Expérience fantastique: Get tickets in advance, I booked over one week ahead of time for a random Tuesday and some times were already gone. People will line up 15-20 minutes before their ticket times but as long as you show up on time you still get in. Great exhibits and very informative, everything in both English and Spanish. You have to get a special pass to take photos, not sure what it costs if anything, I didn’t get one. Staff are around to make sure people move along but it gets very crowded inside especially around popular paintings.

Expérience fantastique: What an experience going through this museum. I do love how they set up each room to tell her life story. Her courtyard was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend checking this place out when coming to Mexico city

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful buildings, nice neighborhood. We especially enjoyed the garden, with its many peaceful and beautifully designed corners. The color of the house is estonishing. Regarding the exhibition, we would have liked a bit more interactive components. Do not forget to buy your tickets online before, as early as possible, as there are no tickets available at the museum.

Veronica Sevilla 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Be prepared if you pay online to download your ticket/s. There is no refunds. We had to pay 2xs. If you want to take pictures, you need to buy permission! Tickets are sold in a timely manner, if you show up, expecting to enter, that may not be the case. Tickets upon availability.

Expérience fantastique: One of my favorites. Frida changed the world for women and Mexicans. Her home is beautiful. Before you come just know they will charge you to take photos. Pay the fee. They are on top of each room and they don't let you take photos unless you have a sticker indicating that you paid the fee.

Expérience fantastique: Really lovely . I mean you can't really stay a stone throw away and not go and see .

Expérience fantastique: I love this museum it's really inspirational. Make sure that you make reservations online at least a day before or else when you get there you might have to wait two or three hours to get in. If you do have to wait don't worry there are tons of restaurants along the block and the Leon Trotsky Museum is about six blocks away. The actual tour isn't very long but I'm a fan so that didn't bother me.

Expérience fantastique: Very cool experience. If you are at least a bit into art, it's worth it. The whole house is super cool and it's am incredible feeling to be there where Frida Kahlo lived and created. Her story is very moving and it's all super interesting. Book one or two days ahead. If you want to take photos you need to pay 30 pesos more there.

Expérience fantastique: This had to be my best part of visiting México city, so much history with Frida Khalo museum everything was so cool,

Expérience fantastique: Love the museum!! It’s a great place to visit and remember This strong lady with talent!!! Even though she passed early, she left so many good things to this world and bring joy to people who love her!! Viva La vida

K B 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: I took an Uber there from my hotel. No need for a tour guide. The explanation about the painting is on the wall in Spanish and in English. Unless you wanted to be in a group with a guide. Love this place, the house and her clothes to her paintings were very interesting. It tells me so much of her life. Beautiful place she grew up in and spent her last day there. You must purchase your ticket online. There is a time slot you will need to choose. There 30 pesos you need to pay if you want to take photos, NO video is allow. The garden is amazing. The bright blue colors and the plants are well maintained. That is the reason why I guess it cost 250 for general public and extra fee for photos.

Expérience fantastique: Epic bucketlist ✅ It’s the experience sitting by this creative space that’s worth the travel!

Expérience fantastique: Breathtaking! I've waited 30 years, since finding Frida's bio that long ago! Incredible to be here! Just stunning and inspiring!

Monica Renaud 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Note: You have to pay a fee per mobile that will take pictures. Although the first few rooms are extremely crowded, the house itself is quite beautiful. You don't have many of her works here but you get a glimpse of who she was by her workshop, bedrooms and her patio. There are so many stunning details, it is worth the price of admission.

Expérience fantastique: To be honest, what else can I say about this place. Everybody has seen the movie. Everybody knows about the pain, the talent, the tales and the blue. Pragmatics pieces of info. 2 recommendations here: 1) Please get you tickets early on. They don't sell them at the museum. They are only sold online. We showed up one hour before they opened the place and we just wasted our time. It was not clear that they only sold them online. So now you know it. We went there in mid August, it was the low season and still there were a 2 week waiting list. This place is an Instagram magnet, so tickets are sold out pretty quick. See next recommendation to know how to get your ticket with one day notice. 2) If you forgot to book your tickets early on, then the only thing you have left to do is to purchase a guided tour of the Museum. It will cost you around $50 a pop (yes rip off, but they know that you only there for a few days). BUT, we were so glade to have a person to tell us about the details in the paintings, the details in the architecture, the Coyoacan neighborhood, the father, the sister, etc. the clothes, provide us a cultural context and a historic one. It only takes less than 1 hour to tour the house, you get so much more depth and perspective having someone tell you about what is going on. If you are a fan of Frida, it is worth every penny, and if you are like me and you just respect the artist it is still an awesome experience.

