Expérience fantastique: Wonderful overview of the collection on the first floor. You come face to face with creations by Panamarenko, MARTE Wery, Dan van Serveren, Roger Raveel, Amedé Cordier and many others. There is also an overview of the art period from 1945 to 1960. Really enjoy. On the ground floor, you will be amazed by the overview of Maarten van de Eynde. GREAT !

Expérience fantastique: Great collection with great Flemish painters, a wealth of which Flanders can be justifiably proud.

Expérience fantastique: Thanks for not creating division!! (ask no CST). Enjoyed the expo, although some works could be done much better.

Expérience fantastique: What a wonderful museum. I went there for Léon Spilliaert and James Ensor. I discovered many painters there who liked me a lot more. Interesting audio guides are included in the price.

Expérience fantastique: An interesting overview of Belgian painting since 1880. Located in a beautiful modernist building (former department store on a cooperative basis).

Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum, part of which has already been renovated. The reception staff are multilingual. The panels in the museum too, there is an audio guide. Reasonable prices, especially for teenagers, who can grow for just €1. I would come back to see him regularly

Expérience fantastique: The museum has been completely redecorated with our own resources. The result is astonishing . Very nice space. The private collection is very worthwhile. So many Belgian artists in one place. Now an exhibition about the Belgian-Argentine connection.

Expérience fantastique: On the occasion of “The Night of the Museums and Galleries” we had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful museum again and this time for free. Mu.ZEE zooms in on Belgian modern and contemporary art from 1880 to today. The temporary exhibition 'From Brussels to Buenos Aires: modern art from Belgium and Argentina 1910 - 1958' was also on display. This beautiful museum is highly recommended for all art lovers who visit Ostend or on the coast

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely worth seeing. Modern museum with a collection of paintings by Belgian painters, presented in an interesting way.

Josee Heuts 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: The museum has been completely renovated. The beautiful collection now comes into its own. It mainly consists of work by Flemish painters. But Raoul Servais also gets his place. You can see three short films in a separate room and another one elsewhere. On the ground floor there are changing exhibitions. Count on 2 to 3 hours for a visit.

Expérience fantastique: The museum to visit if you like modern Belgian art. A completely new layout of the premises since the restoration makes it possible to see at a glance several works that dialogue with each other across styles and eras.

Expérience fantastique: Mu.ZEE shows an impressive overview of the work of James Ensor and Leon Spilliaert. Top works by two intriguing artists, who demand attentive looking. The museum is located in a former department store with art deco elements. In the semi-permanent installation an overview of Belgian art from around 1830 to the present. Do not skip if you are in Ostend.

Expérience fantastique: A great space for Ensor's work

Hugo Parugo 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Despite having stayed in Oostende a number of times over the years, this is the first time I have visited this museum, the Mu.Zee. I found the visit very successful. Although a large part of the 1st floor was not accessible, as a new exhibition is being set up there, the 12 euro entrance fee (for adults, pensioners 10 euro) was reasonable for visiting all exhibitions.

Expérience fantastique: A very nice museum which, when I was there, presented, in addition to its exhibitions and its permanent collection, the magnificent works of James Ensor and Leon Spilliaert usually kept in the Antwerp museum. It was wonderful ! Otherwise, a diverse and rich collection and funny or exciting exhibitions (like the one devoted to the cartoonist Raoum Servais).

hans hillewaert 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Impressive museum in a former department store with a quirky layout. Houses a large collection of art (1850 to present) with a special attention to works of Ensor and Spilliaert.
