Expérience fantastique: It is a place where you can certainly learn a lot, if you have enough desire and interest you can leave here knowing more than before, beyond the visual aspects that going can offer you (which are great) there are beautiful things about ourselves that we don't know

Expérience fantastique: Excellent. The building alone is a great piece of historical value. The museum inside is highly explanatory and educational. Highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: Accidentally went into this museum while exploring Mexico city. Maybe I am biased as a future medical professional, but this place is simply amazing! The admission is free, and they are open on Mondays. A lot of different things to see, organized by the different fields of medicine: gynecology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, etc. Some of the exhibit pieces may not be for the faint of heart, such as fetuses or full preparation of the corpse. However, if you are interested in medicine and medical history, it is a must see.

Expérience fantastique: It is an impressive place. It has quite a history, from scientific collections to events such as the fact that José María Morelos was prosecuted there and the poet Manuel Acuña committed suicide, among many other issues. In particular, I recommend visiting the wax collection. Go with comfortable clothes.

Expérience fantastique: The place is very cool, a very peculiar way of knowing the human body. I really liked the place and how the museum is divided, however, a bit of cleanliness is missing, there were many dusty things.

Expérience fantastique: Fascinating to observe the history of Medicine in Mexico, if you are a very sensitive person, there will be rooms that seem strong to you but without a doubt it is a good place to find out if medicine is your thing.

Expérience fantastique: A truly wonderfully structured and styled place, filled with a lot of knowledge and ideal for some cool photos.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent place, this time I realized that it has more areas for the public. The structure of the site is incredible, the high walls with the designs, the rooms with that humidity and cold that in a certain way transport you to the years of the Palace of the Inquisition and the mystery that its walls keep. The rooms are great, 100% educational, not only for medical students, but for the entire public. Taking a look at the past, at the beginning of a science like medicine, always contributes a lot.

Expérience fantastique: I was impressed to see the advances that medicine has made to this day. Among other things such as corpses, illustrations or instruments.

Expérience fantastique: If you like old buildings, you cannot miss this place. This building was once a prison (as a cultural fact, José María Morelos was locked up in cell 19 before he died), so the history in this building is very interesting. From my point of view (and without knowing much about it) the restoration / remodeling work was done with great taste. The medicine museum also has very interesting pieces and the auditorium is also very beautiful.

Expérience fantastique: Such a beautiful palace needs to be known by everyone that comes to Mexico. The Mexican medicine museum, a pretty complete library, the historical archive as well as the meetings hall and the exposition of the Inquisition and torture. You can even find lots of cultural activities almost daily there.

Expérience fantastique: Now hosting the National University's Museum of Medicine, built in the 1500s, this once was the headquarters for the Spanish Inquisition for almost three centuries.

Algar Pobut 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Good presentation and interesting

Andy Gardner 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Formerly the headquarters of the Inquisition that later became the academy of medicine. It now serves as a museum to the history of medicine in Mexico, spanning pre-hispanic times to the 20th century. It's worth a visit just to see the building itself which is quite architecturally impressive and unique. Be sure to note the "hanging arches" in each of the four corners which don't rest on columns!
