the pottery in the hallway looking into the cafe. The horse is by Deborah Butterfield. She makes the horse from driftwood then has each piece cast in bronze. The quilt is part of their own collection.

Expérience fantastique: This is our first venture here with kids, and I must say the Columbus Museum of Art is 100% wonderful. Everyone we have talked to has been super friendly and helpful. The artwork is inspiring and I was blown away to see works by Picasso and Monet. There are plenty of interactive items for kids. Admission is $18.00 for adults $9.00 for kids(4 and up)/seniors/students Free for little ones Parking is an additional $5.00, and a gift shop or cafe purchase will validate. They also have a partnership with other museums around the country, so a membership at another museum may cover the admission! We have an Ohio History Connection membership and they are partnered! In conclusion, I absolutely recommend coming here and coming back!!!

Expérience fantastique: A spectacular venue for both space and art contents. Got to see a little bit of so many of my fav artists and some new ones, too. The staff were most helpful and pleasant. The gift shop was inviting and i did make some bday purchases. Plus, you can get parking validated with a purchase here or in the cafe (check minimum purchase requirement. It wasn't much). And parking is in an open lot attached to the museum.

Expérience positive: I have to admit the best exhibit was Contemporary & nature. My husband and I completed a puzzle for an hour which was really fun! It was relaxing and beautiful. They are also a herman miller distributor, which is cool! I wish for the price there were some events or more interaction.

Expérience fantastique: My favorite out of all the art museums I've been to, and for comparison sake, I've been to Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. It's small, so it's very doable in just a few hours, is somewhat interactive, a wide temporal and stylistic selection, and easily the best giftshop I've ever had the pleasure of perusing. Lots of seats, all around. I haven't had the museum food though.

Expérience fantastique: Had a great time at CMOA yesterday. First time visitor and now with a membership this year! Saw the beautiful Van Gogh exhibit. It was great. I think 17 VG originals and several other beautiful works from artists who inspired him. See art in person!

Expérience fantastique: I throughly enjoyed the Raggin' On exhibit. Ms. Aminah Robinson was so super talented talented enjoyed reading about her life and getting a glimpse into her memoirs! There seemed to be no medium that she couldn't do! Every piece was intricate and told a story. I highly recommend this exhibit, it runs until Oct 3rd.

Expérience fantastique: Back in Columbus for a visit and it was capped off by a tour at the Museum of Art. In particular our visit to the Aminah Robinson Exhibition. WOW! Do not miss this exhibit if you can help it. Curated absolutely fabulously, and the work is more in depth than you can imagine from the genius of this woman. Thank you Deidre for your incredibly beautiful and comprehensive discussion into this amazing woman's life and work.

Expérience fantastique: This was my second time going to the museum, I enjoyed my visit even though there were some areas that were closed. I recommend checking out the shop, if you buy something for $5 or more your parking ticket gets validated!

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely one of my favorite places to see in my city. The collection of work on display currently is astonishing! There is something to see for everyone. I appreciate that they spotlight black created art as well. The gift shop is wonderful as well, I enjoy purchasing different pins each time I visit.

Expérience fantastique: This museum has an impressive collection. It took us about two hours to go through the whole museum. Lots of art from different eras, with great info about each piece of art. There is a place to study inside that is really nice and open. There are activities for kids, also there are conversation sections that help you talk about a variety of issues on post it notes. The museum is great for groups, a date, or just something to do on a Sunday afternoon(free admission on Sundays). Worth checking out!

Expérience fantastique: We are from out of town and my daughter wanted to see the Art After Stonewall exhibit. Very powerful. Loved all of the other exhibits as well. The museum is very clean and everyone had masks on. Definitely glad this was a stop on our trip.

Expérience fantastique: Loved my experience at the Columbus museum. So much to see. As a adult I felt like a kid again. Also a great place for elementary age kids to enjoy. A lot to learn and the exhibits are exceptional. I love the fact they have a hands on area for children as well. Even better its free every Sunday. It gets a little crowded so I would plan for a good 4-5 hours of being there if you want to see and read everything. The staff is very helpful and clean restrooms.

Expérience fantastique: I absolutely enjoyed my visit here. I came here and left so dazzled at all the art prices. They had everything from Cubism, American, European, West African, abstract, and all else. I loved that each section had its own room for viewing. I also like that they had small interactive activities in most of the room. Overall would definitely recommend!
