Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum, focusing on the battle of the Bulge. You get a headset at the reception that leads you through the museum and tells the story from four different perspectives. This includes eloborate moving dioramas and many artifacts and vehicles. Tour is available in English, German, French and Dutch and probably more languages. Staff is helpful, and the cafetaria and book shop are nice.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum, explains a lot about the Ardennes in WW2 and uses storytelling to convey an important message. That this never should happen again. The artifacts and things on display look really nice and really give an impression.

Expérience fantastique: Impressive modernised museum. Nothing like it used to be back in the days. Great exhibition.

Expérience fantastique: This is a very well done museum in tribute to the American lives lost in WW 2 and 5he Battle of the Buldge. Great 3 D presentation. Wonderful, Must See.

Expérience fantastique: One of the best museums for WWII, I have ever visited. Congratulations. The view from the site is also amazing. Keeps the interest even for the kids.

Expérience fantastique: Having been to more war museums than I can count, this one is by far THE best. First off, you MUST get the audio set which of course you need to pay for but that is what makes this experience outstanding. At first I though the price was a little expensive but it was absolutely worth every penny. The audio guides you through the life of four different people (real life, not fiction) to depict different experiences and views of how the events unfolded - this personification have such deep perspective and understanding. Be patient and watch all the short movies which are all very different and immersive. We legitimately spent the entire day there and then drove to the field where they had yet another component of the museum where you get to see the exact location and through QR codes you get a 360 degree experience of what happened in that specific area! Our teens were even engaged the entire time and tears were shed. Very memorable and moving museum. A must see!

Expérience fantastique: Excellent place to visit, I thought I wouldn't enjoy it, but the story is told so well through the eyes of 4 very different participants, I learned so much and had a great time. Worth every penny. Would definitely visit again. Good cafe too. Parking: It was free to park the motorcycle, and they have lockers to store your stuff while you walk round. Cars do have to pay.

Expérience fantastique: Best Museum experience ever! Interactive, the headset automatically plays the relevant information and you are immersed in the lives of 4 protagonists : a little boy, a school teacher who helped the resistance, a German soldier and an American soldier. Several immersive scenes bring the history even closer to heart. Unforgettable!

Expérience fantastique: This was an incredible museum. As someone who is quite knowledgeable about this battle, there was plenty of new and interesting material, but also plenty of more surface level material which my two companions thoroughly enjoyed. It is truly an eye opening experience about both the Battle of the Bulge and world war two as a whole, and the audio tour was well recorded and rarely had issues. I absolutely recommend visiting this museum if you find yourself in Bastogne.

Expérience fantastique: Great homage to the Americans which helped us the europeans in winning the war. Great homage to the european Spirit. This should be seen by all the anti europeans and brexiteers, so they would not forget why Europe is such a great idea and where do our democracies come from. Congrats to the museum!!.

Expérience fantastique: Really nice museum. They really know how to story tell with a headset and several rooms were you can sit down and listen to one of the many stories that they tell. Even though a lot was already known to us we still had a blast. We would highly reccomend it! My advice is to spend around 1 to 1.5 hours inside and then maybe switch it around by getting lunch or going outside before going back in. Doing everything in 1 go is quite intense. Also the museum was pretty chilly for a warm summer day (25 degrees outside, inside it felt like 15). 1 downside, after ticket sales you also have to pay 5 euro for parking. It would make sense if they just include it in the ticket price..

Expérience positive: The museum is about telling the WWII story. Without headphones (voice guides) there is not so much to see. Movies are of good quality though. Personally like seeing more relics. If you like to see tanks this is not your museum.

Expérience fantastique: The 4 true stories woven into the museum's path is very well thought out. It really helps younger visitors stay engaged. We enjoyed the experience very much and I think my children learned a lot. The memorial outside is currently being renovated but I'm sure it will be quite impressive when it is restored to it's 1950's condition.

Expérience fantastique: Very modern museum, great audio guide. Many theater like experiences. Small warning: some theater experiences can be scary for children below 6 years.

