Esperienza fantastica: Amazing. Joyful. Vibrant. Vivid. Worth coming again!

Esperienza fantastica: Very nice museum, quiet and maybe a bit dark. And finally ending up having a cocktail on the rooftop. The view is amazing. We sat at the bar on the side where all highlights are mentioned on the railing.

Esperienza fantastica: Very recommended if you want to have a grasp of Catalan history. The museum also have an amazing roof top restaurant with amazing views of the port.

Esperienza fantastica: Really fascinating and well done history of the area that you would otherwise miss out on. Well laid out chronological museum with good audio guide available on mobile phone

Esperienza fantastica: A very interesting look in the history of a country that ultimately got screwed by their neighbours, the persistence of Catalan culture and the revival of modern Catalanism. It is definitely something to visit though be prepared to spend many hours to give it your full focus. I hope with the lessons presented in this museum that Catalonia is never again supressed and embraced in full.

Esperienza fantastica: This museum is so great. It is so detailed and there's so much to learn and absorve, I was there for about 2 hours but I could've easily spent more time inside. The audioguide is free, you can use your phone to access it but remember to take your headphones. I really recommend this place to History geeks like myself.

Esperienza fantastica: The museum has some interactive parts which made it more interesting. The entrance is rather cheap and I thought it is well organized and well worth the visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Very nice museum and not expensive English explanation, lot of topic to learn and many "games" for kids like wearing clothes, school etc.. Kids had so much fun

Grazie. ????

Esperienza fantastica: It is a must if you want to learn about the Catalonia history, very interesting info from prehistoric times till today. There are two floors in the museum (accessible with wheelchairs also), try not to miss the second one (18th century - today). Reasonable pricing.

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic place to learn the history of Catalyunia, and the previous residents of the area, from the stone age era through to the Roman conquest, and the current struggle for independence from Spain. Very bright and clean place and the staff were very helpful and informative and there is so much to see that in the few hours I was there, I couldn't do so.

Esperienza fantastica: Love these dark horse places. Cheap and full of new things to learn and explore.

Esperienza fantastica: Very interesting museum, traces the history of Catalunya from prehistory to today. If you think there's no difference between Spain and Catalunya, you'll be surprised to find out that there is a clear historical and cultural reason behind the recent independence movement.

Esperienza fantastica: Just wow! Interactive museum perfect for visiting during too hot or raining days. We has so much fun and learned a lot.

Ryan Oliver 4 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: A beautiful way to discover the culture of the region! We learnt a lot about the history of the Catalonian people and the Catalan language. We left the museum with more knowledge than when we arrived.

Esperienza fantastica: Certainly deserves a five star - what a brilliant museum if you are interested in the history of Catalonia. Lots of little interactive exhibits to explore, English explainations throughout. There's also an interesting temporary exhibition showing at the moment (August) about dress making and design through time. Brilliant tiny gallery space for children to interact. Absolutely loved it. Up stairs on the top floor there's a terrace with fantastic views, restaurant is a bit on the expensive side for me, but I would recommend the view on it's own!

Esperienza fantastica: One of the best history museums we've seen in a while. It's totally worth the visit. I want to call it a hidden gem, but it's really not hidden - it's just a gem. Audio guide is offered for free through WiFi and the official website of the museum. I would highly recommend to visit if you at all interested in learning more about Catalonia. Additionally, bar at the top of the museum offers amazing views of the harbor.

Esperienza fantastica: GREAT museum, lots of information. Plaques in front of exhibits are in catalan, español, and english, but captions for a lot of photos/objects in the exhibit are in catalan only (see photos). There is a free audioguide with entry (accessible via your own phone/device on their website) that is available in several languages, but it summarizes a lot of the information rather than actually going through everything. That said being fluent in English & Spanish I didn’t find it difficult to determine what the photo captions in Catalan said from the plaque descriptions and other context. The museum has a lot of interactive exhibits and would be great for students or other young people. I am a history buff so I spent several hours there and could have easily spent a full day there, but it is a lot of reading (even if you only speak English/Spanish and are only reading the plaques). Exhibits cover from prehistory through to a modern day exhibit (claiming to cover until 2007 but much of it is still very relevant). There is a restaurant/café upstairs (one or both open depending on what time you go) which was good but slightly overpriced, as museum restaurants tend to be. We ate some tapas at the rooftop terrace, which had very very loud music playing and most seats in the shade were already taken when we arrived, so this may not be a good option for everyone. I am not sure if you could leave to get food and reenter, but you do receive a ticket and a sticker upon purchase, so I suspect you could reenter. Entry was 6,50€ for regular exhibits and temporary exhibits, and all employees I came across spoke English and Spanish (and probably Catalan but as I don’t speak it I can’t testify to that).

Esperienza fantastica: If I could I would give it 6 years. It was one of the best museums I have been to. There are ways you can interact with the expositions and music you can play from the period you are looking at. I didn't expect it at all. The price is 4.50 euros for an adult and 3.50 for a student if you have an ISIC card. It was amazing and I would visit it again.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing building. Such beautiful architecture. The entrance is free, but you can make a donation to the museum if you wish. I would say you need 2 to 3 hours to enjoy your visit. There are so many exhibits and it's worth taking your time readind and learning about them.

Esperienza fantastica: Very interesting and for sure NOT the typical “boring” kind of museum. By many different ways, the history of Catalunya is presented. You can see, hear, touch and feel each part of it with expositions, pictures, films, objects, sculptures and whole areas arranged, for example, as a typical room, house, garden, church and etc., in all the ages from ancient times to nowadays. I personally recommend you to leave as much time as you can for spending there. *Tips and advantages: 1. You don’t need to buy ticket online like it is for many other touristic places in Barcelona. It is not too crowded and it’s cheeper on spot. 2. There is a discount if you are under 26 years old. 3. You pay only 3-5 EUR and get almost the WHOLE information you may need about Catalunya. 4. They also offer free online and easy to use guide in there website, which explains you in very interesting way how to guide yourself in the halls. 5. It is very well organized and the staff is also very attentive. 6. Easy access by metro and very easy to the beach area, where you can take a pleasant walk to perceive all the interesting information you will receive. 7. On the top of the building there is a nice bar&dinner, and a pleasant terrace with a nice view. If you don’t want to enter the restaurant, you can only take a look at the view and continue your journey around Barcelona.

Esperienza fantastica: This is amazingly arranged. If you are even remotely interested in history and culture, this is a must-see in Barcelona. Admission is cheap, under €5 and I believe €3.50 for students and over 65s.

Esperienza fantastica: I found out so much about the history! Very great walk through for the history of catalonia. We went during the independence voting and riots!

Muhieddin Takkoush 7 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: It introduces you to the history of catalunya by specific details since prehistoric times. It makes you fall in love with this city and its people. Though it may require at least 2 hours of your time if you want to stop and read the deacriptions written. As you read more, you feel yourself indulged into the timelines and you can imagine the events happening as if you were there. You can go there by metro to Barceloneta station. It's a 5 minute walk from the station, and the entrance fee is very cheap, around 5€ Beware if you do not know english, spanish or catalan. Otherwise it would be a boring experience, and you wouldn't understand anything.

Jan Gregor 7 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Very nice, modern and quite interactive museum! One of those, where you don't have to afraid go with kids ;-) Don't forget to have a coffee on the roof - amazing view!
