Expérience fantastique: I have to give this 5 stars for its rich simplicity and authenticity. The house and cellars of the museum were decorated as if to take you back in time. The artwork is another added bonus to the museum. It’s not large but still is rich with works of art. I loved it and one Can visit, study, learn and not be overly tired.

Expérience fantastique: Great place to see a restored building, and learn more about El Greco.

Expérience fantastique: Worth visiting to learn more depth about El Greco, especially if it remains free entry. The signs say 3 EUR but a nice lady waved me through the entrance. A house with various rooms displaying El Greco originals or copies and works by related artists, with good historical text in English and Spanish. Takes around an hour

Expérience fantastique: Magnifique parc entourant un petit mais convaincant musée d'œuvres du Greco. Site historique, très attrayant.

Expérience fantastique: Cute museum/house with an in-depth history of El Greco’s life.

The staff were so friendly and the grounds were absolutely charming, especially seeing the traditional architecture and the paintings that made El Greco so famous. Well worth the visit, especially if you're in Toledo!

Expérience fantastique: Lovely little museum. Just enough of everything and a special collection of his (and his school’s) art.

Expérience fantastique: Worth visiting to form an idea of the place where El Greco lived and worked.

Expérience fantastique: One of the nicest museums I have ever visit. The paintings were incredible and it was so cheep. If you are a student you can visit it for free

Expérience fantastique: Small but well organised museum. It is really educational as it tries to explain the details of El Greco's work in a simple manner in order to make it approachable to the non experts. The personal is really friendly and helpful. 100% deserves to be in your visit list when in Toledo.

Expérience fantastique: Un endroit formidable où il y a tant à apprendre. L'art et l'histoire qui le sous-tend sont fascinants. C'était très instructif. Le site est très bien entretenu et comporte plusieurs cours et jardins magnifiques.

Expérience fantastique: when visiting this museum you will immediately know what you signed up for as it displays the work of ‘El Greco’ quite predominantly. I remember reading that some are as old as the 16th century and they were all in great condition. I enjoyed making my way down to this museum and being able to see the final works of ‘El Greco’ in the town where he was eventually laid to rest. I suggest stopping because when I originally searched ‘Toledo’ this museum was one of the first places that popped up and it did not disappoint

Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum! Open all week days and Sundays also! El Greco or Dominicos Theotokopoulos had been charmed from the magic of Toledo...

Expérience fantastique: A nice little museum with a beautiful garden. Good for an hours's tour.

Expérience fantastique: This museum is very well organized. It offers a collection of about 20-25 paintings of El Greco, and about 30-40 of other paintings related to the same subjects and to the school following his imprint. Besides you will find a rich multimedia support offering many comments and information useful to understand, the historic period, the painter and his impressive work. You can learn how this painter anticipated expressive solutions that have been understood and celebrated only much later, in the XX century. Some will recognize, for example, the roots of the style of Marc Chagall.

Expérience fantastique: Free to enter and worth a visit. Even if you not into old art it's a great historic building.

Expérience fantastique: Great museum, lovely done. We learned a lot about an amazing artist who was ahead of his time.

john wilkes 4 years ago

Expérience fantastique: We were expecting to be somewhat underwhelmed, but found this to be a beautifully presented small museum built around some spectacular El Greco works, as well as some of his near contemporaries. The building itself proved interesting - it helped established the style for "boutique" artist venues. There was an informative video about his painting techniques that helped us look at the paintings in a new light.

Expérience fantastique: One room of glorious El Greco portraits. Beautiful authentic layout. Very pretty garden.

Expérience fantastique: Definitely worth checking out and be sure to allow sufficient time to not just see the exhibitions and structures but also to sit in the courtyard and read a book, relax and while away the time a little. A beautiful part of the Jewish Quarter in historic Toledo.

Expérience fantastique: students can pay 0€ to enter into Meseo del Greco and enjoy all contents inside. you can enjoy handreds of Greco's work from childhood to die. this should be the most precious time for Greco lovers. it is far away from bus station and near to the dirty green river. so, you should go and walk along the river!

Expérience fantastique: It's an amazing way to know everything about El Greco, his and others art. It's also very cheap and free for students

Bill Cowell 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A good collection of El Greco's work and descriptions of Toledo at the time he was here. Entry is free.

Expérience fantastique: The wine, steaks, and the service was great. I wish we had more time to go again, but must move on! Ennoy

Expérience fantastique: On 05/23/2018, we found the museum closed due to unspecifed technical reasons. No indication as to an expected reopening. Toledo was otherwise great! Update, open again... Visited 24 Oct 2018. Probably the only place to see multiple Grecos in one place.

Expérience fantastique: Casa del Greco is a pretty place located in the heart of old Toledo dedicated to the memory of a fascinating artist and man. Really worth visiting.

Gabrielle Turner 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A really interesting place to see El Greco's work.

irene photaki 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: So tranquil & soothing. Everything from the atmosphere to the exhibits. The price is unreal. Having to pay 10 euros for the Cathedral while only 3 for El Greco, leaves me speechless.( for there is no comparison between the two ). A MUST!!

Gábor Tóth 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Don't expect an extensive collection, the Casa is more of an immersion to the time and location where the master worked. But it is a unique experience, a definite must-see.

Olivia Jastrzemski 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: This museum is really amazing. The architecture and 'remake' of El Greco's original house is stunning. The paintings and the history of El Greco are beautifully represented. If you are in Toledo, this is a must!

William Wei 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A small museum, but the grounds are beautiful and very well kept. Highly recommended for the gardens alone.

Carlos Maximo Cantú 5 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Not expensive to enter; although the gift shops is. Easily the highest concentration of El Greco's work. Although perhaps not the most exclusive or well-known works, an extraordinary experience nonetheless.

Expérience fantastique: Domenikos Theotokopoulos (a.k.a. El Greco) is the greatest painter that ever lived in Toledo. His museum is set close to where it is believed he spent most of his time while in this city. Alongside with his paintings, there are the ones from his son and other students and imitators, which only elevates El Greco's art to a higher level. The property has nice gardens and outer corridors that can be accessed to see how life was there back in the day. The museum has a free access on Saturday afternoon (after 2 PM) and Sundays.

Supriya Sarkar 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: For all art buffs, this should be like a pilgrimage. Entrance is free. Flash less photography allowed. It shows the life, time and work of the famous Spanish painter, Doménikos Theotokópoulos or "el Greco" as widely known.

Linton Nightingale 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A lovely little museum paying homage to this artist. Guided tours are available to give you deeper insight into the artist's life and paintings and help you better appreciate his works.

Teta Stef 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Coming from the birth place of El Greco that is Fodele in Crete Greece I was really pleased of what I saw and made me proud that I am from the same village...Great place really informative and also loved the form and structure...

Kamil Hajduczenia 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Nice location, great paintings. Remember not to visit it on Monday - you will find the museum closed.

Alicia Martin 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic museum, and on Sunday's it's free! The museum is in the house that Greco lived in when he was living in Toledo. Very cool building, and there is tons of his original paintings and information about his painting style and those that learned from him. Definitely worth visiting.

Lance Giannola 6 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Not just a museum - it's a little garden-park Oasis. The El Greco works are fine, but the key is the context for his work the museum interprets.

Balkan Bug 7 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Free on Saturday and Sunday in specific hours. Worth visiting the chapel. Not the real house of El Greco.

Sam Leighton 7 years ago

Expérience fantastique: A fabulous collection of el Greco masterpieces in an interesting and quaint museum. The full collection of Jesus and his disciples is unmissable.