Jamie Morris 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: Primarily about the US involvement in the battle of the bulge. Completely accessible for wheelchair users although there is a hill up to the monument (which is being renovated (2022) so covered in scaffolding. Hopefully we'll get the chance to see it when done. You need plenty of time to see this museum properly. Probably a good couple of hours. We were a little late and therefore rushed but it was well worth the effort. You're given a headset which automatically tunes into the area of the museum you're in. It's especially good in the film/diorama sections where everyone can hear in their own language but you get the reaction of the room.

Expérience fantastique: Great and modern museum. It's narrated through the story of four individuals that took part in the Battle of the Bulge. The audioguide automatically plays as you walk through exhibition. It starts with WWII crash course and events that led to the battle. There are three movies in extremely thought of rooms. The temperature is couple of degrees lower in one that talks about Ardennes in snow. The movies are made for people who don't want to read and want to get a quick digest of the battle. All three are about 15min long. You will find only two tanks there.

Expérience fantastique: The war museum takes us through a journey in the eyes of the people who have been in the war and all the amazing artifacts, guns and vehicles that have been restored for viewing

Expérience fantastique: An awesome museum! They have a portable audio set that is sensor activated as you walk through the museum it tells you awesome history tidbits. The audio recordings can be listened to in English which was pleasant! You can pay your tickets online and enter during a scheduled time. There is a wonderful Cafe to enjoy lunch after that accepts cards and a great gifts hope, both accept debit cards! We brought out 2 year old who LOVED the experience and was able to do everything but the last film which doesn't allow children.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum with a fantastic audio-tour and lots of movies. You follow a path through that is continuous and makes it challenging to jump ahead, so plan for 2-3 hours here. Overall, an exceptional and well-curated museum that is worth a visit.

Expérience fantastique: This is one of the most beautiful museums I have ever been to. The audio guide with the voices of Emile, Hans, Mathilde and Robert, really make us live with them its events. The staging is magnificent. I highly recommend this museum to learn the history of the WW2 in Bastogne

Expérience fantastique: Amazing museum. Worth focusing on if you have limited time to spare. The experience is well planned. I really , really loved the idea of how you got to hear about the global situation, the local area and then you saw things through the eyes of individuals who came with you through the tour to see the personal experience. Give yourself minimum of 4hrs here. Audio tour brings you around but also info boards also have English.

Expérience fantastique: Very well organised war museum dedicated to the battle of Bastogne. The visit takes about 2 hours and you can find also a very nice café with food and drinks until closing time. The parking lot is quite large.

Expérience positive: After encountering so many world war 2 monuments within Luxembourg I wanted to know more about what exactly happened here during world war 2. And this museum came highly recommended, it didn't disappoint not one bit. It left me cold with goose bumps about the stories that where told through an audio headpiece. And through the myriad of infographics pictures etc.

Expérience fantastique: This is a great museum about WW2. There are a lot of vehicles and personal equipment from both sides. They have a fantastic audio headset program which triggers automatically as you move around. There are narrated stories of citizens around the Bastogne area, an American soldier and a german soldier. There are 3 theaters so you have a few minutes to sit. There are several other museums covering different themes in the area. I'll go back and spend 2 days. If you only have time for 1, do this one. I wasn't specifically looking at the accessibility features, but it seemed well suited for wheelchair or limited mobility. It is a big space with multiple floors so check the website. The staff spoke English and if you're a veteran, show your id for a discount. If you don't mind driving for a couple of hours, the memorial for the wereth 11 is simple but speaks volumes for the soldiers and the villagers who tried to help them.

Expérience fantastique: Perhaps one of the most beautiful museums ever visited. Actually it's not only a museum, it's the history lived and described by four different people who lived those troubled times: a US soldier, a German officer, a young teacher from Bastogne and a child from Bastogne. A very, very touching experience, especially for someone who's grandfather fought in WWII. Many thanks to the organizers and management of the museum, this is truly an unique and brilliant way to show the history. You deserve 10 stars, not only 5, well done!!

Expérience fantastique: Awesome experience! It was a great museum for the children. We had headphones and it walks you through different 3stages from the perspective of a young boy. Highly recommend!!

