Expérience fantastique: Well known organized museum with unique parts of Ancient Greek city of Militos in Minor Asia and the walls of Babylon. Exceptional rare ancient Assyrian crafts . It also has enough things after 1200ad from Near East which are not so impressive as the previous mentioned. The museum constructed 100 years and more in order to satisfy the needs of its early basic needs and items which were reconstructed.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing museum. You can spend hours slowly walking and admiring the exhibitions. Must see in Berlin . Recommend to buy combined ticket for all museums on Museum Island. Even if you visit 2 only it's still good deal.

Expérience fantastique: Fascinating museum with Egyptian, Middle eastern art dating back multiple centuries bc

Expérience fantastique: If you are planning to visit all museums at the museum Island, it's cheaper to buy the ticket that give you access to all of them, instead of individual tickets. The Pergamon is very interesting and you can spend a long time there if you are interested in all the details explained by the audio guide. There is also a restaurant/ coffee shop, lockers and bathroom inside the building

Expérience fantastique: One of the best museums in the world for certain eras of the near ancient east. The visit alone is worth it for the reconstructed Ishtar gate (as now seen in a major Marvel motion picture - not that Disney/Marvel does much more than render it as a backdrop for pure fantasy). There is also a Roman forum in the facility since there's nowhere else on museum island to stash such a large assembly. Be certain to check out an audio guide after purchasing your ticket. Many artifacts are only labeled in German so if you are not fluent the audio guide will be your primary source of information. It also goes into much more depth on certain topics and occasionally will display maps or play music. There are a few bilingual signs for some of the more significant items. Google translate/lens and such can also be valuable tools for the non-German reading visitor. I've visited twice about a decade apart. There were some exhibits closed on the second visit due to refurbishment, but even then, the museum is absolutely worth it.

Expérience fantastique: Really nice museum. I just had trouble figuring out how to get in to it. You have to enter in another museum to get access. And there was no signs that indicated that outside.

Expérience fantastique: A lot of interesting ancient materials. Not only the main attraction, Babylon, is quite nice, but also other Ancient temples and materials are really enriching. Upstairs you can also find a lot of Arabic things which are very cool. 100% recommended. If you buy your tickets online, you avoid every single time of waiting

Expérience fantastique: A definite must-see when in Berlin. The descriptions of everything are in English and German. It was a bit disappointing that the Pergamon Altar was closed when we went, but we knew that in advance. It was well worth the ticket costs regardless. You could easily spend an entire day there, but we had tickets to other museums as well for the day, so we were only there for about 2.5 hours. I understand why it’s so controversial. It’s sad to know other cultures lost pieces of their history for these things to be here. However, it’s definitely worth the time and money to see such a well preserved collection of history from around the world, no matter your feelings on it. Such a cool place to learn about history of many different cultures!

Expérience fantastique: To apreciate this museum you must and some history of it's exhibits. It's been a long time since i visited it , but it will stay in my memory forever! But it would be more suitable to see this exhibits in their home-countrys!

Expérience fantastique: Worth a visit every time. Beautiful landscapes in original size, detailed and I formative. We spent 3 hours there still was not enough to Listen to every audio guide track. When you buy the tickets you get an audio guide for free so do not miss the opportunity to learn more.

Expérience fantastique: The museum is a must-see. It holds inside jewels that are thousands of years old and come from the most ancient civilizations in Syria, Iraq (Mesopotamia), Greece, and the Islamic world. Perhaps the most famous and important are the Ishtar Gate and the Pergamon altar. The building itself is very interesting as it was reconstructed by the British architect David Chipperfield.

Expérience fantastique: Incridible!!!!! What a nice place to go and learn more about the history of architecture. It is definetly a must go. If you by the Museum pass, you will have 3 days to visit many museuns in Berlin, which is very good to visit the Museum Islândia, where Perganom is located. Here you can ask for a Digital áudio guide and enjoy history and extra information that will open your eyes to places you have never thought about visiting before. You will see the biggest original structure in a museum and enjoy brilliant craftsmanship for tiles, potery, tapestry and many others. It is definetly a MUST GO.

Expérience fantastique: A really nice museum in the museum island where you can find excavations from Greek and Arabic world. Highly recommend if you love visiting museums.

Expérience fantastique: Very enjoyable museum to visit. Not particularly large , so really only requires several hours to visit. Recommend online purchase of tickets ahead of time and selection of entry time to prevent waiting in lines. Advance purchase allows skipping the line and going straight to the entrance. The audio commentary (through headsets) is outstanding and significantly enhances the exhibits. The exhibits with commentary have an audio number and simply entering the number into your headset attachment starts the commentary. The individual programming allows progression through the museum at your own pace and not in a prescribed order. The reconstruction of the Ishtar gate and the Market gate is simply amazing. The visit is worth it only to see those two. Curators have done an amazing job reconstructing artifacts damaged by time and the war. Definitely recommend the visit.

