Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic artwork, the different rooms are well laid out and wasn’t too crowded at 11am but 2 hours later when I came out, massive queue! I like the fact that they have so many different modern art and the artists are quite varied.

Esperienza fantastica: Really lovely space with some great modern exhibitions and video work - these are found on the ground floor - head up a level and you get to the war propoganda - room 205 - it’s mesmerising and it has superb work by Picasso - Guernica. Watched a video YouTube videos on it before hand and it really really livened it up on seeing it, kids were blown away The propaganda and socialist posters were my favourites throughout though - pictures aren’t allowed in some spaces, staff we positive and the place is well laid out - mostly pictures are of outside spaces.

Esperienza fantastica: Just loved it! Very nice art collection. Just to downsides: the wait to get in and that you're not allowed to take any pictures in the section with the prestigious / famous pieces. I've been there twice, each visit 2-3 h and haven't seen the whole collection or the patience to admire my favorite paintings with patience. This was just enough to get an rough overview! Definitely again on my must-see list for the next Madrid visit!

Esperienza fantastica: Really pleased we bought tickets on line as the queue was long. We loved this modern art gallery and also had audio guides which were incredibly useful. We spent circa 4 hours going around this huge gallery. (You easily spend a day there) Go with a an open mind and you will have a great time. We had lunch in the gallery restaurant (great buzzy environment) which although there was not much vegetarian choice what there was, was lovely.

Esperienza fantastica: Free visitation hours between 7 to 9 pm! There weren't many people on a Thursday evening. We arrived at 6:30 pm and waited inside the associated restaurant. Free tickets are dispensed promptly at 7 pm and the line went pretty quick. Between the ticket line, security check, bag drop, and exhibits being closed 15 minutes prior to 9 pm, you only really get 1.5 hours total. At a comfortable pace, we were not able to see everything as there are endless exhibits spread over 4 floors. Worth your time to visit for Picasso Guernica and Dali paintings.

Esperienza fantastica: Very interesting museum, I think if you are interested in this kind of art you should take you time and really read about everything and maybe if you have time watch some of the short movies playing. Reminded me of The Centre Pompidou in Paris. You can also see some Picasso and Dali paintings. The entry is free from 19 to 21, but you should definitely take the free ticket online as there are 2 separate lines and the one for the people with tickets is shorter and moves way faster.

Esperienza fantastica: Wonderful museum at interesting location ( close to city center, big train station and Retiro park ) Old and massive building ( i think it used to be a hospital - not sure ) The best of all three big museums in Madrid for contemporary art collection Lots of masterpieces including one of the most famous paintings in history - stunning Guernica Finally seeing it live is really extraordinary experience Enjoyed many other works from Dali, Miro and Picasso ... Like a lot Figure at the window & Man with the Pipe I'll return for sure

Esperienza fantastica: My first surprise was that on Sundays, the entry ticket is free of charge for senior people (>65)! The main attraction is the Picasso's Guernica, which is an astonishing and awesome art work. It's not allowed to take pictures in the Guernica's hall. The museum collection of Picasso's, Dali's and Miró's paintings is amazing and extraordinary.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing museum with a lot of galleries to watch and amazing architecture in the back of the building.

Esperienza fantastica: A museum with genuinely too much stuff. You could spend a whole day here and still leave without seeing everything. Fantastic display of contemporary Spanish and European art. The only slight negative was that this place is hard to navigate, I wish there was some sort of map, physical or digital.

Esperienza fantastica: I love it here, even when it’s crowded it’s not too crowded. Lovely and important pieces by Dali, Picasso, and others. The garden part is lovely and so relaxing. The store is good too. Friendly helpful staff. a must when in Madrid.

Esperienza fantastica: Cute gift shop with lots of great gifts. Very organized and clean museum. It was fabulous seeing so many of Pablo Picasso’s works of art.

Esperienza fantastica: Quite possibly the greatest collection of art in one place that I've ever seen. Fortunate enough to have paid a visit to most European galleries collections but can say quite confidently I could spend an entire week here. We paid 2 visits, one in the afternoon for 4 hrs then we went back one evening for 2 hrs.

Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful museum! There are free hours towards the end of the day, but make sure to get there early and buy your ticket online ahead of time. The line gets very, very long. If you are there to see Guernica, you will not be disappointed. It gets very crowded around the art work during the free hours, I don't know if this is the same during the paid daytime hours, but you might want to plan your visit according to what you are interested in seeing. There is also a nice courtyard in the center of the museum that has some interesting sculptures.

