Expérience fantastique: Great big exhibition! The tower view is highly recommended. Come early and enjoy the peace...

Expérience fantastique: The crown is similar to the crown of the British Monarchy, most likely the first was taken as a model during manufacture, which is not surprising, given the German roots of the BCS. Very beautiful and impressive. The diamonds are real and there are many. There are a lot of exhibits, all major European eras are represented, starting from the Ancient World. What is in the textbooks in the pictures is here live. There is a fragment of the jaw of the Heidelberg man, 2.5 million years old!

Expérience fantastique: It was very nice, I was on the tower first and then watched the film about the creation of the city. The exhibition is very beautiful and very informative. If you're in Karlsruhe, take a look. If you want to climb the tower, it is best to have a head for heights.

Expérience fantastique: The Badisches Landesmuseum is housed in the Karlsruhe Palace and extends over several floors. There is actually something to see from every era. From antiquity, the Middle Ages to modern times, everything is on display with very interesting exhibits. You should plan a lot of time to watch or read everything in peace. Unfortunately, I had to leave the museum once in between, otherwise I would have definitely passed out. The air in every floor is really terrible, stale, very warm and totally stuffy. I've never experienced that in any museum and I've looked at quite a few. Something needs to be done urgently!!! I really feel sorry for the staff, they have to put up with this all day. But I still give five stars because there is really a lot to see. Also the special exhibition, Goddesses of Art Nouveau, was very interesting and informative. By the way, the air was good there! If I'm ever in Karlsruhe again, I'll definitely come back here. Given the wealth of exhibits and information, a second visit definitely makes sense.

Expérience fantastique: Large museum with, amongst others, a very large collection of ancient art work, including Egyptian, Greek and Roman masterpieces, very well exhibited.

Expérience fantastique: >>Goddesses of Art Nouveau<< is one of the (for me) most interesting exhibitions that I have been able to visit so far. I was completely enthusiastic about the design of the exhibition rooms but also positively surprised by the topics that were addressed in the accompanying texts. A very modern approach that makes you think. The exhibits as well as the interactive islands were also put together wonderfully. Thank you for this great experience.

Expérience fantastique: At first the children (6 and 8) had no desire to visit a museum. They thought it would be so terribly boring. But already in the first hall they were very enthusiastic and their curiosity was aroused. They were so into the digital games that we had to curb their zeal to go out to eat. We will definitely come back.

Expérience fantastique: The observation tower is worthwhile even in bad weather. You also get an impression of the large exhibition. If you are interested in culture and have time, you should definitely see it!

Expérience fantastique: Once upon a time there was a hot summer day If you go to the Baden State Museum in Karlsruhe, then definitely buy a ticket for the tower at the same time. The view of Karlsruhe is great ❤️❤️ We only looked at a little of the museum, I really wanted to check out the tower and the view. Afterwards we watched the film: "I, Karl Wilhelm!" Viewed in the room next to the door to the tower. Went about 23 minutes. It was quite funny and interesting to impart knowledge about Kar Wilhelm. Tip: don't go in when the outside temperature is high, it can get a bit hot there Walking up the stairs can be exhausting for some. Definitely for me which I think is good, there is also a bench in between to rest for a moment. The stairs are a bit narrow and you may encounter oncoming traffic. If you're afraid of physical contact, just call up if someone is coming towards you Show times and prices can be found on the website. There are toilets in the next room down the stairs to the right after the cash desk.

Expérience fantastique: updated: 2022 even more modern and better designed, there are now some air conditioning systems, unfortunately some departments are still very stuffy in summer. Overall very modern and well done, the exhibition is very diverse and, in addition to the history of Karlsruhe, also shows numerous other eras such as Egypt, the Roman Empire and others. Must visit in Karlsruhe! Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed in World War II and was only largely restored to its original state on the outside. Inside is now the Baden State Museum, which offers a beautiful exhibition. Museum extends almost over the entire building, you have to walk a lot. Afterwards you can still go to the beautiful city park if the weather permits. All in all very well maintained and beautiful, but extremely hot in summer, since only mobile fans and air conditioning systems are installed and it is practically useless in the building. Air sometimes quite stuffy. Something else could be done there. I have nothing to criticize about the exhibition itself, it is beautifully designed and you learn a lot about the history of the country. There are also regular special exhibitions that add variety. Priced absolutely ok. It's worth it!

