Expérience fantastique: Very nice aquarium combined with a museum of a maritime history. Very relaxing experience.

Expérience fantastique: First you start with museum floor, very nicely exploring Basque relation with a see. Only then you move to two floors with actual aquarium. The best spot to sit and observe is close to the entrance of middle floor (the one on which you start the actual aquarium tour).

Expérience fantastique: This is both an aquarium and a nautical museum, so the first half has displays about piracy, whaling (including two whale skeletons), ship design, etc. The aquarium part is very good too, with loads of local and exotic life. My only quibble is that I wish the gift shop was bigger!

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting, my daughter liked it very much, many types of fish, nice interior

Expérience fantastique: Great fun especially with kids. First floor is a maritime ⚓ museum. Later on you'll have the aquarium. Please be aware the tunnel is only 2m high in the center.

Expérience fantastique: Great place to visit with kids. Amazing huge aquariums with sharks and lots of huge fishes. Great introduction to ship building and whale hunting.

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful experience! Visited the venue with the family, during a visit in the region. Normal price tickets, no long queues, excellent nautical/fishing museum, extraordinary walk through tunnel in huge water tank filled with all kinds of maritime life forms from tiny shrimps to huge tiger sharks! Personal audio tour also available in case you want to. Totally recommended if you have 2-3 hours to spend in the area..

Expérience fantastique: Very cool aquarium. I have been to several, but this looks pretty well built and it looks like the fish have enough space.

Expérience fantastique: Nice Maritime Museum & Aquarium

Expérience fantastique: Great mix of museum and aquarium tanks. First you will learn about the first time humans sailed around the earth, followed by local fishing and boat racing tradition. Then they switch to natural history ans slowly move towards the fish in the aquarium. Especially the 1.8 million liter tank with local fish is amazing. Can recommend a visit.

Expérience fantastique: Worth to visit. Museum on top, aquarium on the base floor. Excellent for everyone.

Expérience fantastique: Small aquarium and museum. Kids (8, 9) loved it. Beautiful views. Great 2-hour kid-centric activity.

Expérience fantastique: Not the biggest aquarium but some really good large tanks with great variety of fish/species which we loved. Saw some reviews complaining about the museum bit before you get to the tanks, thought they were quite interesting so not problematic.

Expérience fantastique: Small and cozy aquarium, we went around in about one hour, kids ages 11 and 6 enjoyed it plenty. Didn't see a turtle that we wanted to see but loved it anyway. Got 2 turtle souvenirs in their shop.

Expérience positive: Kids will still love it, it has the tunnel to see rays, sharks, etc, but it's not as big or impressive as some of the bigger aquariums we've visited, so worth a visit if you got kids ????

Expérience fantastique: Very nice place! Very beautiful and interesting. Recommended to anyone

Expérience fantastique: I was wondering if our 1,5 year old daughter is not too young for the visit in Aquarium, but we all had a blast. She enjoyed a lot the fish tanks, but even some parts of exposition were catching her attention.

Expérience fantastique: Brilliant aquarium, well set out, loads of tanks. The big tank with glass tunnel was brilliant, got some great selfies with the sharks. I would say it's better than the London Aquarium.

Expérience fantastique: Great Aquarium with a lot of different kinds of fish. It also has a 360° tunnel where there are fish everywhere around you. The price was ok. Overall a very nice experience. Would recommend.

Expérience fantastique: Really enjoyed our time at the aquarium. Should be on "To Do" list of every visitor to Donastasio/San Sebastian. Includes maritime historical exhibits, too. With a full maritime museum next door.

Expérience fantastique: Highly recommended and very educational. Spent well over 2 hours here. Would recommend getting the audio guide as it has more information In and is a lovely easy way to see the museum. Very clean, well kept and tidy. Staff are very helpful.

Expérience fantastique: A great place to learn about the sea life with many species of fish and their origin and specialities detailed. The place is interactive for children and there are shows organized by the management to teach more about the marine life. Ideal location for the aquarium and a wide range of fish to look at.

Expérience fantastique: I have been in several aquariums, in California, Wisconsin, Illinois. This one in San Sebastian was very unique: 1) it has a large collection of miniatures for ships, and naval transports, whale skeletons, and several fossils. 2) amazing views to the bay 3) large aquarium with two bull sharks, long tube to walk and feel as you are interacting with nature 4) good info in the species A few small cons: 1) parking is very limited. Only in the streets.and limited to a few hours 2) very turistic area with overpriced restaurants around. Be sure to walk a bit A must visit when traveling in Sam Sebastian

Expérience fantastique: A mix of nautical history and beautiful tanks. There is even a tunnel to walk through. One floor is the history, one floor is all regional tanks and the bottom floor is tropical water.