Expérience fantastique: If you're a Frida Kahlo fan like I am I highly recommend visiting Casa Azul. A lot of her more famous paintings are not there. As I learned at Casa Azul, a lot of them have been sold worldwide. There's still a lot of her work and personal precious items on display. She was born, raised, lived and died at Casa Azul, that alone to me was enough to go visit her home. ❤️ Plus, Coyoacán is beautiful! I recommend exploring the town as well.

Expérience fantastique: Simply amazing. Highly recommended plus the area is beautiful and very unique. A must!

Expérience fantastique: The Museum is located in a great neighborhood and in walking distance to the Coyoacan market. Tickets need to be bought online beforehand. My daughter is disabled and is on a wheelchair. Part of the museum is accessible, specially the part where visitors can see Frida's clothes and orthopedic vest and the garden. I contacted the Museum about my daughter's ticket. They told me my daughter's ticket is free. We just need to arrive at the time of our visit and talk to the museum staff about my daughter and they'll see us in. Museum response through email was super fast.

Expérience fantastique: I had read a few comments saying that it's a bit too much money to get in, however, I do think it worth it. The place is big and there are many things for you to see, not only from FK but her friends, boyfriends and girlfriends too which is refreshing. The house itself is beautiful, has a lovely garden where you can walk around and read some little stories from her life or her husband's thoughts. I feel it's very genuine, also, you can see lots of her clothing and corsets which are impressive and read all about her lifetime, which is also very interesting. I don't know, overall, in my personal experience, I liked it very much. If you also enjoy seeing some art, tortuous romance stories and a bit of grimm ones as well, you'd like the place.

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful museum. So much to see and take in. Book reservations ahead of time so you can plan your day around your visit. there is an upcharge to take photos and it is well worth it. I would have spent more time there if it weren't for the flow of people, knowing there are a lot of individuals just like you, who want to see.

Expérience fantastique: Such an amazing place to visit. There are objects and dresses that were used by Frida. You see pieced of her artwork, original sketches and photos of Frida and Diego. There are places to sit and relax outside and a gift shop. Masks are required throughout. In orde to take pictures, you must pay an additional 30 pesos. Only pictures are allowed though, no videos or flash photography.

Expérience fantastique: 2nd time I’ve visited. Each time I enjoy the art, history and everything about the museum. If you wanna take pics, pay the extra $ for it. It’s memories you’ll want to cherish. Be sure to book your reservations in advance at least a week before. The museum is walking distance to Coyoacán where you can walk the mercado, grab a bite or drink.

Expérience fantastique: If you’re a fan of the work and the artist, it is an amazing experience to be in her home, see her art, read about her life. I loved every minute of it. Go if you have a chance.

Martin Ponti 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: It's a great museum. Did not know what to expect since most of her best artworks are in other museums. Because of this I thought I would not enjoy it, but I really loved the museum and learned a lot. Being able to be in her actual house gave a better sense of her art and who she was.

Steve Karsten 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Truly a special experience. Order your tickets in advance, and still try to arrive early. The museum/house is just sort of a magical space. The colors, the light, the shadows would be enough but there is also some really amazing art to see. Highly recommend!

Petter Nyman 2 years ago

Expérience positive: GET A TICKET BEFOREHAND! It can be sold out for days and it’s far away from the city center so don’t take a chance! It’s a cool place though, seeing actual garments from paintings was very cool. Not a lot of self portraits though. Be sure to check out other places in the area, there’s great restaurants in the area, the Leon Trotsky Museum is also a highlight.

Expérience fantastique: Pretty interesting experience. It was kind of annoying that they don’t sell tickets there (you have to buy online in advance). However, it was still worth the visit. Pro tip: show up at the very last time slot so you can take your sweet time and avoid the crowds.

