Expérience fantastique: Very nice presented. One of the better curated museum I've seen in Ghent.

Expérience fantastique: Fine museum. There is an exciting quest for children.

Expérience fantastique: One of my all-time favourite museums. A unique kind of science museum, that looks at the scientific process itself. As opposed to being ordered chronologically or by field of study, the museum is divided into themes such as "chaos", "doubt" and "imagination", all the important ingredients of science. Per theme there are objects relating to different fields of study, from mathematics to astronomy to linguistics to psychology.

Expérience fantastique: Very strongly conceived, starting from doubt in order to arrive at science. Fascinating!

Expérience fantastique: Worth going to, especially if you are interested in science. Also nice to combine with the botanical garden.

Expérience fantastique: Very recent museum, a dive into the world of the scientist. The university has extracted from its cellars a multitude of fascinating instruments, plus a variety of spirits artefacts and a number of stuffed animals, including skeletons, with which it tells the story of science to young and old(er). Nice arrangement, good and abundant explanation.

Expérience fantastique: The GUM is one of the best museums I've been to. It is a museum about science in general, about development and change. My curiosity was stimulated very hard here, hundreds of objects steal the show, mega interesting videos caress the eyes and brains and interactive screens never let me go.

Expérience fantastique: MUST VISIT! This museum is a delight from start to finish for anyone who is even slightly interested in science and eager to learn. You can easily walk around here for 1.5 hours if you want to take a good look at everything. The museum is also interactive - think tablets with extra information, videos to watch, sound clips to listen to, games and more - making the museum very accessible for both young and old. The museum itself is spread over 2 floors and I can assure you that you will be amazed and want to know more and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum and definitely plan to come back. After the museum, be sure to visit the greenhouses and the botanical garden. These are also definitely worth it! Oh, and don't forget the museum shop. This is not very big, but has a nice collection of books and merch. All in all, a visit to this museum will make a lot of nerd hearts beat faster. Recommended!

Expérience fantastique: Surprising! A very nice museum where everything has been thought of: the construction, the lighting, the red accents. It creates a very special atmosphere. This particularity is continued in the choice of objects and in the story about "out of the box" scientific thinking. The Van Eyck pop-up is also very enriching. Recommended!

Expérience fantastique: Insanely interesting exhibitions, I absolutely recommend to anyone even remotely interested in the scientific process.

Expérience fantastique: Interesting museum that takes you in the way of science. We were welcomed and given a good introduction to how the museum worked. In short, a must for anyone who finds science interesting!

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting museum, with a innovative approach and accessible for both adults and childeren

Expérience fantastique: This museum offers a unique perspective on science and presents it in a number of themes such as chaos, measurement, networks and models. Particularly clarified and encourages critical thinking that we just need so much now. A bit boring? The collection does not consist of a thousand and one curiosities at all: from the Tasmanian fox to the meteorite of Sint-Denijs. Recommended

Expérience fantastique: This museum surprised me very pleasantly. Material that would otherwise remain "hidden" from the general public is now exhibited here, all encased in a clever frame, which gives you an insight into "the scientist" as a human being. Fascinating for both young and less young! There are even two quests made for children, according to age. Upon your arrival, the "host" welcomes you and briefly introduces you to this museum, after which you can explore. Afterwards you can visit the beautiful gardens and conservatories, definitely recommended!

Expérience fantastique: The GUM is an incredibly smart take on the classical university archive display. Rather than an academic artefact, it is a rock-solid science museum, guiding it’s visitors through the process of curiosity, experimentation and discovery. With both old and new objects, scientific and artistic interventions, the GUM offers a wide range of insights that are comprehensible for anyone. Cannot recommend enough!

Expérience fantastique: The decoration is beautiful, the presentation well thought out. We had expected many more objects. We go back sometimes, it was sometimes too busy in some places.

Expérience fantastique: I doubt therefore I am, Failure is human… here are some of the assumptions which led to a renewed and very relevant historical approach of Science. Invitation to artists, interviews of contemporary citizen experts, maps, tools, documents, reproductions, samples. Zoology, Archeology, Ethnography and Medicine are gazing at the 21th century from a tiny botanical garden. Nice proposition!

Expérience fantastique: Modern take on the cabinet displays of science items back in the day. Now I'm starting to understand a bit about the human genome, the reproductive system in octopuses, and so much more. Too many to list but very interesting. Take your time and don't miss out on one visit.

Expérience fantastique: Doubt, chaos and imagination? ✅ Spent an exciting afternoon in this interesting and beautifully decorated museum. We have been able to view everything quietly, thanks to corona measures. Free token for the locker is a charming initiative!

Expérience fantastique: GUM combines different aspects of science in 7 ideologies. You can learn about origin of various important discoveries under one roof. It's free for UGent Students and Staff. You should visit it. Staff is cooperative and everything is available in both Dutch and English. It is easily accessible by bus and bikes, and at walking distance from Gent Sint-Pieters Station!

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting museum. A lot of information. Be sure to take a few hours for it. Very nicely conceived and elaborated scenography. An example of a museum in 2020. Combine this with a visit to the adjacent botanical garden.

Expérience fantastique: A nice new museum in Ghent, connected to the University. The museum offers two floors dedicated to science, knowledge, thinking, doubt and research. The exhibition offers an impressive amount of objects according to themes. Interactive displays provide a lot of information. The objects are set up attractively and well thought of. There is an interesting exhibition on perspective, architecture and composition in Jan van Eyck’s Madonna with Kannunik Van der Paele. The museum is in a university building in the pretty botanical gardens. There is a small shop. Staff was friendly. Well worth a visit.