Expérience fantastique: We had a cold and rainy day, so the choice was made to go to the aquarium - spent there about 90 minutes and saw everything.

Expérience fantastique: It is a nice place to visit with kids. They enjoy watching fishes. I myself I saw different species of fishes I only saw in TVs. But for sure take time to visit a low speed if you want to be able to stop a read information about each type of fishes you will see. There they said that kids used to pay to spend the night in the tunnel watching fishes the whole night. I think it can be a good plan. The Aquarium is located in the city center of Donosti and close to Public transportation networks. You won't miss it anyway. Just use your GPS or ask around.

Expérience fantastique: More impressive than we thought. Lovely visit and info and animals

Expérience fantastique: I loved this aquarium. Both for the live specimens as well as for the museum itself, as you can learn about the history of fishing in the area and see historical ships, weapons and other things of interest. It's worth a visit. It's very didactic. There is a huge whale skeleton that gives you a perspective of reality. And then to be able to see the seabed, the giant fish tanks...it's wonderful!

Expérience fantastique: Great time, wonderful for kids. Very clean and priced well.

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic place to visit. Perfect for rainy days or for when you need a break from the sun. There are discount prices for some people, and there is even an audio guide. The aquarium is divided into two parts: the maritime museum and the aquarium itself. The naval museum is fantastic. All explanations are in Basque, Spanish, English, and French. The history of San Sebastian is explained thanks to a collection of historic objects, pictures, and replicas. Some kids might love it; some might find it boring. It depends on the child. The aquarium part has a nice variety of marine animals, with jellyfish being my favorites. There is a tunnel where fish and sharks surround the visitor, and you can even pet some of the starfish and fish. All in all, a beautiful place with loads of things to do. Entirely accessible for wheelchairs and prams.

Expérience fantastique: 360 viewing, amazing. Good for all mobilities as has lift and accessible toilets. 13€ good entry price, great to know history as well as see local fish and tropical too. Gift shop can do with a swerve as not a lot to choose from.

Expérience fantastique: Fun museum on top of the actual aquarium. There is a town pride in the establishment and it shows. It's a great historical record of the fishermen, soldiers and privateers that lived here for centuries.

Gauri Shanker 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Good aquarium - for both kids and adults. Museum is interesting too.

Max Boshoer 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Although small to medium sized maritime museum and aquarium, it has its own charm. Great for kids and also to get familier with the history of the Basque and the sea.

Deb Luckyone 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Amazing oldest aquarium in Europe! Worth it and really cool either for kids or ocean lovers or scientists! It has also a part with fossils and explanations on navigation and ships, which is really interesting.

Expérience fantastique: Nice family activity on a cloudy or rainy day. It will take you around 2 hours. Lockers for your stuff on site. While you're down there don't forget to climb the mountain first or afterwards for some breathtaking views of the city.

Expérience fantastique: Great exhibits, well organized, my 5 yrs old kid loved it. Took us about 1.5hrs. Has elevator and lots of places to rest

Jess McConnell 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Happily surprised at the quality of this aquarium. They have done a great job of capturing maritime history of this important port and of the Basque people. Lots of shipodels covering the active time of the port. After seeing the history, you are immersed in the aquarium itself and there is a wide variety of exhimits and animals. If you are in the area, this is a must - see!

nena matulić 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Underground aquarium is very special place in San Sebastin! You could see big sharks swimming, all kinds of fish, even nemo fish , and on the first floor there are wooden ships! It is very interesting for kids and for the adults. One hour is enough to see everything

Expérience fantastique: Cool place to visit with children. Fantastic the tank with sharks. Recommended!

Expérience fantastique: It was a very exciting visit there. We saw many magnificient fish and interesting boat models.

stephanie moore 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: We were two adults and four children.(10,4,3,3 years old) We all enjoyed our visit enormously. A lot of people disliked the museum part with the model ships and fishing hooks but we found it very interesting. The fishes were beautiful, the different array kept us all happy, from the tiny Nemo clown fish to sharks and rays. The tunnels were amazing feeling of being in the water with them. Over all really pleased we went. We found parking hard, we have an oversized car, no underground parking for us but here are the GPS coordinates 43.3267538 - 1.9904435 for some great parking stops in a five minute walk from the aquarium.
