Esperienza positiva: Il museo era piccolo ma abbiamo trovato la nostra breve visita qui abbastanza educativa. C'è stato un momento alla mostra fotografica che è stata un'esperienza emotiva. Il personale della reception è stato adorabile.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing museum.

Esperienza fantastica: Questo era un museo molto istruttivo e straziante proprio nel cuore della parte più antica di Girona. Uno viene trasportato indietro nel tempo e la storia è stata ben presentata senza molto sentimentalismo.

Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful museum situated in the old Jewish quarter. Included parts of the old Jewish baths, synagogue and excavation site. Highly recommend. Also let’s you store your luggage. This museum left no stone unturned. The research done was incredible. Detailed descriptions of Jewish life in Cataluña. Some obscure facts including on Jewish mysticism, womens contributions, specific customs & celebrations, even listing specific names of different kinds of trades people. And they did not gloss over the treatment of the Jews by the dominant Catholic rulers and during the Inquisition. The peaceful rooftop garden counter-balanced these brutal stories.

Esperienza fantastica: Museo ebraico storico e quartieri ebraici rendono questo posto una visita interessante a Girona. I vicoli stretti e le svolte misteriose rendono questo posto un'esperienza indimenticabile.

Esperienza fantastica: An interesting, education and enriching place. There ARE a few translation/copying errors but that's nothing in comparison to the rest

Esperienza fantastica: Very interesting history of Girona Jews, Columbus was one if them. The Jews lived there for 5 centures until their expulsion, they were medics, astronomers, astrologers, map and instrument makers, without their contribution Columbus discovery of the New World would not be possible

Esperienza fantastica: This museum has one of the most impressive collection of artifacts, objects and jewish heritage I've ever seen. The whole place is like going back in time! If you're taking a history trip in Girona, this place is a must. The people who work there are polite and friendly.

Esperienza fantastica: The museum is interesting and full of ambient. It’s located in what used to be the synagogue of one of the famous Jewish communities of medieval times. It tells the story of its greatness and its demise by means of torture and forced conversion.

David Fischer 4 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: This museum is a jewel in Girona not to be missed. Effectively presents the story of the Jewish community in this medieval town, from the 10th century to the Inquisition ion 1492. Through artifacts, stories and well described displays, it tells the story of the Jews growth and persecution.

Esperienza fantastica: Tip: teachers with identification get half off the admission fee. I spent about 1.5 hours learning about the 600 years that Jews lived in Girona. Many artifacts help to tell the story, including the mikveh used by the community so many years ago. I appreciated that most of the museum's displays included English alongside Catalan and Spanish.

Esperienza fantastica: Impressive museum made around an archaeological site. You feel how a vibrant medieval community was destroyed by the Inquisition.

Hadas H 5 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: The main aim of the Museum is to preserve and reflect the history of the Jewish communities of Catalonia, which throughout the entire medieval period formed part of, and made a decisive contribution to, the history of the country and its cultural and scientific development. The Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492.

Esperienza fantastica: Had a lovely experience, and joined group with a tour guide. Unfortunately didn't catch the name of the lady who took us around, but she was so lovely and informative. A beautiful building, finished off with a walk around the city learning about its Jewish history. Would highly recommend. Also reasonably priced and worth it!

Esperienza fantastica: This museum tells the history of a vibrant and significant community. Girona was known as the Mother City of Israel and many scholars were based here. It also tells the painful story of the expulsion of the Jewish community from Girona. I will never forget the collection of grave stones which were taken from the Montjuic grave site and repurposed as building materials in the city. The museum has reclaimed and restored these stones. A painful lesson that we must remember.

Esperienza fantastica: This Jewish museum is amazing , especially to people that are interested in history and culture , inside it there are lots of antique pieces which explain the old jewish civilization in this area at that time . Returning back in history , exactly to the 12th century , when the Jewish community of Girona had flourished, they had one of the most important Kabbalistic schools in Europe

Dan Gazit 5 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Very impressive and concise museum presenting the history of the Jews in Spain & Catalonia, and of specifically of Girona. The museum is intended for Jews and non Jews alike. It is located in the well-preserved Jewish quarter of Girona, over an old Jewish house with a recently-discovered mikveh (ritual bath).