Expérience fantastique: Awesome museum! Biblically significant exhibit with the reconstructed Ishtar Gate, originally built by Nebuchadnezzar II of the Babylon Kingdom... Much of the stores appearing in the Book of Daniel! The starkly deep blue and the really tall construction were really beautiful and grandeur. One can imagine the fear and awe that must have brought on to the visitors from the apparent power of the kingdom. This brings a different perspective of how great Daniel's success was i/n the Kingdom as an Israelite. One of several must-see place in Berlin!

Expérience fantastique: Stunning! Wow what can I say the hours went by and my jaw was difficult to pick up. A must see in Berlin. To think that they have places ancient walls and entrances inside a building in itself is a work of art.

Expérience fantastique: 1. The entrance is INSIDE the James Simon Gallery. This is not obvious; don’t follow Google Maps or the signage for the Pergamon too closely, as it’s confusing. 2. But a ticket either in advance online or at the Pergamon Panorama (way less busy), or you’ll spend the first 30+ minutes queuing up for a ticket.

Expérience fantastique: Fascinating and beautiful, if you are into Mesopotamia or archeology in general, every room on the first floor will blow your mind , with nowhere else to be seen artifacts and the Indiana Jones style stories behind their discovery. Plan to spend two to three hours here. Do book ahead online (it’s easy and way better than waiting for an hour to get in), as the queue can grow to extreme lengths.

Expérience fantastique: This museum blew my mind! With all the items on show painstakingly and beautifully put together, and in such a way that you really understand the context, this museum offers the kind of immersive experience that is very rare for the Ancient World. I could have spent another whole day there.

Expérience fantastique: Must use Audioguide adds value to the experience and is also available in english. One can easily spend around 2.5 hours.

Expérience fantastique: Magnificent museum for antique lovers. Make sure to book tickets in advance and save at least 2h for visor. Audio guide is available for free. During my visit in summer'22 admission for Ukrainians was free . However, Pergamon altar is not on display until 2024 as it undergoes renovation. Visit Das Panorama (walking distance from this museum) to see its 3d reconstruction.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing museum with too much to see for a casuall trip. There is a toilet in the middle, but you cant bring anything to drink. There is also few benches so bring good shoes and be prepared for at least 2 hours on your feet.

Expérience fantastique: Incredible! Very well laid out, and explained. And the Gate of Ishtar and the Greek square reconstruction is truly breathtaking. Wander a bit more to as the history of near East is very well explained. The second floor has some exquisite (but small) collection of Islamic art.

Expérience fantastique: Beautifully curated small museum much of it given to recreating rooms & areas rather than sitting artefacts on plinths. You get a real sense of how places like Babylon looked. Quite breathtaking. The terrace restaurant is also worth a visit, great food in a lovely setting.

Expérience fantastique: The Museum is Great with huge pieces of ancient art/architecture. To visit the whole museum at least 3h is required (if you like to read everything and pay attention to details). The only sad part is that the Pergamon Altar is closed to visitation until 2025.

Expérience fantastique: Definitely worth visiting this museum. It is amazing what they were able to reconstruct inside of the building. It opens at 10 am, you can enter the building via a side door in the right side of the stairs. The audio is free, so make sure to pick it up. Also: try to get your ticket online since there are dedicated time slots for entering.

Expérience fantastique: Pergamon Museum is one of the 5 museums located on what is called Museums Island in the heart of Berlin. Pergamon covers the antiquities from the ancient Egyptians to Assyrians, Geek, and Roman periods. Here, you will happen upon full reconstruction of Architectural Monuments. In this review I will cover the ISHTAR GATE. The gate was constructed around 575 BC as part of a processional way, in the inner city of Babylon, in Iraq today. In 1904 a German archeological team excavated the gate and smuggled it from Iraq as the Ottoman authorities, who were occupying the country at the time, turned a blind eye. Today, Ishtar Gate is one of jewels in Pergamon Museum with its glazed colorful bricks that still retain their original colors after almost 3000 years. Admission to Pergamon Museum: 12€ (Reduced: 6€) Due to constant renovation works and Coronavirus restriction some halls in the Pergamon might be closed.

Expérience fantastique: A museum visit which will live long in my memory. Displays from Ancient Babylon and Assyria, deconstructed and moved to Berlin brick by brick, simply amazing viewing them knowing the history behind them and relating them to the stories from the Old Testament. This is certainly a must visit to a museum which was hidden for so long behind the Berlin Wall.

Expérience fantastique: Incredible museum. Everything is described interestingly and there are multiple guided tours. The layout is well thought out. Its just astonishing to look at the massive ishtar wall or walking through an entire ancient building from mesopotamia… The focus of the main exhibition is on early high civilizations in the regions of mesopotamia, there is also a very beautiful exhibit of islamic art in the upper floor.
