Expérience fantastique: Very nice classical museum. Contains a couple of famous works by famous painters

Expérience fantastique: I visit the royal museum very often, along with the magritte museum. I love this place, the collection is fantastic and the frequent exhibitions are always very interesting. I hope they will soon solve the issues with humidity that forced them to remove some works of art.

Expérience fantastique: Important to visit while you in Brussels Another level of art

Expérience fantastique: A most exquisite museum. It probably got some art for everyone, and if you're into Jesus' and friends, half the museum is dedicated to it. If you want to experience everything and look at each painting for at least a few minutes, I would plan to be here for at least three hours.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing exhibition!! You can learn a lot about history of Benelux countries. Paintings are first class and architecture of this building is impressive!

Expérience fantastique: It is a real experience to visit art museums in Europe. Do you say a journey to history, do you say a closer look at the past of Europe, do you think what the human mind will rule, and a person who arouses different emotions in people.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum. Flemish collection, Dutch, French and Italian painting. And the Museum of Modern Art.

Nick Xie 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Gorgeous gallery. The temporary exhibit when I went was on the Fin de Siecle which was done excellently. The main collection is of course exceptional and the building itself is a work of art

Expérience fantastique: We visited in January, which meant that we had the museum largely to ourselves. I recommend purchasing the inexpensive guidebook. It gives information on selected works throughout the museum.

Expérience fantastique: The collection of old masters are really good. I really liked the video/ immersive exposition of Brugel's works, because they explained the motifs etc appear on his works. Some paintings were explained really well in the audioguide, but I wish there were more explanation on things drawn in the painting than the explanation of the artists.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum to see all beautiful art by Europe classic masters. Museum itself is very beautiful + all those artworks is worth your time! Suggest you to go to museum at the morning especially if you want to see a Magritte collection as well as collection of old masters. Both collections will take a lot of time to see especially if you love to go in details. Not suggesting to pay for audio guide as there is not that much artworks that have any audio guide + it tells you basically what you see by your own eyes or can read on the description shield next to the artwork. For disabled persons audio guide can be really helpful to get understanding of artwork.

Expérience fantastique: Some of my favorite pieces of art in the museum. The fin de siecle part of the museum is my absolute favorite.

Michele Azzarone 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: It definitely worth a visit if you are on Bruxelles for some days. It has a very wide collection of paintings spanning from the old masters of the Flemish Reinassance and the subsequent counter-reformation baroque, to fin de siecle and early '900s artists. Although the visit path could be (in my opinion) be better organized, this museum offers a complete overview of the art evolution over the last half of millennium. If you visit in summer, consider to bring with you a jacket, because the air conditioning is set to "artic" and after a while the cold cannot be ignored; unfortunately this could ruin the otherwise very pleasant experience!

Expérience fantastique: Incredible paintings and sculptures. Definitely worth a visit, especially with tickets this cheap for students.

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely brilliant! Got to spend time looking at the Frans Hal's! Spent the whole day here and at the Magritte museum! For 15 euro.

Expérience fantastique: A must visit when you are in Brussels. Beautiful building, amazing collection of artwork! You can easily spend a whole day wandering around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Entrance is free on the first Wednesday of the month! The old masters collection is simply amazing. Lockers and drinking water available.

Expérience fantastique: The building consists of several museums/galleries (old masters, end of the 19th century, Magritte’s Museum). Thus, this complex has an amazing art collection from medieval times until almost now from different extraordinary European artists (Rubens, Jacob Jordaens, Rembrandt, Frans Hals, Jacques Louis David and many more)

Expérience fantastique: The Old Masters exhibit was the one we checked out. Great to see so much classical art spread out so it doesn't overwhelm. We fell short of time- had an hour only. But a great experience.

Expérience fantastique: If you're in Brussels and are an art lover, definitely pay a visit! The museum is quite extensive, but I didn't find it overwhelming. I went to see the Old Masters Museum, and I spent the whole afternoon here just because I love viewing art, but you can go at a quicker pace The interior is nice and spacious, and the staff is friendly. The gift shop offers a good variety of souvenirs as well. If you visit in the colder months, I recommend wearing enough clothes because the temperature is relatively low to keep the art in good condition. I will definitely visit again!

Expérience fantastique: Museum has a unique collection of fine arts

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful artwork, very nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Some rooms don't have very good light, causing big reflections in the paintings, which makes visibility very difficult, but in general, everything is excellent! It's worth a visit!

Expérience fantastique: In a nutshell, this museum cannot be missed if you’re in Brussels. Great works of great masters, wonderful building, one may spend countless hours in this magical place.

Expérience fantastique: (Tips) This museum is made up of several museums, so you can spent whole day to see it. Rene Magritte museum’s morning time slot is tend to running out so please be aware of it (you can book it online). Oldmasters collection probably has time slot 11:00 even a day before.

