Expérience fantastique: An amazing little gem in the heart of Hague. The works of a true genius such as MC Escher are exhibiting in a real palace alongside with some cool illusions and games. Totally worth a visit.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum. Nicely takes you through the life of Escher. The staff was very friendly. We only arrived 1,5 hours before closing, but we still managed to go through everything without rushing. So we can definitely recommend it even if you have just a couple of hours to spare.

Expérience fantastique: The 2nd best museum in Den Haag, after Mauritshuis. I was familiar with Eschers's graphics, he was a genius of perspective and he is still fresh even now. There was also an Andy Warhol exhibit inside but was not so spectacular. All the chandeliers are customade and very interesting. We liked also the perspective picture that you can get at the end of tour trip, at the "sensorial" floor, last floor. Also the shop had interesting souvenirs to buy. One thing not so cool: some areas were in renovation and the light is not so good, lots of reflections in the pictures i took.

Expérience fantastique: Escher in Het Paleis is 15 minutes walk to the exhibition from The Hague railway station. The exhibition is in the Palace that was used by Queen Emma and Queen Wilhelmina. Even Prince Clause and Queen Beatrix have used it as their office in The Haque. It is very interested to see the outlay of the Palace inside and some beautifull wall paintings are left to enjoy. Eschers work is displayed very well and there is a lot of his work, stretched over his life time, to enjoy. " There is a restaurant and lockers. The museum is in a very old part of the city and has many interesting archtecturel buildings.

Expérience fantastique: This picture is for the area in front of Escher in Het Paleis, been taken a few days ago, during a festival had been taken in place at the garden. The Area is so nice, full of trees, and free space to walk, do sport and do many activities.

Expérience fantastique: Escher Museum is so nice, ideally located in the center of Der Haag. The museum has a really good level on the subfloor where there are a cloakroom, toilets and a coffee shop. The other levels present the colossal work and evolution of this hard-work artist. There is a video room where you'll get the whole biography. The staff is aware and professional. A must see !

Expérience fantastique: If you like Escher, this is a must-see. If you don't know Escher, it's a great way to get to know his art. Gift shop is very expensive, and only accepts cards.

Expérience fantastique: One of my favourite places in La Haya.

Expérience fantastique: I'm a fan of Escher, so this was a great find for me. It's not a large museum - you can view all of it in a couple of hours. The museum's primary focus is (naturally) the history and art of M. C. Escher, but the museum is housed in the former palace of Queen Mother Emma so there is information about her and the palace throughout (but no exhibits). Some art influenced by Escher is included near the end of the exhibit. The on-site restaurant is mostly a coffee shop. It has bakery items and two grilled sandwich options, but not a place to get a nice lunch at.

Expérience fantastique: Brilliant collection and love that it is a house of weird staircases and over the top chandeliers. Staff were knowledgeable and very welcoming. The whole family enjoyed the museum, it was just the right size for our teens.

Expérience fantastique: What's not to like about Escher? This museum is jam packed with interesting aspects of his life and his works of art. There is an audio guide available online that you can access through your smartphone so don't forget to bring your headphones along. 3 floors of fascinating gems he created that puzzle the mind and require intense observation. Infinity and eternity are the main themes. Enjoy!

Expérience fantastique: Centrally located , across from park with benches. And restaurants nearby. Recommend to bring headset so you could listen to the tour /narration of several of Escher's works , they also sell them at the ticket counter . There are lockers , bathrooms downstairs . Not allowed to carry bags/purses , they go in the lockers, you are given a free token to use the lockers . There is QR code to download the narration of the drawings , and also a QR code to listen to 20 minute movie on Escher's life of you don't /unable to sit and watch it . Very interesting , amazing . Small coffee shop also downstairs where the lockers/bathroom are gift shop upstairs .

Expérience fantastique: An amazing museum with an unbelievable collection of Escher's works. The staff was friendly and informative.

Expérience fantastique: Escher's work has always captivated me; but to enjoy them in a palace setting with its own interesting history only made the experience all the more memorable. It's a small palace and the exhibit is rather humble so it's easy to enjoy your time there. Escher's creative process and progression as an artist were well explained though I left wanting to know more. How long did he take to conceive and sketch each of his designs? What was he like? How much money did he earn from his work? And what was his legacy? I guess I'll have to wait for the movie or the documentary but I am now a bigger fan than I ever thought possible.

Expérience fantastique: Great place to visit - fantastic exhibits in a beautiful building. In truth my wife is the Escher fan although I certainly appreciate his works. They do museums so well in the Netherlands and this is a first rate example. If you're in Den Haag, like art, and have some time, this place is worth a visit.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing museum, the building was once a Palace now serving as an exhibition for Escher's amazing art works. The setting and lighting of the museum is amazing just as the artworks. Do not forget to go all the way up to see the interactive floor too! The entrance fee is 11 euros for adults, students and children have a lower price. The staff is welcoming and nice too. It was an amazing experience. The museum is located in a 10-15 minute walk from the Den Haag Centraal Station, really easy walk. Museum has a central location. Ticket office closes at 16.30 so even though the museum is fairly small compared to others, better to enter beforehand. PS: you might get dizzy a little bit after visit due to all of the optical illusions.

Expérience positive: Located in a former palace in a leafy part of Den Haag, this museum is dedicated to the works of imaginative artist M C Escher. One of the best art museums in The Netherlands. It is quirky and cool. It costs 11€ to get inside. Bags must be left in the lockers at the basement. There is a cafe in the basement too, and clean toilets. There is an ongoing show by Andy Warhol too. There are some interactive installations on different floors as well. We had no idea who Escher was before visiting the museum. But were pretty happy that we visited. Highly recommend to everyone planning to visit the Hague. Do drop in. It's small but interesting.