Expérience fantastique: Its clean, organized, popular and overall it's good. I didn't like that i had troubles at the front desk due to the were asking me if I was re-entering to the museum cause as i bought my tickets online, they said that they were already used and, well, all my info was correct, so they have an issue with their system. I couldn't buy and extra ticket while on the line, so i recommend buy the tickets online.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum with Fridas's paintings, some of her dresses and jewelry, in her home turned studio. Must be booked online early as tickets sell fast. Only managed to get in on my second visit to Mexico city.

Maria Musoga 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: An absolute dream for any art lover. Many of Fridas original artifacts and rooms have been kept as they were. Images of her family as well as Diego are seen in the house. The compound itself is gorgeous. Also a small gift shop with small Frida related mementos.

Victor Ng 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting too see the things you see in the movie in person. Definitely allows to better grasp of the movie and the movie gives a good supplement to the museum visit.

Gorge Villa 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Please go get your tickets online before going to the museum it’s very simple and straightforward. If you go to the museum without tickets you will be told to buy your tickets online and will not be allowed inside no matter how much money you will pay. Also you make the line much longer for people who actually planned and bought there tickets accordingly. We saw a lot of families leave upset and frustrated that they couldn’t buy a ticket there. Now on to the real review, the museum is amazing and way bigger than it looks from the outside, some things were closed due to covid but 90% of it was open and a very clean and well managed museum. In order to take pictures you will need to pay and extra 30 pesos per person. So if only one person pays only one person can use there camera. You cannot video record at all, if caught you will be warned once and then asked to leave (I got to see the warning and it is taken very seriously) also if you take a bag that goes on your back you will be asked to carry it on the front of your torso. This museum is always full so plan accordingly and don’t expect 6feet distancing but masks are mandatory if that makes you feel better. Keep in mind Kids 6 and under are free. If you are a foreigner you will have to pay more if your a National you pay less but will have to provide proof of Mexican Nationality. This is a must see for anyone who loves history or art. The gift shop inside the museum is very inexpensive compared to other attractions but considering this museum has one of the most expensive tickets in the city makes sense as they make there money off entry.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful home. Make sure you purchase permits to take photos and request permission to video prior to arrival.

Expérience fantastique: So thankful to be able to have visited. Great history and look into Frida’s life and being able to spend time at her home with her art, gardens and more was incredible. Come early if you can!

Belisa Cedillos 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: If you're a fan of Frida, it's a must see. Special permission is needed to take pictures of the inside of the house. The garden is beautiful & colorful... filled with ancient relics and chill vibes. There is a cute shop on-site and wonderful artesian vendors outside.

Wayne Truong 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Must see if you are a fan of Frida Khalo. The home that turned into a museum filled with her art and the bed where she was confined to while recovering from her injuries. It was also a nice to be able to see a special collection of her clothes, which included the body braces.

Angela Colabucci 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely do not miss this. Get your tickets in advance or book an Air BnB experience that includes tickets. Pay the extra 30MXN so you can take pictures inside. Amazing to see her house/artwork and the dress exhibit.

William Grimm 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely loved it. Make sure to buy tickets well in advance. We had to buy them a week before and it was for a weekday morning. The museum itself is great because it shows her art, history of her life, you get to see how she lived and the important people around her. Such a great experience. It's also pretty small and can be finished between 45min to 2 hours. The covid limited attendance actually helps the museum a lot because you can enjoy it without much of a crowd. Oh and just know that if you want to take pictures you have to pay an additional 30 pesos ($1.50). Worth it.

Veronica Palacios 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Must see when you're in the city, if you're not a fan you will be, this museum is so personal and touching. Only thing is don't forget to buy your tickets online, I had to settle for the last day of my trip, which was five days before, as tickets sale out fast.

Lucas Vidana 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful. You won't see a whole lot of Frida Kahlo's famous paintings, mainly paintings she had on the walls when she lived there. You get to see what her abode was really like when she lived there. Original objects she had and her bed with the mirror looking down on where she painting when she was painting while bedridden is really powerful. There is the courtyard with beautiful plants too. Highly recommended.
