Expérience fantastique: Interesting collection with well-known and relatively unknown painters to the general public. The combination of beautiful paintings and a beautiful interior make this museum a real winner. Moreover, this stately building is located in a beautiful location on the Hofvijver.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice to step into the life of Mr Bredius in this way. Small museum and when we were there it was nice and quiet. The true-to-life paintings are very impressive. How one can paint a drop of water or a silk fabric so beautifully, as if it came out of the canvas...

Expérience fantastique: Very nice overview of paintings from our maritime culture. Many beautiful works. We were allowed to keep the booklet with the exhibition (with photos of all paintings).

Expérience fantastique: This little gem should no go unnoticed when you visit the Hague. You can find here some splendid Jan Steen paints and even Rembrandt. The museum is named after Abraham Bredius and is situated on the Lange Vijverberg in The Hague in a 18th-century Herenhuis interior with period furnishings.

Expérience fantastique: This museum holds a great collection of art in the condition as back when it was the collectors home. The works are as great as any you'd find in a more famous museum, so it's definitely worth going. It can be seen in about 30 minutes.

Expérience fantastique: Intimate museum in a 19th century house decorated in The Hague opposite the Hofvijver. We saw 'Under the spell of the sea', a collection of marine poems that a Dutch diplomat collected in front of his house in London. Impressive paintings in an appropriate environment, where you can take a seat on the chairs.

Expérience fantastique: Nice, intimate museum, directly opposite the Hofvijver in the center of The Hague. Fun for kids with a treasure hunt and pencil in hand. Staff knows how to tell inspiring stories about the paintings.

Expérience fantastique: Today December 14th an exhibition about 17th century maritime painters. More than 60 maritime paintings can now be admired from a private collection

Expérience fantastique: What a unique building. Usually it is fairly quiet in the museum, but this exhibition about ships with a book included in the entrance fee with excellent information about the paintings promises a lot for the future. When approaching an attendant, this often turns out to be an enthusiastic person with a lot of substantive background knowledge.

Expérience fantastique: ... Bredius was a wealthy man, so the floors of his mansion are full of beautiful antique objects of furniture, paintings, watches and porcelain of other attributes of the interior of a rich Dutch house from the 18th and 19th centuries. Walk, admire, admire. Not a very popular museum among the general public, there are no queues at the entrance. It is located in the alley, behind the pond, where Binnenhof. Do not pass by, as they say. Lovers of painting - note ... Or so: The basis of the museum collection is the personal collection of the historian and collector Abraham Bredius. From 1895 to 1922 he led the Royal Art Gallery of the Mauritshuis. After the death of Bredius (1946), according to his will, a collection of works of art of the XVII-XVIII centuries. was transferred to the city. Today the museum is located in a picturesque 18th century mansion, off the shores of Lake Hoffeifer. The collection includes paintings by Rembrandt and Jan Wall, porcelain and silverware, as well as antique furniture ...

Expérience fantastique: A small but remarkable private museum .. very interesting works ... Yes, and tourists don’t particularly like it .. there is an opportunity to admire painting ... From the history of the museum: The 18th century mansion demonstrates the collection of the famous art historian Dr. Abraham Bredius (1855-1946 ). He is mainly known as an explorer of 17th century Dutch art and a long-term director of the museum Mauritshuis. In 1946, the collection was posthumously transferred to the City Hall Den Haag and was open to the public. The basis of the collection was laid by Bredius' grandfather, who had an interesting collection of porcelain, silver and paintings by artists of the 17th century. This initiative was continued by the art historian himself, who was an avid collector. The collection, of course, reflects the tastes of its collector. Along with the paintings by Rembrand, Jan Steen, Aert van der Neer, Adrien van Osvade, Meindert Hobbema and many other famous and not very Golden Age masters, the museum’s collection displays amazing furniture, porcelain, silver and crystal ...

Expérience fantastique: Impressed by the many works in this museum. Here you can still admire a Rembrandt and Vermeer in peace, without hordes of tourists like in the Rijks. The creation of the collection is a special story in itself. Tour for a group highly recommended!

Expérience positive: A small museum with lots of painting They also have Rembrandt painting Its a bit packed and sometimes you l felt I'm about to bump into an art piece. 30 min is enough. Bad artificial lighting. Lots of reflection on paintings and it can get irritating
