🗣️ The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts: Opinioni
Esperienza fantastica: Loving it. It is definitely worth it for your time! If you have never been there, you must visit at least once in your lifetime. There is a masterpiece from 1838!
Esperienza fantastica: This place is absolutely worth it to visit when you're coming to Montreal! I visited the place on a weekend which coincidentally was the first 'sunday' of the month. This meant that the visit was free of cost (just one exhibition, if you want to visit the rest, you'll have to buy a ticket). There wasn't much crowd as well. The art pieces and sculptures kept here really leave a good impact on you and you're left with a sense of amazement over their grandeur.
Esperienza fantastica: One could easily spend a day here. There are five different buildings with paintings and art forms across the decades. I was mesmerized with the temporary installation and the permanent installations are equally noteworthy. If you are looking to educate yourself or just immerse yourself in art, this is the place to be! It made my Montreal trip even more meaningful.
Esperienza fantastica: The museum is fascinating, very cozy, you can spend the whole day there and time will pass magically while you fill yourself with culture and art! I loved it!
Esperienza fantastica: Fabulous selection of exhibits. Wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Free entry 1 st Sunday of every month.
Esperienza fantastica: A very impressive collection of art from every genre and time period imaginable. I enjoyed the collection of contemporary art they most. We spent three hours there and could have spent another three easily! Very nice and reasonably priced bistro for lunch too!
Esperienza fantastica: Pros (many): Beautiful museum. A must visit for those who love art. Very polite and inviting staff at the ground level entrance (Thank you for the lovely first impression!). Con (only one ): The male staff at the Shary Boyle exhibition (September 7) needs to smile and be more inviting. I didn't spend as much time that I wanted in that room because I felt I'm watched for my every movement. Photos: I avoid posting photos of exhibits because it's better to see them in person. I'm sharing photos of stairwells because there's beauty in them too.
Esperienza fantastica: The most expressive art in all Montreal. From old to new to future to present, every piece (or should I simply say monument) is extremely detailed and amazing.
Esperienza fantastica: Love the free tour at this museum. Volunteer guide gave us stories behind the art pieces. Very knowledgeable and interesting.
Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic mix of world and Canadian art. You'll never forget the beaver painting. Don't forget to go to s2 for the tunnel or you'll miss half of it.
Esperienza fantastica: I would like to share the great experience I had at the "Musée Des Beaux Arts De Montréal" it's have been more than 15 years since I have not been there, I've enjoyed each second of it, l couldn't get enough of all the arts i got the chance to re-see and understand better. I did some research about the great family "Hornstein", which you will get to see their contributions to the Museum and the city in general a lot.
Esperienza fantastica: Very much enjoyed the experience here today. A fine collection of Canadian and European artworks on exhibition. Unfortunately the indigenous floor was closed temporarily. Especially impressed by some of the sculputures and carvings. Had a nice break in the cafe and picked up some items to bring home to Ireland on the shop. Staff were universally pleasant and helpful in both languages. Presentation of the works enhanced their beauty. Great to see the evution of Canadian art. The people of Montreal can be proud of this institution. Give yourself a few hours, have a break, buy a few cards, bring stamps and write them in a charming venue while the images are fresh in your mind. There is a helpful App to download which assists a visitor to make the most oc what is on view. Next time I will be more mindful of the timing of guided tours and will check them in advance.
Esperienza fantastica: The Montreal Museum of Fine Art has an excellent permanent collection which I really enjoyed. The Nicolas Party exhibit was really good too.
Esperienza fantastica: Service: standard and polite employees wear your bag infront of you (so you don't knock art by accident) Seated? There are some benches on every floor to rest your legs Venue decor: really nice! The art is beautiful, there are many floors Come back? Yes, before i turn 21 omg! It's free at 20 and below. I remember it's $16 over 21 to a certain age, and there's another price i forgot for another age range WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES TO WALK Please Like if this review helped you!
Esperienza fantastica: One hour is not enough to get full experience here, you need to reserve at least 2-3 hours. Decent art installations and atmosphere, highly recommend to visit.
Esperienza fantastica: We really enjoyed our day-long visit. Make sure you leave enough time to visit all 4 exhibitions as at least 6 hours was required in our visit. Totally worth the ticket price.
Esperienza fantastica: If you're 30 and under, be sure to sign up for a membership! You get unlimited access to the museum, among many other great features. My favourite place to browse art for hours in Montreal.
Esperienza fantastica: I love this museum. I’m never disappointed. Always interesting exhibits every season. The Nicolas Party exhibit going on presently is lovely and colourful. Worth going to see!
Esperienza fantastica: It's more than old paintings and sculptures. The MMFA curates some lovely exhibits that really make you stop and think. Access is free on the first Sundays of the month and you can visit the temporary exhibits for 1/2 price on Wednesday evenings. Give yourself 3-4 hours to visit the permanent and temporary collections. I did myself a favor and became a member; visit 4 times and the membership pays for itself, not to mention member nights with DJs and cocktails. Definitely a good local tourism stop.