Expérience fantastique: I really liked the museum. Large, four floors of expositions. Comfortable, you can go with a stroller, the elevator works. The exhibits are old and in excellent condition. No one is above the soul. There are free days. The only thing they ask you to leave bags and things in the storage room. But you can take the phone. I definitely recommend.

Expérience fantastique: I wanted to see a museum that would show me information I wanted to know about the location. It surpassed that because, in addition to the history of the castle, it had much more, for example, the antique exhibition and a temporary exhibition (Goddess of Art Nouveau). I was completely satisfied and can recommend it to anyone who is interested in history, art and other historical aspects. For 14 euros you get a combination ticket, which I think is a very fair price. All in all a very good experience.

Expérience fantastique: The exhibition "Goddesses of Art Nouveau" is simply fantastic and highly recommended. A very large selection of exquisite exhibits in a tasteful presentation. The repertoire ranges from pictures to sculptures, jewelery to clothing. Many thanks for this inspiring exhibition. :O)))

Expérience fantastique: updated: I finally have time to visit the rest of the State Museum's offerings: Diverse collections from antiquity to modern times - always related to Baden. I already find the first positive surprise at the checkout: the audio guide offer for the current special exhibition "Goddesses of Art Nouveau" is now explained with a card that is on display there. There is no audio guide for the other parts of the museum, but new, digitally supported technologies are also used there to bring the exhibits closer to the visitor beyond the small print signs on the object. Personally, I was most impressed by the "Expothek": Visitors can view additional information from the digital collection on the smartphones provided. In addition, you can have selected originals demonstrated by highly competent "explainers". Unfortunately, the virtual reality area is still closed due to corona. Additional information can also be called up at other locations using a chip card or on tablets (apparently from the museum's "digital catalogue"). This replacement for the usual information signs requires the visitor to deal with the offer in a different, more self-determined manner, if it is not to end up being overwhelmed. I liked it. The room temperature in some areas is challenging in a completely different way. Especially in the basement there is an unpleasant heat that can hardly be explained by the protection of the exhibits shown there. In other departments you will find "more classic" forms of presentation. Everything is prepared at a high level. Conclusion: Interesting house with a wide range of digital offers. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The Baden State Museum offers a wide range of collections in the castle from antiquity to modern times - always with a connection to Baden. There are parking spaces in the (very confusing and poorly signposted) garage on Schlossplatz. Today I only have enough time for the current exhibition "Goddesses of Art Nouveau". Clumsy planning on my part, because the combination ticket for the entire museum only costs two euros more. It takes a whopping three attempts before I can use the (excellent, by the way) audio guide. As is so often the case in German museums, the prerequisites for using it are simply poorly explained or not explained at all: the app apparently only runs on Android via the loudspeaker, which of course cannot be expected of other visitors to the exhibition. So how hard can it be to indicate at the checkout and on the (otherwise well-done) website that the interested visitor must bring headphones? Thankfully, there are also devices at the checkout that you can hold to your ear. Of course you cannot take coats and bags into the exhibition. There are free lockers for storage, but they are barely able to hold a winter coat plus backpack. A friendly visitor sees my struggle with the locker door and points out larger lockers in the basement. The exhibition itself is well done and sheds light on the image of women in Art Nouveau from many perspectives. Conclusion: Interesting house with very expandable user guidance.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum and in my opinion the main cultural attraction in this city. Not only are the tickets very inexpensive and offered at various discounts for students, but the museum itself is very large and covers the entirety of German history, from prehistoric times to Romans to knights to Bismarck to the Third Reich to modern day. The latter somehow oddly includes a Japanese magazine about girly girls wearing a great amount of fake tan. The staff is generally quite friendly and there are not many people there. The topics are also often presented in a way that might interest children and include a train journey audio play and a gigantic weapons collection. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone interested in history.
