Expérience fantastique: What a wonderful museum that was. Get to know the city of Ypres in a very educational way. With all kinds of videos and screens. Also very child friendly museum. Recommended.

Expérience fantastique: Nice museum with accessible information. It has enriched our knowledge of Ypres and Belgium in general. But most of all it was just fun.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice little museum with an interactive and fun museography and scenography. The presentation makes it possible to interest children (and adults). So do not hesitate to take the combined ticket with the in Flanders Field Museum

Expérience fantastique: Very nice interactive museum. Funny approach, very neat and nicely executed. Kids thought cat quest was the max! Recommended!

Davy Dewaele 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Love how they make it appealing to the kids with the different quests, the games and don't forget the great history video!!

Baldwin Van Steen 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A very nice building with very friendly workers. What else do you want? The temporary exhibition about the cat was the hit for me. This is a museum that is at home in all markets. Good for children and playfully conceived, but also interesting old elements due to the traditional context and architecture.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum, definitely recommended for children! Even our daughter of 4 had a lot of fun for 2 hours!

Marcel Dobbe 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Nice interactive exhibition so that our children aged 7 and 5 also had to actively search for information. Also nice videos and nice that everything is under one theme.

Patrick De Smaele 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Super beautiful beautiful. Much respect for the administration of the city of Ypres in order to make the halls and the museum visit pleasant and very instructive for visitors. I'm from Ghent, and I have to admit with full conviction that the city council of Ghent can do something about this.

Expérience fantastique: Temporary exhibition about the Cat is interesting. The part of the exhibition about Ypres history contains too much reading material and is therefore long-winded.

Lore D'Helft 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Super cool museum! Interactive, clear explanations (good amount) and with a touch of humor. Highly recommended! Exhibition 'Cat' was definitely worth the effort!

Jan Verstraeten 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Nice museum about the history of Ypres. Beautiful and very interactive. Our criterion is always: does the exhibition bring things to life or not and this one totally does. The exhibition Poes, which was included, was certainly worth the effort. Corona replaced the interactive part by a very clear and complete guide. Well done!

Janne Vanhemmens 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Top museum. Very modern, very nice videos. Everything very well, understandable and explained chronologically. 1st WO is rightly skipped. I read and watched everything in 2.5 hours. You can use the Museumpas and Uitpas here. During corona you have to book online. I had the museum to myself alone on a Tuesday morning!

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting museum. Shows the history of Ypres very well. Enjoyed the humor hidden in it

Expérience fantastique: The Yper Museum is not to be confused with IFFM (In Flanders Field Museum). They are located next to each other in the former cloth hall of Ypres. We visited the museum because of the temporary exhibition 'Poes'. You first go through the permanent exhibition about Ypres. Very educational, modern and child-friendly. Then you have the exhibition over Cats through time and then a floor higher to view another part of the museum.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum about the history of Ypres ... Definitely recommended with children ...

Hans De keersmaecker 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: This museum gives you an overview of Ypres through time, interesting to see how the city played its role in history. For the children there is a special search for all the cats in the museum and there are games in between tailored to their needs. Both we and the children enjoyed the visit to this museum. You can combine this with the 'In Flanders Fields' museum.

Expérience fantastique: With every visit you will see something that you had missed last time(s). Also with children definitely worth the effort. Beautiful works of art and this year the temporary exhibition 'CAT' is really great

Expérience fantastique: Very nice and child friendly

Expérience fantastique: You can see a number of beautiful things in this museum, the council chamber alone is worth the effort. The setup is a bit too busy, there is sound from all sides. The welcome is friendly. There is a lift to the two floors.

Expérience fantastique: Educative and Interactive for children!

Expérience fantastique: People are amazed where those testimonials and photos, paintings all come from. Finally, you can have an old-fashioned picture drawn, thank you. A photo of 1920 that they send by email to your address ... They kissed that already! Witty

Expérience fantastique: Fun, interesting for young (6 year old son) and old!

ArtisticBuilding 3 years ago

Expérience fantastique: This is a perfect museum to explore Ypres' past up until WW1. It's mostly designed for children, but serious and informative enough to enjoy as adults too, yet also comical (the video in the theatre in the attic is very funny). Also nice and moody in terms of lighting. There's also a space dedicated to findings from the drowned polders nearby. It has erotic pins from the Middle Ages, a very unique subject. Decorating the walls are amazingly high quality paintings, and in the attic some of the best old photos of Ypres I've ever seen. Very qualitative museum.

Expérience fantastique: Good value for money

Expérience fantastique: Compact museum, spread over 3 floors, with a lot of information about the history of Ypres. Incredibly fun and interactive for young and old. Even our 1 year old son had a great time thanks to the projections, models and looking for the kitten with an (NFC) bracelet. Definitely recommended with children. Easy to do within 2 hours. Also with a pram or wheelchair.

Expérience fantastique: Yper Museum is just fantastic! Here a beautiful view of the city from the Middle Ages to today .. Very interactive and a gem for children. Playfully they discover the story of Ypres here. A museum for young and less young

Expérience fantastique: Visited with grandchildren 7 and 9 y, was very pleasant and exciting, also a warm welcome from the very friendly and helpful staff

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting history of Yepres

Emmy Deschuymer 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: What a fantastic fun museum for adults and children. Because of the many DIY assignments for children from 5-6 years, they will not be bored for a second. The younger children can then feed their eyes and help with brother or sister.

July jurgen Vanoplynes Dewickere 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Very ingeniously constructed. And child friendly! OUR new Museum is beautiful and educational!

Daam van Dijk 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: For a city that is full of the First World War, this is a welcome change. You will learn a lot about the history of Ypres in a well-designed and interactive exhibition. The big question for us remained only, why is Ypres also called the cat city?

Christian K 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: The history of the city of Ieper / Ypres / Ypres over eleven centuries prepared exciting. Much interactive with Leon, the hangover and virtual inhabitants of the city. With the cat bracelet you can activate spoken texts. Nicely made especially for children. Definitely visit.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum for children and adults. The slightly older children also loved doing the assignments!

Annemiek coolen 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Very attractive for children, really worth it. By coincidence visited by an unexpected downpour, hub definitely recommended!

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting and well put together

Jo Loobuyck 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Solid new addition to Ypres! It doesn't always have to be world war 1.

Elise Roussel 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Family visit with two children aged 8 and 6. Great welcome. The scenography is very well done. Special mention for the rather funny little animated film in the projection area on the 2nd floor. Everything is also very well studied for the children: they have a bracelet which gives them access to puzzles on a tablet throughout the course to win a small gift at the shop at the end of the visit.

Helen Colvin 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Excellent for children. They get to do a scavenger hunt using the admission bracelets, and a kid's bracelet unlocks different content including games related to the historical artifacts and art presented than what the adults' bracelets offer. Discount for a family ticket, and if you get the "combi" ticket with the In Flanders Fields museum.