Esperienza fantastica: A beautiful museum full of all kinds of art from all eras of human history. Definitely worth a trip if you're visiting the city. It's a mainstay for school trips and family outings in Montreal, for good reason. The museum also holds lots of activities for artists aged 1-100.
Esperienza fantastica: The Museum offers lots of exhibits to enjoy. It has at least 2 buildings that are connected underground across the street. You could spend hours there. Free admission for people under 20.
Esperienza fantastica: Excellent exhibits, beautiful environment, impressive collection, this is a must-see when you visit Montreal
Esperienza fantastica: Great indoor activity!! Had almost 6 floors of exhibitions. Each floor with different styles and themes. Spent a good 3h walking around and taking picture.
Esperienza fantastica: Spent almost 5 hours wondering around this place. It’s one of my top favorite museums around the world. I loved the exhibitions going on and the variety of art. The seatings and couches throughout was amazing. So inviting and they want you to sit and contemplate the art. I love it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back soon because I didn’t even get to see it all.
Esperienza fantastica: Truly amazing experience Plan atleast a half day visit or possibly the whole day if you can. Ecological section defntly ranks first for me. Here are some of the work which caught my attention and I loved it.
Esperienza fantastica: My favorite museum, hands down. I was able to see all 8 floors ( 4 each building) in 4 hours, but you can definitely finish in 2hrs. Just get the map and stick to your plan. My favorite floor was early modern art. And of course this cool monkey from the 70’s lol
Esperienza fantastica: A must see for art buffs! Perfect for a rainy day - we spent about 2 hours here and still didn’t get to finish all there was to see. The special echo exhibit was phenomenal!
Esperienza fantastica: I thoroughly enjoyed this museum, and it took almost a full day to visit - which I didn't expect, it's a much larger museum than I imagined! Alongside its permanent exhibitions - which are very well and interestingly curated - it had a lot, and I mean a LOT, of temporary exhibitions, each one more interesting than the other! Out of the temporary exhibitions I really enjoyed Ecologies: A song for our planet exhibition. But again, their permanent collection is a must do, it's an interesting and bold curation! Unfortunately, 2 of the pavillions were closed for renovations, but to honest I don't think we could have visited everything in just one day as we're the type of people who spend time on each work of art.
Esperienza fantastica: Very extensive museum where everyone can find something for themselves. Well, maybe less interesting for kids. It has several buildings and we spent more than 2 hours then, and could have spent more, but got too hungry. You can renter the same day though. The restaurant was closed when we were there. Pretty nice museum shop. Was a bit too cold in the building. I wish they would have requested all passengers to have vaccination pass. I would recommend checking the map of the museum first and starting what interest you the most, cause otherwise you get pretty tired by the end. The museum had art from around the world (my least favorite part probably) on the top floor of one of the buildings, then several contemporary exhibitions, exhibition about saving the planet, one with art from employees of the museum, and a lot more. I would come several times to explore fully.
Esperienza fantastica: I didn't go inside the building. I was only able to go around it and there were lots of arts available outside. They are really creative and beautiful. I can only imagine the inside. Maybe next time I visit Montreal!
Esperienza fantastica: Montreal's best museum - They have some really great permanent and temporary exhibitions. More than just fine art, there are nice collections of contemporary and modern art. The space is expansive and so there's so much to see, I'd say you probably need a few trips to really experience everything. I also really enjoy the architecture of the museum. It's cool to see the different eras fo the museum and the additions that have come after and how they all fit together while still being representative of their era. In the summer, there's also some great sculptures outside of the museum. I think the MBAM is a world class museum so if you enjoy this type of thing, then it's a must see in Montreal.
Esperienza fantastica: This museum was absolutely great. Nice collection of different artists including Canadians and Europeans. Contemporary, Early and modern art exhibits. Surprised to see two beautiful pieces of Picasso’s work here. Due to some renovations only three out of two buildings were available and it was worth visiting.
Esperienza fantastica: Good museum! The coverage of art from Gothic through Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Impressionism is nicely done. The selection is good, although few notable pieces in the collection. There are then some interesting additional fine arts and contemporary exhibitions. In particular the current exhibition on voice was excellent, especially the final room with choir voices. The building is also very impressive, with some lovely window spaces having a great views across downtown Montreal
Esperienza fantastica: Probably by favourite museum in Montréal. Worth spending several hours here. Entry is timed to spread out visits to keep things Covid safe. There is an expansive collection of art and artifacts spanning the ages and the continents. The building itself is stunning and provides gorgeous views of the city. An excellent rainy day activity.
Esperienza fantastica: Great exhibition spaces, with brilliant service too. The gallery once hosted what is by far one of the best fashion exhibitions ever produced, the 'Thierry Mugler, Couturissime' show. The museum is well within walking distance to everything, but parking can be challenging. Do book if possible too.
Esperienza fantastica: When I was younger , I remember the museum having just paintings but now there are a variety of exhibitions. I particularly enjoyed going thru the different cultures and seeing the beautiful objects preserved through time. There was also the Yousuk Karsh photography section. What a remarkable and impressive collection of photos from politicians to actors to renowned scientists (Albert Einstein!).
Esperienza fantastica: The mummy exhibition is unbelievably amazing. It is a must-go for those who likes mummification.
