🗣️ Museum of Art and Cultural History Marburg: Opinioni

Esperienza fantastica: A real gem among Hessen's rich museum landscape. Finely restored inside and out, the museum is worth seeing in itself. The current exhibition introduces Günther Blau, whose works were previously unknown to me and I particularly like. The permanent exhibition is very well structured and shows a wide range of modern art.

Esperienza positiva: A worthwhile visit with cheap admission. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they like the art on display.

Esperienza fantastica: A beautiful hanging chosen, in a very pleasant place (floor, walls, very favorable lighting)

Esperienza fantastica: Modest in size but very well organized. It offers a good overview of predominantly German art - especially pictorial - from the mid 1600s. To visit.

Esperienza fantastica: An oasis in Marburg! The building looks really good after its renovation, the reception is friendly. Admission is student-friendly. The permanent exhibition contains some important epochs of art history, the length of the texts is ideal for a tour of about one hour. The respective special exhibitions are very diverse in the subject and offer insights into them.

Esperienza fantastica: Very nicely structured museum with themed rooms, it takes about 1 hour to get through.

Esperienza positiva: Una recensione in ritardo e scaduto.

Esperienza fantastica: Very valuable! Wow - wonderful - a wonderful museum in the heart of Marburg, which has just gone through a long restoration process and so the building looks very beautiful and appealing again. At the entrance to the building there is a glass information board "Kunstmuseum Marburg". On the website it is called "Museum of Art and Cultural History". However, it belongs to the Philipps University of Marburg. The museum was founded on the occasion of the university's 400th anniversary, in 1927. There are several tours that are paid for most people; however, the price is more than justified by what you get there! On Wednesdays there is also a free short tour of around 20 minutes with a focus. It is called "art break". Then there are themed tours that take much longer, are paid tours and they are beautiful. One learns not only something about the interpretation of the artworks, but also something about their history. During my last visit, the political background was also explained. Often one can understand works of art much better if one knows the backgrounds under which they were created. Most of the works of art in the museum are pictures, but there are also sculptures, ceramics, exhibitions of old tools and medieval coats of arms. You can also find portraits of old university professors there. I think it's really great that from time to time an artist is invited to give a lecture on his works exhibited there and to answer any questions. You can also book private group tours, which, among other things, explain the history and architecture of the museum itself. - That would be a great idea for a sophisticated birthday party! - All contact information (also for bookings) and tour dates are available on the website. What I find mega-cool is that there is a connection to the KunstWerkStatt Marburg in Schulstraße! Every Sunday, children and adults can become artistically active themselves in a studio room of the museum - they are supervised and instructed by the lecturers of the KunstWerkStatt. This museum is a real visual cultural stronghold of Marburg! The University Museum includes the museum in the Landgrave Castle, which only completes the whole thing. Since the museum in Biegenstrasse is centrally located in the city, it is very easy to reach with almost all bus lines; there is a high-traffic stop directly across the street and another at the neighboring Erwin-Piscator-Haus. By car you have worse cards here - there are no parking spaces directly at the museum - you can try to get a parking space in Uferstrasse or park in the parking garage at Pilgrimstein and walk across. The museum is accessible by stairs, but a wheelchair access ramp has been added as part of the restoration. Due to the cultural, artistic and historical standards, I would like to recommend at least a visit to the museum!

Esperienza fantastica: The museum was modernized in 2018 very successfully. The exhibition features excellent works from the 19th century (for example, artists from the Willingshäuser artists' colony), as well as significant works of the 20th century, such as the artist's. Kandinsky, clover). I was particularly impressed by the collection of the Marburg citizen Hilde Eitel, who represents the international avangarde (for example Fontana, Josef Albers). The museum is centrally located and you have good parking! The visit was a great treat and is absolutely recommendable!