Expérience fantastique: This is a must-see. Extraordinarily well-put together museum. You’re welcomed by the staff who give you an audio device. This is your guide. I know they offer English and French. The device is activated as you approach exhibits and enter one of the theaters along the tour. The museum is full of relics from both sides of the conflict: tanks, weapons, uniforms, k-rations, shave kits, and more. We strolled for about 3 hours and felt we covered everything well. The museum is set up to tell the story from the end of WWI and on. They use 4 characters from different backgrounds (American paratrooper, German officer, Belgian schoolteacher, and a young boy from Bastogne)—this added depth to the exhibits and made it a story, not just a “look and see museum”. The whole thing is immersive and well-detailed. Truly an outstanding museum. Outside, there’s the WWII monument. It’s a star shaped statute otherwise as large as an office building. Visitors can walk through the pillars, and go upstairs for a few of the surrounding Ardennes region. There’s a small cafe attached with an appreciable selection. The gift shop had an eclectic selection—some of it made sense: Patton, Bastogne, and 101st AB gear—but also a Texas A&M t-shirt. Note: small kids will struggle—bring a stroller. My 6 and 8 year old were all set and really enjoyed it. My 3 year old struggled. Plenty of parking and areas for a picnic.

Expérience fantastique: This is an awesome and must-see museum for all those stationed or visiting in Europe. It is very informative from beginning to end and very important for all, especially in today's turbulent political climate, to see how true fascism starts. The memorial and recounting of the events leading up to, during, and after the battle of the budge will be both informative and entertaining for all ages. My 3-year-old enjoyed the video segments. Well done to the staff of the Bastogne War Museum. This was a personal experience, for me because my grandfather fought through here and I now understand better, how hard they fought to liberate Europe from the fascistic national socialist.

Expérience fantastique: Best war museum ever visited. Effort has been paid to every detail. Well documented and interactive at the same time. Very nice location. For all ages. Dont hesitate to go there when around or even make the trip

Expérience fantastique: A very in-depth look at World War II and the history that went on with bastogne and the battle around the town. You will need at least two or three hours to really enjoy all that the museum has to offer.

Expérience fantastique: The Bastogne War Museum is the major site of memory dedicated to WW2 in the Ardennes and in Belgium, as seen through the spectacular prism of the Battle of the Bulge. This unique site of memory offers an immersive visit-experience thanks to three veritable multi sensory, 3 D stage settings, in which you relive the life-story of four characters at the heart of the action. By way of an array of museum techniques-decors, testimonies, multimedia installations, films-the journey to which you're invited appeals to your mind and soul alike, thus making you feel that this history is indeed your history... Don't forget to visit the Mardasson Memorial, a stone's throw from the museum. It is an important lieu de mémoire endowed with a crypt decorated by Fernand Léger, one of the most acclaimed French painters of the 20th century.

Expérience fantastique: Well done. The audio tour advancing itself without input is really neat. Plenty of parking, but wonder if that's due to covid. Lots of displays, and each individual movie theater having an external countdown to next showing was welcome.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful museum! It starts off rather slow, with a pretty detailed history of the start of WWII, and the events leading up to the Battle of the Bulge, but it's definitely worth it! The video testaments of civilian survivors and combatants on both sides are very interesting as well! The audioguide can be a bit annoying as it is proximity/visibility triggered which often makes the same clip play multiple times. If you plan on reading and watching everything I suggest allocating more time than the suggested 2h (it took us about 4h!)

Hristo Hristov (Christo Christoff) 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Impressive museum showcasing in high detail the history of WWII and in particular the heavy fights of Battle of the Bulge around the town of Bastogne, in which thousands of soldiers and civilians were killed, wounded or displaced. Amazing curation of the museum with authentic artefacts, including a Jeep Willys, Sherman tanks and a Jagdpanzer.

Expérience fantastique: They have listening devices in several languages. The flow was good. We ate at the cafe after and the food read really good. My favorite part was the monument outside though. You can go up on top of it and it has beautiful views. The parking was free and there was plenty of it.

Expérience fantastique: A great museum to get multiple perspectives. Four stories will walk u through the building. Plan at least two hours and probably more. Worth the trip and time. Price isn’t bad. Take ur time and read the events. Clean building and friendly staff worth the trip