Esperienza fantastica: What can you say that hasn’t been said about this Spanish landmark of a museum. You can lose yourself in the galleries spending hours going over such amazing artwork. My husband and I decided to get the Art Walk which pays for three museums in one price. That was worth the ticket which lasts up to one year. Perfect for holiday vacation.

Esperienza fantastica: I mostly appreciate the details of having enough chairs and relaxing space to calmly look at and see into each of the pieces to hear what voices invoke on us. Very kind staff compared with other museums even on hours for free entry. You can even book the free tickets online.

Esperienza fantastica: True art pleasure. Superb Picasso, Dali and Miro collections .

Esperienza fantastica: plenty of goofy art for goofy art aficionados like myself What I don’t understand is why the gift shop had merch of René Magritte pieces that they don’t have. I like Son of Man and Treachery of Images but why is there merch of those pieces when there’s like one actual Magritte piece in the museum? Idk If you like Magritte they have Pink Bells, Tattered Skies also guernica

Esperienza fantastica: Fabulous museum. I went to see the exhibition on Spanish Civil War and also the Dali exhibition. Well worth a visit. Go early. There is free entry for a 2 hour period on Sundays.

Esperienza fantastica: Great collection! Some reviews say that there’s no English text, however, every room has a stand by the door with curatorial remarks and context (pink A4 laminated papers ;) ) , so keep an eye out! I personally really enjoyed the juxtaposition of contemporary works and modern and classical pieces and the museum’s critical interpretation of the subject matters. Size wise, it is pretty huge, took me a solid 3h to rush through. I recommend getting the Artwalk pass, which includes tickets to the Prado and the Thyssen. Admission to Reina Sofia is free in the evening, though there is a (admittedly fast moving) queue.

Esperienza fantastica: Highly recommend a visit. I would go everyday if I could. The Guernica is a wonder that strikes you in ways you can't predict. Make sure you give yourself time to move throughout the entire museum. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Perfect for anyone perusing Madrid.

Esperienza fantastica: To see one of the world’s best collections of modern and abstract art, visit the majestic Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía! It is Spain's national museum of 20th-century art. The museum was opened on September 10, 1990, and is named for Queen Sofía, who was Spain’s Queen from 1975-2014. The museum has rare collections of famous Spanish artists such as Salvador Dali and Joan Miro . It is located in Madrid, near the Atocha train and metro stations, at the southern end of the “Golden Triangle of Art.”

Esperienza fantastica: An incredible museum and a must go if you’re in the city. The museum is a bit of a maze but after a few minutes you’ll figure it out. Amazing architecture and of course, Guernica is just a stunning piece of art (and history). Must go.

Esperienza fantastica: Incredible collection of Cubist, Surrealist and Abstract paintings. And of course the centerpiece is Picasso's Guernica.

Esperienza fantastica: It is a very beautiful and large museum. I really liked the expos ( Picasso, Dali, others and a lot of 'Tat' art), because it displays a variety of styles and types of art. It has 3 floors with art and a fourth floor with a panoramic view What I didn't like was the design of the museum, because if you don't speak spanish, you will get a little lost. In conclusion, I really recommend this establishment.

Esperienza fantastica: Massive museum, give yourself plenty of time to explore all areas. You’ll get lost walking around but it’s worth it. Plan your time so you’re there around sunset and can enjoy the courtyard at twilight.

Esperienza fantastica: Grande esperienza.

Esperienza fantastica: It’s always a pleasure to just drop-by and see the museum’s segunda planta collection. Displayed here is Picasso’s Guernica along with other great artists like Dali. The museum has free visit hours which changes depending on the season. Best check their timetable on their website.

Guillermo Musumeci 2 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: If you love modern art, you cannot miss this museum. The Guernica by Pablo Picasso, and lots of artwork by Salvador Dali, Juan Griss, Pablo Picasso, Man Ray and much more. Arrive early to avoid the queues! The gift shop of museum is fantastic too!

Gnanavel Chandramohan 2 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Its really a good museum and they have a variety of collection with temporary exhibition of some arts. There are around 4 flours but only few rooms were presenting the artwork. There is a free entry at specific times as mentioned in their website. You can simply book in their website right before you enter the museum and don't need to wait in line. Btw you are not allowed to take photos inside and they don't even put any big signs at the entrance and apparently I came to know when I clicked a photo.
