Expérience positive: Disappointing - random exhibits that didn't really connect to the theme of Mexico DF. This art could have been any place in the country. Some exhibits were closed off, too. I did like the exhibit with abstract pictures of books though. That artist is creative. It was 38 pesos

Expérience fantastique: The Mexico City Museum operates in the former Palace of the Counts of Santiago de Calimaya, which is one of the most notable examples of 18th-century baroque architecture, the work of architect Francisco Guerrero y Torres. This museum opened its doors on October 31, 1964 and today offers services such as: temporary exhibitions that show the work of plastic artists who express, through their colors and techniques, the multiple ways of looking at and feeling Mexico City; the Clausell Site and Study Museum, where you can permanently visit recreations of some rooms of the counts of Calimaya such as the chapel, the sacristy and the music room and Joaquín Clausell's study; and the Jaime Torres Bodet library. Those attending this venue will also be able to enjoy guided tours, workshops, conferences, book presentations, concerts and other artistic and cultural activities. I recommend continuing your visit from there touring the historic center and the Plaza de la Constitución, taking a walk along Francisco Madero Avenue, strolling through the Alameda Central or visiting one of the other museums that are located in the same area. The Museum of Mexico City is located on Pino Suárez avenue number 30, three blocks from the Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo), in Cuauhtémoc, in the historic center of Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico.

Expérience fantastique: It is a beautiful museum, the building is very well preserved with its original facade, interior patio and corridors, it also has several exhibitions, it is a place worth visiting.

Expérience fantastique: The building itself is a marvel, its history is linked to Mexico since the Colony and the current events, exhibitions and activities are always a good plan to learn and have an excellent time. Former Palace of the Counts of Santiago de Calimaya, it is currently the museum of Mexico City, on Sundays at 1 pm there is a dramatized visit (also on museum night and they have another schedule on the weekend) that explains in a way Phenomenal, entertaining, fun and simple the history of the building through time. There are temporary exhibitions and events, it is free (until August 2022), photos are allowed (Except in the room above, during the dramatized visit they comment on it) NO flash.

Expérience fantastique: Incredible building of baroque architecture from New Spain from the 18th century. It used to be the Palace of the Counts of Santiago de Calimaya. Upon entering you can see a lot of architecture from the preserved period.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful museum it has tons and tons of historical artifacts from ancient Latin American history. There's a lot to do at the museum there is multiple floors with tons of different areas to visit and see. There's a lot to do outdoors. Make sure to bring some snacks and bottled water the cost isn't too much. It's a good place to go and learn about mesoamerica. There's tons of artifacts too many account and remember there's so much to do and see here you'll have a great time.

Expérience fantastique: We loved the dramatized guided tour. It is the second time that I take it, but this time with my children. Thank you for such a well done performance.

Lisa Roli 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting, the guided tour really makes you use your imagination to live the time of those times. We always learn something new, for example what the wooden doors told you by those who lived there, with what titles. It is sad that as citizens we do not take care of this part of history when demonstrations are made and they paint or mistreat this part of history.

Expérience fantastique: It's a small but very purposeful museum. It is focused on the pre and post colonial architectural and infrastructure history of the Mexico City. I wish somebody told me to come here as the first thing to do in CDMX because it really helps to see the city from a better perspective before visiting other museums and monuments. Definitely the first place to visit.

Expérience fantastique: This is a great museum. We went in Jan '19 and saw exhibits on the history of Mexico (told in neon), the history of graphic arts used in protests, a 'humans of NY' like look at Mexico City residents, and a wonderful exhibit about all the events of 1968. Plus there were a number of others. I really can't recommend it higher.

Expérience fantastique: The building itself is worthy of an attraction in itself, that said, there are always awesome exhibits on display here. The best without a doubt while not putting down any of the artists on display at the moment would be the light show they have is one of a kind. The artist they have on showing is just a bonus, really take your time on this one!
