Expérience fantastique: Awesome for the kids. There's always something the kids can interact with while learning.

Expérience fantastique: This is one of the most interactive museums ever. The kids loved it so much that they didn't want to leave! A short documentary movie at the Omniversum (type of IMAX) is included in the ticket price. When visiting the museum and watching a movie you can easily spend the entire morning or afternoon there (we spent over 3hrs)!

Expérience fantastique: Lot of learning for all ages, touching moon stone is very unique & memorable experience for kids. Worth to visit. It will take at least couple of hours to cover entire museum.

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic place to take young to teenage kids to learn about The Hague and the world at large. Divided into sections on various topics - including human evolution, the north pole, vulcanism and plate-tectonics, energy and sound - and sporting an area for changing temporary exhibits, a day at the Museon is sure to be a lot of fun, both for kids and adults alike. The museum has a broad collection of both natural and cultural objects (both archaeological and anthropological, as well as present-day) to tell many interesting and societally relevant stories, made all the more accessible to young children through the means of well thought-through interactive displays (both digital and analogue). It is this that sets the Museon apart from a traditional natural history, archaeology or anthropology museum. For the well thought-out displays targeted at kids there will never be a dull moment, with kids continuously ready to explore the next section. It is undoubtedly for this reason that the Museon is also a popular place for local school classes to visit on educational outings, although the museum organises frequent publically-attendable, child-oriented workshops too. And then there are, of course, the impressive sperm whale and Allosaurus (replica) skeletons that are not to be missed. All in all, the Museon is guaranteed to provide an exciting and memorable outing.

Expérience fantastique: Museon is a museum for science and culture in The Hague, Netherlands. It has collections in the domains of geology, biology, archaeology, history, science and ethnology. The museum was initiated in 1904 by the newspaper director Frits van Paasschen, who wanted to establish a museum where children could learn about industry. Although science and technology became important domains for the museum, the original idea has never been realized. Under the museum's first director, the geologist Herman van Cappelle, the collection policy moved towards natural history and ethnology. Van Paasschen's idea of a museum with a strong education mission however was implemented from the very beginning, expressed by the museum's previous name ‘Museum for Education’. From the start the museum organised lessons for school classes, based on the visual tools that are provided by the museum's collection. Around 1910 the museum was also the first organisation in The Netherlands that programmed educational movies, an initiative that led to the foundation of the first school cinema in the country. Starting as a private museum the ‘Museum for Education’ was taken over by the municipality of The Hague in 1920. In 1933, biologist Niko Tinbergen, provided the museum with a collection of objects from the Inuit in Greenland. The museum moved several times, until the municipality had its present building built in 1985, by the design by architect WG Quist. The name Museon also dates from 1985. In 1997 the museum was privatised again.

Expérience fantastique: A museum, an experience. Definitely what you want to achieve from a museum outing. Engaging for young and adults at multi levels: cultural, entertaining and informative. I greatly recommend it for kids of all ages. You can spend there almost a full day, with a lunch break at the café.

Expérience fantastique: Great place for kids and family, irrespective of your age, you will enjoy this small yet vast Museum. It have lots of section, though small but have lot of information . At grond floor, it's music especial so you can engage with lot of instrument and can see few pieces from the history. On 1st floor, lot of info about planet , geography, history of Netherlands, space, under water life, list if endless.. After doing this museum if you have energy left( which is difficult) you can move to omniversum, again a excellent and out of world experience. Highly recommend.. Enjoy

Expérience fantastique: Very interactive museum for children. It's not too big but just enough for a nice afternoon with the kids. 2 hours or maybe half hour more if it's your first time and want to see everything in detail is enough and great to combine with a short movie afterwards at the 360 degree cinema next door. Everything works with reservation at the moment.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum, a great place for kids, a lot of things to play. A lot of knowledge to know. And as such a big inside museum, there are fewer visitors than in Amsterdam, which is great for us. It’s worthy to spend a whole day there.

Expérience fantastique: Nice for kids until maybe 15. Not as interactive as advertised and small. But the NationalGeographic section is always great.

Expérience fantastique: Lovely interactive place for children to engage and have fun. Amazing temporary and permanent exhibitions, informative and well thought out. Lots of games related to the topics for the little ones to really get their hands on each topic.

Expérience fantastique: Wow, if there has to be a museum with lots of different topics yet catch the attention of children with informative play, this is the place to go. Also for adults enough to see and learn. Different topics have their own seperate room: you walk from the ice into the middle east, to a room about water usage, or how we might eat bugs in the future. It isvery interactive. This time down stairs there was a whole exposition about space - set up in such a fun way yet still informative.

Expérience fantastique: Definitely loved this museum. The photo expeditions are always great and the play ground for children (also little bit for adults ) are educational and a lot of fun! On the upper floor you can learn a lot about the world and loved every topic! I recommend everyone to take a look. They also have a free tour we sadly arrived too late. We wanted to join but got distracted by one of the rooms reading and looking at everything until we noticed the tour group We weren't disappointed at all but I can definitely imagine it would be a fun tour! Hope everyone will enjoy this museum as much as I did!

Expérience fantastique: A great exhibition centered on the human impact and globalism. Lots of interactive pieces for kids. Note that only 1/3 of exhibits have English descriptions, leaving kids disinterested. Also, this building is adjacent to the GEM contemporary art museum.

Expérience fantastique: I'm not usually a fan of art museums, but this science museum had me entranced for HOURS, I really couldn't say enough to recommend this place. Here are some points to consider: 1. My sister and I stumbled onto this place as an accident during a rainy day. We needed something to do while the weather wasn't great, and we saw this walking down the road. It was a PERFECT was to spend a rainy day as all of the exhibits are inside and not weather dependent. 2. There is A LOT to see. I'd recommend a whole day, open-to-close, in this museum. 3. There were 3 exhibits when I was there: 1, A medieval themed exhibit on kings and medieval soldiers; 2, I national geographic exhibit on photographed animals (including life-sized animals that were taxidermied, information on population statistics, endangered ratings, and very high resolution photos); 3, A massive science exhibit on how to help the environment and the human population as a whole. #3 was certainly my favorite as it is VERY interactive. I mean you literally interact with every single station. It's fantastic and incredibly informative. 4. The attached cafe is really cute. They sell coffee, sweet or savory pastries, and some fruit. They didn't seem to do whole meals, and they didn't restock the cafe well toward the end of the day, so if you do plan on spending the whole day here, I recommend bringing your own food. 5. Although they didn't have brochures in English, all of the exhibits had translations from Dutch to English and I believe German. All-in-all, I definitely recommend spending a day here, either by yourself or with the whole family!

Expérience fantastique: A great place for kids of ages 5-105. Everything is interactive in a surprising way with lots to learn about the past, present and future world around us. Prices are reasonable as is parking although it can be difficult to find a spot. It's not a huge museum and yet you can spend 4-5 hours here easily. The collection changes frequently so it's fun to return again and again.

Expérience fantastique: Lovely science museum aimed at children but fun for parents as well. Situated in a row of museums, there's something for everyone. Youngest in our group 19month, happy to run around looking at the exhibitions, without having to worry about touching anything. Interactive medieval exhibition was a hit for all.
