A real oasis near downtown CDMX. There was a gorgeous poster exhibition when we visited in the courtyard. Great place to take a break.

Expérience fantastique: Usually visit it once a year for the World Press Photo exhibition and it’s never let me down in terms of queues, attention and maintenance. The temporary exhibits are interesting most of the time, and the permanent ones, which include a lovely bunch of colonial chests, stunning religious paintings and elegant vases, are also worth a look. My only complaint would be that the gift shop is ridiculously expensive but then again that is the case with many museums.

Expérience fantastique: Incredible personal collection of art, furniture, and objects of design. From pre Columbian to modern, all pieces expertly selected. All descriptions are in Spanish. Google Translate to the rescue, if needed.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum, if you are in the Centro Historico in CDMX, is a personal collection but very diverse pieces that gives an unique understanding of different periods of Mexican art. The ceramic, silver objects and the masks areas are my favorite. After you are done you can relax at the cafe before you go out and keep finding more things to learn about CDMX.

Expérience fantastique: Small museum with a cozy and relaxed cafe in a beautiful cloisters patio of very old colonial building. It always has small interesting exhibits. It is one of my favourite museums in cdmx, an island of peace isolated from the chaotic city center.

Expérience fantastique: Need intellectual stimulation and a place to rewind and escape from the craziness of the largest city in the Americas? Come here. English and Spanish, and fascinating geographical material that may take up to three hours to thoroughly sift through. I went in less cultured, came out more cultured. On another note; I hope my friend received my postcard I bought from here.

Expérience fantastique: The Frans Mayer museum is a real gem: From the amazing glass collection to 17-century furniture and religious artefacts — There’s so much to marvel at. Some of the installations are interactive, making it a fine destination for the young at heart. The courtyard is an oasis in the middle of the enormous metropolis that is Mexico City. Truly a must-visit!

Expérience fantastique: One of my favorite museums in the DF is very easy to see in about an hour thanks to it's size. We walked through Parque Alameda around lunch time to visit the museum and had the opportunity to experience the sights and smells of street food vendors and daily life in the area. A bit difficult to cross to the museum but being watchful of traffic always pays off. The artifacts and exhibits are outstanding and the patio gives the visitor a relaxing area to enjoy outdoors. I did find it annoying to have the staff watch your every move and to a point it felt oppresive. But they get paid to do just that. Leaving the museum you find a beautiful church to your right and then to the left another church that is a true icon of the sinking phenomenon of this majestic city. I loved the bathroom renovations since my first visit years back.

Expérience fantastique: The interior garden of this place is superb. Go as early as possible and ideally during the week so there aren't a lot of people there. Grab a beer from the cafeteria and chill on one of the benches and enjoy the sounds of birds and the water fountain.

Expérience fantastique: Interesting selection of European and Mexican art, furniture, books, etc. It hosts many temporary exhibits. The Cafe feels like you are in a hacienda in the country

Expérience fantastique: Definitely my favorite museum in Mexico City. Such a fantastic collection and a breathtaking library, it boasts. It’s not the largest but well-organized and showcased, which may remind you of the Frick Collection in New York. Every single staff is elegant and friendly. The pinnacle of this place would be its terrace coffee shop which comes with a gorgeous ambience.

Expérience fantastique: The Franz Mayer Museum is a great private collection of art, from all over the world, specializing in New Spain objects bought by its collector and now made patrimony of the Franz Mayer Museum. Due to its private nature the different objects collection obeys more to the original owners preferences than museographics criteria. Never the less important the vast collection has everything from textiles to ceramic, furniture and jewelry. Equipped with the most advanced facilities, the premises offer everything from multimedia to conference rooms, library, diverse capabilities access, all gender friendly, etc.

Expérience fantastique: I was looking the Diego mural for so long and found it here! Very happy to read about the history and see it for the first time. I really recommend going. It was about 30pesos or something like that so its definately worth going even if your on a really tight budget. The museum and art scene in mexico city is so amazing and there is so much to see!

It's central garden is perfect to sit and relax.
