Expérience fantastique: The guide Amelia very friendly and explaining everything perfectly. The visit is free and highly recommended. The figure of Benito Pérez Galdós is very interesting. Multiple anecdotes, charming corners and a lot of history. Unknown facets of the author. A marvel. A must visit if you are on the island.

Expérience fantastique: They had recommended the guided tour that the house museum has and we decided to get closer. They put you together in a group of 6 people max and they give you a free tour. We hadn't been in many years and we were very pleasantly surprised. The guide explains you throughout the tour in a very didactic and fluid way, I seem to remember that his name was Jose. He stayed a while longer telling us anecdotes about the life of Benito Pérez Galdós, both to us and to an English girl. The example is that we have bought the first book of the national episodes!!!! highly recommended

Expérience fantastique: A few weeks ago I was in this museum house and I loved it because as it is a guided tour you can learn and learn more easily about the life of this canary that had international recognition as early as the 19th century. Jose attended us and explained all the corners of this traditional Canarian house. I hope that more young people get to know this museum and the cultural offer that we have in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Expérience fantastique: I went weeks ago to visit the Casa-Museo Pérez Galdós, something that had been pending for a long time and I was delighted. I had to make time and I remembered that every hour they do the guided tour and it's free. The man at the entrance was very kind and the young man who gave me the guided tour is one of the best guides I have seen, his name is Jose. The visit was super enjoyable because he told me a lot of stories that I didn't know about Pérez Galdós, it was obvious that he had a lot of knowledge of what he was talking about and he didn't just focus on what we were seeing but instead weaved different stories. In addition, everything is in very good condition despite the passage of time, there are no replicas as occurs in other house-museums, there are many elements that are typical of Pérez Galdós, some very interesting from the time that are no longer used. The hour passed me very quickly and I got hooked on the story that I found extremely interesting, so I have recommended it to my family and friends. Congratulations to the Cabildo for keeping the house in such good condition and to the guide, Jose, for how well he explained everything, for how he knew how to transmit to me the interest and motivation for the whole story and his attention and professionalism.

Expérience fantastique: Free entry, very well preserved house and beautiful Canarian style and good guide to get an idea of the life of Benito Pérez Galdo in his childhood and birth in it

Adoracion Rodriguez Garcia 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: I am an admirer of Galdós and discovering the house where he was born and lived until he was 19 has enchanted me. In it the original furniture of its different houses is preserved. Furniture from a house he had in Santander (which no longer exists), and from his house in Madrid. His two offices are preserved, the one in Madrid and the one in Santander. The furniture was designed by the writer, made of fine wood and some are adorned with tiles. We can see the books in his private library, his piano, harmonium, canes, even his clothes in a closet. On their tables the inkwells, the pencil sharpener, letters with their handwriting. He wrote in pen and pencil. We have also seen the original drawings of the illustrated edition of The National Episodes (which by the way I am going to read, I have them pending). We can see the furniture in the room where he died, the crib from when he was born. And images from the newspapers of the time at his funeral. It is very worth it. He was born in Las Palmas. DEP Galdos

Expérience fantastique: It was a great experience, guided tour by Juan, who explained to me very well the life of Benito Pérez Galdós and the history of the house where he was born, where he lived in Madrid and Santander and where he died, he told me about his daughter and the truth The two new rooms that they recently inaugurated are fabulous, with their books and what I liked the most and did not know is that the painting that is in his office is the authentic one, a painting that his Friend Sorolla Painter loved. Thanks to the Cabildo for maintaining it and take care of him and thanks to Juan for his valuable explanations about Benito Pérez Galdós

Expérience fantastique: An essential in your visit to Las Palmas. Prolific author with an exciting biography. You will be able to see his genuine house and much of his furniture, his tastes and his art. Separately, attached to the house, a museum about his life and work with splendid photographs. Thanks to the Guide for his explanations.

Expérience fantastique: Guided tour with Mrs. Amelia. In a close and friendly way, he has told us about the origin of the writer's personal belongings that can be seen in the Museum. You can also see what a Canarian house was like with its interior patio. The visit is free and takes place at sharp hours. It has been a very interesting experience.

Expérience fantastique: It is a very beautiful place, a large house with quite interesting architecture, and it shows us what life was like in the 18th century and especially the life of Benito Pérez Galdós. All your creations, music, designs, etc. I went on a Sunday and admission was free with a guided tour. Very friendly staff. The duration of the tour is approximately 30 minutes.

They have all kinds of pictures and historical documents about the life of Galdós. You have to make an appointment by phone. There is no parking. Expérience fantastique: House-museum where the prolific author of National Episodes lived his first years, located in a typical Canarian building with two interior patios and which includes a series of furniture designed by himself, first editions and translations of his works, the cradle where he slept , the desk he used in his house in Cantabria...

Expérience fantastique: One of the best museums of Gran Canaria and it MUST be visited. The visits always include a guide so it will make your visit more easygoing. A lot of thing learnt from one of the best writers from Spain and ofcourse from Gran Canariaa...

Matthew Preston 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Excellent reproduction of the homes of Benito Perez Galdós from the 19th century. Includes representations of rooms from his Santander house and a copy of the famous painting of him by Sorolla. The exhibitions in the museum are only in Spanish, but the tour is given in both Spanish and English. The tour guide was very informative, and gets extra marks for having been reading one of Galdós' books when we arrived... Entry is free the first weekend of each month, but anyway, the small entrance fee is worth paying.
