Expérience fantastique: Very nicely done, not just the museum pieces, but the architecture as well. This is free for peregrinos, with free bag check-in (you will need a one euro piece, which you get back). A great way to learn about the history of the various Caminos, and chaconne music.

Expérience fantastique: Museum that the pilgrim cannot miss. Admission was free, although prices were indicated at the door (€2-3). The exhibition is worthwhile as it explains and illustrates the entire evolution of the path and the pilgrim. There are three floors but the visit is not long at any time. Recommended visit if you are in Santiago.

Expérience fantastique: The Museum of Pilgrimages, located next to the Compostela Cathedral, is an interesting place to visit before entering the world of the cathedral and its artistic heritage, as it allows to know in depth the history behind this centennial pilgrimage route, from the concept of pilgrimage in different cultures throughout the world, the antecedents of the discovery of the relics of the Apostle and the diversification of iconographic representations, to the architectural evolution of the cathedral and the urban development of the city. Highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: A very interesting museum. Very beautiful objects are presented. The point of view is scientific: historical, anthropological without any bigotry. Perfect for visitors who do not come on a pilgrimage but are interested in the history of this one and the city. Few visitors compared to the cathedral. The museography is modern and it's free!

Expérience fantastique: Platerias Square, 2 15782 Santiago de Compostela La Coruna, Spain. It is a museum of several floors, where each exhibition tells us the history of the pilgrimage, Galician customs and materials that were used in those times, there are also very beautiful pictures of history. It is an impressive museum, located in the same Plaza de Platerías, it is a good place to get to know a small part of the history of the pilgrimages to Santiago, clothes that were used, and above all a part of the exhibition is the wood carvings (Wooden Figures), are a real wonder. Since it is right next to the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, I recommend that you go to visit the museum.

Expérience fantastique: Very interesting museum with a beautiful collection of passages left in history by pilgrims, paintings, testimonials, descriptions and much more. Entrance for pilgrims only € 1.20. Leaving the backpack in the lockers downstairs I made a stop at the beautiful photographic exhibition 1930-40.

Expérience fantastique: Museum very nice, bright and presenting a modern museography. The path of St Jacques and placed in the context of pilgrimages around the world and then discussed in detail (origins, political importance, etc.). Do not miss the models upstairs showing the architectural evolution of the cathedral, or the view from the top of the building. Very nice home.

Expérience fantastique: You have to go, see it, try to keep an open mind for the kind of art that is going to find one there and enjoy it. You can not explain in a Google review the years of history that you can find a few centimeters from your face. The color, the smell, the materials ... will teleport you to the time without a doubt.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum - be sure to check out the 1:25 scale model of the cathedral!

Expérience fantastique: Very nice and nice museum for all tourists who want to discover the history of Spain

Francisco Manuel 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: I liked it very much, mainly the archaeological remains, such as the head of a Galician-Roman warrior from Castro Lupario, Rois, Brion. It also has a torc and several Celtic bracelets, etc. The subject of pilgrimages to me no longer interests me much. They have a temporary exhibition hall.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice building in Platerias Square and next to the cathedral. Former headquarters of the Bank of Spain. Restored and very modern interior. The contents are really valuable because of their age. There is a model of the beautiful cathedral. It has windows on the roof that show the clock tower from very original angles.
