Expérience fantastique: Bottom floor the experience was good fun. My only gripe being I booked for 3 and arrived at 2 as it was not at all busy I asked if I could go round early but was persuaded not too by the staff at reception. I don't think they fully understood me as they were perplexed when I turned up an hour later maybe I should of shouted a bit louder, anyway not bad.

Expérience fantastique: A very informative and well presented museum that explained the events surrounding Operation Market Garden with clarity and detail.

Tomas Crespo 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Small but very complete museum. The story of the Market Garden operation is nicely told. The "Airborne Experience" was a nice touch after seeing the upper floors. After viaiting the museum you can follow "De Perimeter" path, which takes you through the different WWII landmarks around the area.

Expérience fantastique: For anyone interested in WW II, and in particular in the battle for Arnhem, this is a must! Beautifully set up museum with the "piece the resistance" in the cellar. Wait time 1 hr+ Reservation recommended Yes … More

Expérience fantastique: Well presented exhibits; good factual/compassionate balance; great use of multi-media resources.

Expérience fantastique: I wont post the millions of photos I have as then there would be no need to go. The airborne experience was absolutely fantastic and out the box thinking! You experience the plane with sounds and visuals then leave and walk through a war zone and get to see here and experience what it would have been like. Great gift shop. Has a podcaster to change the language so anyone understands the language.

Expérience fantastique: For anyone with an interest in ww2 history then this is an excellent place to visit to learn about the Arnham bridge exercise aka "a bridge too far".There is plenty to see and with an interactive device you soon learn all the history of the area.Outside there is a dining area offering simple snacks and drinks. As well as dutch, english is also spoken.

Expérience fantastique: The basement exhibition is brilliant. Lots over cool exhibits and artifacts whilst delivering an emotionally powerful message.

Expérience fantastique: In 2004 when I participated in the 4-daagse march in Nijmegen for the first time, my commander said, that any walker on the team, who had not seen this museum, should go. We did and the learned. Ever since I have taken all first time walkers on our team to visit this museum. It is very breathtaking to see how the young walkers change attitude from entering the museum to exiting. They realize suddenly what we owe these soldiers who fought for our freedom. It is a very interesting museum giving a broad introduction to a terrible war and especially the basement is breath taking.

Expérience fantastique: Well displayed and explained pieces by text as well as audiowise. Movie shows Operation Market Garden in a clear way, seeing what took place where and when. The basement is really well done to in a safe way give a glimps of walking around in different settings of the war. In the city center of Arnhem you could add the Airborn at the bridge Kiosk next to the John Frost bridge. They have a nice setup with TV screens (good audio) and pictures of the area after the bombing and which few building had some remains still standing. Nice and engaging employees who are willing to show and tell! The airborne museum is 100% worth visiting, for the Heroes of our liberation as well as the quality of the museum and its surroundings. ~ Lest we forget...!

Expérience fantastique: Took my son to the museum today and was not expecting much.I have to say, this is probably one of the best museums we have visited. The museum is not piled with relics, time and effort has been put into the exhibitions to make sure the story is engaging for all. Some museums use locations as an attraction and don't bother with the content. Not this one.A brilliant museum

Expérience fantastique: A well presented museum that tells the story of a brave but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to shorten the war. Helpful friendly staff. Also suggest a visit to the nearby CWGC cemetery

Expérience fantastique: A MUST SEE experience for those who want to experience the Battle of Arnhem. I love the interaction. Bring your own headphones and get the interactive tour. Don’t miss the basement experience.

Michael Deligiannis 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: A well curated collection, dedicated to the history of the British 1st Airborne Division, during operation Market Garden. The "Airborne Experience" exhibition on the basement allows the visitor to catch a glimpse of what these great men went through.

Expérience fantastique: Don't miss the Airborne Experience on the lowest underground level. You don't learn anything there but the story sort of comes alive.

Expérience fantastique: This museum is a must if you are ever in the area. The artifacts they have inside are amazing with lots of history. There is also a good interactive zone in the basement. There are also some items outside. There is a walk you can do around grounds but I didn't have time as I was only passing through. €15 entry but service personnel do get a discounted entry.

Expérience fantastique: Very impressive museum about operation Market Garden with a lot of personal stories from the People who participated in it. The museum building was the allied headquarters in those days. The experiance is an absolute must. You board a glider and when it has "landed" you are in the Middleton of the battle.

Expérience fantastique: The museum had a complete refab, it looks magnificent. A lot of attention to detail to put it into its old style.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been here a couple of times and now it’s under renovation to become much better. I enjoy the walk around the ground, especially after the museum tour as you get more understanding of the different positions the allied had compared to the axis. And also it’s very lovely scenery during both autumn and summer. Double check that it’s open on their homepage before you book a trip here.

Expérience fantastique: So informative and really well presented in about 4 languages. The airborne experience was very atmospheric. Inexpensive souvenir shop

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic museum that really pulls you in and gives you a feeling of being there (albeit in a far safer environment). The information is in Dutch, German, Polish and English. There's a cafe serving the usual sandwiches, tea and coffee. A huge emphasis has been placed on reenactment and putting you there during the campaign, as a paratrooper and as a Dutch resistance fighter. A must visit.

Expérience fantastique: This used to be a luxurious hotel which interiors can be seen on old BW photes. It was an HQ of British paratroopers who tried to secure eight bridged during the operation Market Garden in September 1944.

Expérience fantastique: An amazing place full of wonderful information available in different forms such as audio, video, memorabilia and the best of all was the basement where they have a walk through experience of the war torn streets with mood lighting and visual/audio effects. Well worth a visit!

Expérience fantastique: Ive been here a few times but always learn more everytime i return. From the medal displays to uniforms and weapon collections its very very good. Great to see the original building being used to remember the men who died here. The gift shop has a great selection of items and the cafe is worth a stop on ots own. The apple tart is amazing.

Expérience fantastique: A thought provoking experience. You need at least two hours to get the most out of the visit. Accounts from all sides explored from the German veterans, the Allied forces, the Resistance (which was very interesting) to the inhabitant who lived in the town. Make sure you make the time to visit the War Cemetery.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice place to visit and spend you time if you love to know the history and past events of the city and country... I liked the concept of total museum and don't want to spoil ur surprise here... Surrounding place is also very nicely maintain with a touch of wildlife and nature which is rarely seen in middle of a city... A must visit for those who would love to know the historic background of Arnhem city.

Expérience fantastique: I turned up with only 30 min left before closing so head to trace through. But it was a really moving place. I will go back. When I left I rode down to the Frost bridge. There is also a museum there. Next time.

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic! It's quite a few years since visiting this wonderful historic place. My father was in Para 2 and we visited every September for years. It is bigger and better, excellent!