Expérience fantastique: what an amazing experience and artist Escher is. His talent was incredible and his work is breathtaking. I noted some elderly seniors working as volunteers and I find that very endearing.

Expérience fantastique: I wasn’t very acquainted with Escher, to be honest, and this museum was a great immersion into his work. The collection is extensive (expect to spend 2 hours here to enjoy properly) and there’s a good audio guide you can download on the spot (there’s wifi available). They also an interactive section, and work from artists inspired by Escher. The contemporary lamps are very cool too A must for art lovers!

Expérience fantastique: awesome artwork of an artist who managed to be one of the first graphic designers. Amazing and mesmerising artwork. Not big (1 hour or so) and reasonable priced. Central building, with other things to see around.

Expérience fantastique: Fabulous!! A very well structured museum on the great work of M. C. Escher that also tells the history of the building the work it housed at. The third floor is mostly a “fun” area with activities based on the optical illusions of his work, very fun for children and adults alike.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum. The art is beautiful and intriguing. The later art of escher is very interesting and makes you question your perspective. The museum is also a great location. The house itself is beautiful. It has 3 levels of the art. The last floor has interactive features. You can take pictures and experience the perspectives of eschers art yourself. The museum was recommended to us by some friends and it was definitely worth it. We recommend it now as well.

Expérience fantastique: Perfect Afternoon; A stroll on the Lange Voorhout, a visit of my favorite ´little' museum in The Hague, and closing with some boutique shopping and drinks at the Denneweg. Besides the well known works of Escher such as the Metamorphosis series, there is an extensive collection of his other works as well. The palace itself is a tour on it's own, and thoughout the museum there is a superbe ongoing exposition of the (weird &) wonderful chandeliers of Hans van Bentem. *The museum is well adapted to Covid measurements*

Expérience fantastique: M.C. Escher Museum, master of perspective. Located in den Haag, Zuid Holland, Netherlands. A must see stop on any trip to the Netherlands. One of the great Dutch artists of all time. Many of his original works are housed here and you are able to get up close and personal with them. Also several photo opportunities to put yourself into some of his amazing artwork.

Expérience fantastique: There's no reason to not visit this place. Highly recommended. Get ready to get your mind blown by some extraordinary optical illusions. Buy the combination ticket with Madurodam and save some bucks. Also, if you are with a lot of friends, then you can make pretty good memories at one of their illusion area.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing museum of an amazing man. Escher made extraordinary art that you have to look twice, sometimes thrice at to really see what's going on. Great museum for a quiet trip, although it's not a big one. You can spend about 3h here and then you'll have seen it all. The 3rd floor is nice to try things yourself. Not really a great museum for kids under 10 as sometimes you'd really have to understand it. There's also a few rooms with information about the palace itself

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful, very interesting museum. Llts of enterntainment for children and adults. Building is also nice, lots of mivies and interactive games. So, even if u think, that u had seen all the works of Esher on internet, it is still worth visiting this place.

Expérience fantastique: I didn't know who this artist was but my friend wanted to go really bad. In the first few minutes of walking around, I recognized his art and decided I really like some of his less famous works. The building is also historic and interesting. The lights are cool too but not Escher's to my knowledge. I'd go again.

Expérience fantastique: This is the historic Lange Voorhout Palace, which was beautifully built in the early 18th century and served as a Royal Residence during the 19th and 20th centuries. The property now permanently exhibits the works of C.S. Escher, the 19th-century Dutch graphic artist who famously creating mathematically-inspired, surreal images. You can visit the Escher Exhibition at the palace from 11am to 5pm from Tuesdays to Wednesday daily. The palace is closed on Mondays. Entry fee is €10 per adult. There are three floors of palace rooms, each with period furnishing and text explanations for how each room was used. The various rooms includes artworks of Escher organised based on medium. We really enjoyed seeing the various artworks, particularly those which we were already familiar. You can think of Escher as calculating and organised Magritte. His works are so very interesting to view and figure out. There is a video about Escher and his work on the second floor. This is worth watching as part of your visit. We spent an hour and 15 minutes at the palace browsing through the Escher exhibition. It was excellent, something we look forward to doing again the next time we are in Den Haag.

Expérience fantastique: Both the building history and Escher artwork is incredible. On entering (€10) theres bathrooms, free lockers (tokens at the cafe) and a cafe downstairs. After dropping off your bags you can make your way through the building looking at the artwork and reading history of the building. Not only is the art organized but there is descriptions in each room. I found it incredible and the art is amazing! The 3rd and final floor even feature exhibits you can be a part of, its fun and follows the same themes as the rest of the museum.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful museum. I have been here a few times now and it stays interesting. His drawings are so puzzling and natural at the same time! The building itself is wonderfully done up as well. It is a great place for adults and children alike and there are a few interactive pieces at the top floor.

Expérience fantastique: A stunning collection of original sketch books, lithographs and woodcut prints. We spent about three hours going through the collection which covers early studies and landscapes from Italy, and also includes the amazing tessellation pieces and some commissions. We took the train from Amsterdam and was treated to seeing tulip fields on the way. It's a graphic designers pilgrimage.

Stepan Chizhov 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: I loved this museum. Escher's works and palace complement each other in the very best way. Walking through the three floors of the floors of the palace you will not only see Escher's graphic works, but will find out more about how he became the genius of printed graphics he was.