Expérience positive: I learned many things thanks to Rene Magritte's exhibition, most important of which is that virtually all his famous paintings are located somewhere other than his eponymous museum (the irony!). You still get a nicely curated chronological display of his other works and memorabilia. The gentleman at the ticket booth by the origami was kinda rude though, maybe having a bad day, but it's kinda scary when you're a tourist and clueless.

Expérience fantastique: Surprisingly complete and large museum. When people told me that It takes lots of time to visit I doubted but it took us more than 4 hours to only visit the old masters and the Magritte museums. Bruegel’s and Bosch’s paintings are the best of the old masters collection. Simply amazing. I recommend picking the audioguide.

Expérience fantastique: Awesome collection of fine art and special exhibitions around Magritte, Alechinsky and Aboriginalities which we visited.

Expérience fantastique: When going to this museum, reserve a lot of time. It took me more than 3 hours to visit the two exhibitions, but you can certainly spend more time here. Very good collections of paintings and Art Nouveau - especially beautiful furniture and lamps.

Expérience fantastique: The museum is huge, with also a large museum shop where you can really find great souvenirs but also useful items. The attached restaurant located next to the museum is a great place to relax and eat.

Expérience fantastique: Great and big museum complex. Accesible tickets. Loved the Great Masters Collection. Incredible Bruegel paintings! The Bosch’s “triptyque” was fabulous. Friendly staff. Nice museum shop.

Expérience fantastique: Well organised precautions against soread of covid 19. The exhibitions are a "breath of fresh air" and safe to visit.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful Museum. The art is stunning and it is family friendly. Highly recommend it. It would have been nicer if there were more explanations about the artworks, especially for the temporary exhibitions.

Expérience fantastique: Museum holds fine collection of Flemish, Dutch painters, and not only. Very pleasant and helpful staff, assisted and guided me with a buggy. Fin de Siècle museum is even more impressive. It brings you to the golden days (or dark days if you take Meunier works) of Brussels, Belgium. A must in Brussels.

Expérience fantastique: Seven flowers of art, from Medieval to Nova days. Plus temporary collections (usually 2 - 3 months). There is presented an amazing collection of the old Flemish masters, like Bosch, Bruegel and Wan Eyck. The museum contains 4 separate exhibition, you can buy a ticket for one exhibition, or for all of them. Be ready to spend bout 2-3 hour to see all pictures. As a separate part of the museum, there is Rene Magritte collection. Try it , if you like surrealism.

Expérience fantastique: Three museums for the price of one! For 15€ per adult, you get access to all three museums within the main entrance to the Royal museums. There is also have a nice cafe within where you can get a hot meal after your stroll through hundreds of years of paintings and sculptures from many eras. Highly recommended if you like art of any kind.

Expérience fantastique: I had a few minutes to kill before a meeting and so I went in, through security and into the big hall. I didn’t have time for any of the exhibitions but spend my time well in the free main exhibition space. Some modern, some classic pieces and all displayed well in a bright and open space. Thanks

Expérience fantastique: The royal museum of fine arts is one of the most massive museum buildings I've seen. It features a huge variety of arts in many categories. When I visited, there were extensive exhibits of the old masters and many famous artists from Belgium. There is everything from paintings, sketches, furniture, statues, carvings, sculptures and much more. The same building also houses the famous Magritte museum and is a must visit for any art lover. It's recommended that you have a lot of time on your hands as this building is so large that you can spend the majority of the day trying to see it all.

Expérience fantastique: Superb museum! It’s huge. Couldn’t do all of it at the time we went as they close at 4 so tip is to go early. We saw the Margaritte exhibition. Very interesting to see the love between the couples and their work as artists. We got a 2 for 1 ticket as we had used Eurostar to travel. We were not even aware we could get a discount. So one to note. Great art, good history to learn, staff super polite but they were quite rigid just before 4 to close and shut down rooms. But I enjoyed the entire experience. The art exhibitions were across 3 floors starting from the 3rd floor and making your way down. Definitely worth going to for art lovers.

Expérience fantastique: There are 3 museums (magritte, old masters and fin-de-siècle museums) at the same place, and temporary exhibitions. Entry to all the 3 museums for students is 8 euros, while temporary Exhibition of Dali and Magritte (personal collection) is separate 8 euros. The entrance is pretty cheap for a student (half the price). It's well maintained

Expérience fantastique: Well curated, with interesting use of space and good story telling. The museum contains some engaging works and a good smattering of the famous. Certainly worth a visit. Look out for what temporary exhibitions are on, as these add a bonus, and are often comprehensive. If staying a couple of days buy a Brussels Card, as this offers a good deal.
