Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful museum Perfect location close to the city center and great Retiro park Wonderful collection but thankfully not overwhelming in size like some other famous museums Especially liked masterpieces like Rue Saint-Honore, Salvador Dali's Dream, Mondrian's Composition No.1, Woman in Bath, Thomas Cole's Expulsion Moon and Firelight... Portrait of Henry VIII unfortunately was on tour in New York Really liked American landscapes in the Museum Would love to come back

Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful museum. Spent hours there. Lovely pieces of art. Couldn't see it all. Had a Monet, couple of Van Goghs, and a Renoir. My favorites. Also had a cafe that had the best duck we have ever eaten.

Esperienza fantastica: My favorite visit of all Madrid was this museum. A highly curated exhibition with the most amazing modern and contemporary artists and way les crowded than the Prado Museum. If you go to Madrid, this museum is a must.

Esperienza fantastica: This museum was beautiful and every exhibition was fabulous! My daughter, who is an artist, loved it and so did I! We both would highly recommend going and experiencing this museum.

Esperienza fantastica: Went on a Saturday morning (10.30am), 3 min line. Ticket price 13eu. The distribution of the place made it very organic to walk through, and it did not feel crowded so I got to enjoy the paintings a lot more. The collection is quite enjoyable. The style changes a lot from room to room, it felt more distributed by theme. Highly recommended.

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic museum featuring Spanish artists, but also good collections of American paintings and an array of European painters. Wonderful to see the Picassos, having visiting the eponymous museum in Barcelona. Well presented and lit, and a good flow through the building's three floors.

Esperienza fantastica: Un'esperienza indimenticabile. Vale ogni centesimo.

Esperienza fantastica: Enjoyed our time here! It was a 5 min walk from the Prado Museum so very convenient. My bf is an artist so he helped explain certain artworks and styles for me. Has a great range of artworks from the 19th century to modern art. Highly recommend getting your tickets in advance because we were able to skip the line and enter as soon as we got into the building! We bought the Art Walk Pass, which has access to all three museums (Reina Sofia, Prado, and Thyssen-Bornemisza). You save a bit and it's convenient so I recommend getting that! Pictures are also allowed in this museum!

Esperienza fantastica: What an easy museum to take in. My husband and I stopped here and spent the morning walking though the galleries. We absolutely loved everything and the staff made it easy to give directions. We also opted for the audio tour for an extra 5 euro. It was worth the price and be able to get deep understanding about several works in each section.

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic. Interestingly arranged into schools and art groups and styles. Discovered lots of artists. Was thrilled to have seen some great pollacks within a short walk of Hans Holbein portraits. A lovely space. Well worth a visit. Got the skip the queue tickets. Alex Katz was on during our visit. 10/10

Esperienza fantastica: Very nice collection with good variety between old masters to American artists, free on Mondays 2.5 hours is enough

Esperienza fantastica: This museum is a paradise for art-lovers. It has many works (some sculpture, but mostly paintings) by some of the most important artists of the 19th and 20th centuries: Monet, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Chagall, Kandinsky, Moholy-Nagy, Miró, Mondrian, Malevitch, and many others. There is also an impressive collection of earlier artworks. Right now there's a special exhibit of trompe l'oeuil works that's very cool (although in my opinion it stretches the definition of the genre a bit). If art is your thing, plan to spend a fair bit of time at this museum. You can take a break for lunch or a snack at their nice on-site cafe that has indoor and outdoor seating.

Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful classical art. They have medieval art, renaissance, romanticism, neoclassical. And there is an exposition of René Magritte happening now

Lukasz Zbylut 2 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: This is a wonderful museum in a very easy to access place for anyone who has just visited The Prado museum. The tickets to the permanent collection are more than enough and you don't have to get the extra tickets to the temporary exhibits to get value for your money. There is no map of the place and the website is very sparse, so you will have to rely on your own navigational skills to make sure that you see all of the art in the museum. And believe me that the art, much of it by well-known and regarded masters, is worth seeing.

Esperienza fantastica: The Museum must be visited. The collection is rich and interesting for lovers of art. There is audioguide on the right to the entrance. The only one of the popular museums in Madrid where it's allowed to photo. It's possible to visit free of charge on Monday after 12.00 and every day after 18.00. The museum has a big souvenir's store with exclusive gifts. The cafe has the menu of the day and menu with specialities.

Esperienza fantastica: A great Museum. I was in a hurry so could only spend 2 hours there. It's worth at least half a day. So many brilliant artists from 1300 onward. The Magritte exhibition was a bit crowded, but fabulous.

Esperienza fantastica: Im not really a fan of Museums but i must say that this one is really nice and in my humble opinion, it has hundreds or maybe thousands of diverse art pieces so you won't get bored easily . The staff is always alert and helpful, they do speak english. If you love art and paintings, you definitely need to visit this Museum.

Esperienza fantastica: Well, that’s simply a must in Madrid for art lovers. Collection is impressive and the museum is also not too big and can be visited in several hours. Pure pleasure.

Christine 2 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Really great museum, the permanent collection is already so good! A good selection of the best and most interesting artworks of the modern age. But I highly, highly recommend the Magritte exhibition that is currently running until Jan 2022. This was by far the best selection of Magritte I have ever seen.

Esperienza fantastica: I recommend to everyone who loves art to visit this place. I was on Monday when the museum is always free from 12 to 16, 1 hour would be enough if you walk through and look quickly or not everything. It has pictures of different styles, countries and centyries, I enjoyed more landscapes and city scenes, but there were also some curious portraits. Religious thematic was immens too. Definitely everyone finds something interesting for him.

Esperienza fantastica: I went to Museo Del Prado about 4years ago I'm not good at Painting so I just went there because it's the most famous museum in Madrid. And I tried this museum when I visited to Spain again. Actually,It's much better than I expected They have a lot of Painting, some treasures and a few sculptures but the museum isn't huge so I was able to enjoy the paintings comfortably(I meant I didn't walk a lot) I recommend you should check this museum as well as visiting Prado

Esperienza fantastica: A must visit!! The museum is wonderful, they have a permanent collection and they also highlight different artists depending on the season. The paintings are breathtaking and its a great experience to have when in town. In the end, the shop has wonderful jewelry pieces based on the works presented in the museum and the Café is a great place to relax after walking around.

Esperienza fantastica: A wonderful place with various collections. You can easily spend 3 hours there. You can find both temporary and permanent collections. The museum is very modern in its design and brightly colored. Very good location as well (easily accessible). If you're a teacher, the entrance is free.
