Expérience fantastique: Incredibly friendly staff with enthusiasm for glass art. We saw the Wim Oepts exhibition, which - in addition to the impressive permanent collection - is really worth seeing. When we were on our way out, we heard that the Museum House was just opening for visitors, so we could also view the private collection.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful museum with a beautiful glass collection. The Wim Oepts exhibition is currently highly recommended.

Jeannette Hartgerink 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Museum Jan has until 12.02.2023 to see the exhibition of WIM OEPTS. The abstracted colorful landscapes are painted with passion. Its yellow and dark sky in particular is worth examining more closely. People from Amstelveen can enter for free.

Expérience fantastique: The wind howls across the country, ideal weather to visit a museum. Nice collection of glass and other art. Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful collection and the coffee and tea (and cookies)

Expérience fantastique: Beautifully located museum in the old heart of Amstelveen. Friendly employees and beautiful permanent collection. The rooms radiate tranquility and the glassware can be admired from every angle. Finally, a nice museum shop with beautiful glassware for your home.

Expérience fantastique: The fantastic exhibition of Sam Drukker is coming to an end, but Floris Hovers is nice again. He makes a Madurodam out of funny houses. Also take a look at Rob Brunnmayer's wind-mobiles: always on the move!

BoB Jellema 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: A friendly museum with interesting exhibits. Sam Drukker's exhibition was impressively beautiful and the themes well explained. The glass collection continues to hold its appeal, even when you visit the Jan museum more often. Bernard Heesen ao. always attracts us.

Why Not 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Not too big a museum with a unique glass collection. Not everything, but most of it is beautiful. Temporary exhibitions are also impressive.

Expérience fantastique: As with many places, I had never been here. The current exhibition of Sam Drukker lured me to Amstelveen. Both well worth it. So if I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely go again.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful spacious layout. Colorful, and a wonderful collection of art. Joining Jan and Rob themselves is of course the icing on the cake! Beautiful designs that they can talk about wonderfully. The Sam Drukker exhibition was also beautiful! Museum Jan that will make you happy!

Expérience fantastique: I often visit this beautiful museum, especially with a huge collection of GLASS. Wonderfully beautiful. Good exhibition again! Free with museum annual pass. Parking nearby. Cycling is also recommended here next to one of the cozy outdoor terraces. No NS trains, but buses are from Amsterdam.

Expérience fantastique: There is hardly any modern glass art on display in Dutch museums. Fortunately, Museum Jan is an exception, with several beautiful examples. In addition, there are also temporary exhibitions, such as favored the work of painter Sam Drukker.

Expérience fantastique: Nice compact museum with collected glass art and changing exhibitions. Visited Jan Jansen shoes for 60 years. To our surprise, Jan Jansen was there himself. There is a nice shop with glass. There are no places to eat and drink and that is not a problem either, because you walk 5 meters out of the museum and there is a nice choice of places where this is possible. Free parking is available around the corner.

Ien Meuleman 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Another very nice exhibition! Shoes by Jan Jansen and Dutch Design! Furthermore, the beautiful glassware that is always there. And also very nice people who work there! In 2018 I was at the exhibition of work by Walasse Ting! Such cheerful and happy art. I say go! If you come from far, you can now combine it with the Cobra Museum. Now Frida Kahlo! Also great!

Expérience fantastique: This museum deserves more attention. The spaces are beautiful and light. The current exhibition is very worthwhile.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum with always surprising exhibitions of interesting artists. Also a beautiful permanent collection with prominent glass artists, sculptors and others. In 2018/2019 a temporary exhibition with work by Lita Cabellut. Free with the Museumjaarkaart. Visited Willem van Veldhuizen expo in March 2019.

Expérience fantastique: What a beautiful museum The exhibition of Tjalf Sparnaay is beautiful. Nice that an introduction film by the artist is shown. It gives depth to the modern still lifes that he makes. Highly recommended to take a look.

Expérience fantastique: A really nice museum of art, some lovely glassware, sculptures and paintings. Quite a large space but very well laid out. I spent a very enjoyable two hours here.

Expérience fantastique: The penultimate day of the exhibition of Tjalf Sparnaay in museum JAN in Amstelveen. I had to see that! And oh oh oh how beautiful it was. Painted in such detail. Just look at the photos.

Expérience fantastique: If you are in Amstelveen, you should visit museum Jan. They really have beautiful glassworks.

wil van herpen 3 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A nice museum for windmobile on roof terrace, glass art and paintings. Modern Art. Now there is an exhibition of hyper mega-realism. Until 19 Jan 2020. Tjalk Sparnaay paints food on a large scale, paying attention to the techniques of the great masters. You can eat off the wall. His latest works, photos, collages and/or cut-outs are also on display. Large enlargements with the Berlin Wall as subject. Hans Kanters fine painter makes beautiful works that are better than the works of Tjak Sparnaay. More creativity and imagination. 3 beautiful works on the upper floor.

Expérience fantastique: Luckily this museum is located in the quite charming historic center of Amstelveen (not the new center with museum Cobra - you can get at both places a combined ticket for a very good price btw and they are in roughly 15 min walking distance from each other). "Luckily" because around the corner is the historic railway station which is now a restaurant/café/bar which I would not have discovered otherwise and luckily because in Paris, Dubai or Melbourne I might have had overlooked this hidden gem. On top most beautiful gift shop I have seen in a long time... And, yes, indeed also very friendly and helpful staff.

Expérience fantastique: Glass sculptures mainly. Museumkaart accepted. Interesting small museum dedicated to glass work. Off the busy touristic tracks.

Roel Rakhorst 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful museum with surprising glass art and a new exhibition by painter Willem van Veldhuizen. Beautifully hushed realism but so much has been added in the paintings that you have to experience them. Museum originated from director of Tomado. Recognizable household items from the 60s and 70s. If I had known this, I would have kept it . Nice employees. Worth visiting uncle.

Expérience fantastique: A wonderful display of glass art, fantasy paintings, wind sculptures and other modern art often overlooked. A moderate walk or short bus ride from the Cobra museum. It packs a lot into a modest space.

Richard Lloyd 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Been a friend of this museum for 20 years and seen it grow and grow. Attracts top modern Dutch artists with exhibitions rotating in and out every 6 weeks or so. Also a fine permanent collection of glass and abstract paintings by Sam Francis.
