🗣️ Museo Lázaro Galdiano: Opinioni

Esperienza fantastica: Museo Lázaro Galdiano is one ofthe hidden gems of Madrid. A nice palace located in the mid Serrano street, corner with María de Molina, shows the rich collection ofvaried objects of a wealthy Lázaro Galdiano and his wife, Paula Florido. After a careful renovation, the Museum updated its exhibition rooms. Inside, yu get an idea of how life was for the noblity in XIXth century Madrid, along with surprises like a good collection of Goya's paintings. Take a look to its curious elevator, I love it! They are very active in activities and events, and it's always a good option for an arty Saturday morning, away from the typical places. I good place to discover... And don't forget that faceing the building you have Cafetería José Luis , ideal to make a stop while you sample great tapas.

Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful and wonderfully varied collection

Esperienza fantastica: It's a brilliant museum because even though it's a personal collection the depth is outstanding. I went for the Goya, but spent more time in the other rooms, since even the mansion is a considered work of art.

Esperienza fantastica: It is a museum with very varied elements, paintings, watches, old jewelry, sculptures... and you can see a very well-kept mansion with paintings on the ceilings and wooden decorations that deserve to be seen. In addition, going up in the old elevator with well-kept seats is worth it. I liked it. Outside a small well-kept garden.

Esperienza fantastica: The Lázaro Galdiano museum in Madrid brings together an excellent and varied art collection with works by El Greco, Goya, Zurbarán and Bosch, among others, along with jewellery, bronzes, ceramics, crystals, medals and a wide variety of objects. A very pleasantly surprising museum.

Esperienza fantastica: One of my favorite museums. Varied and full of pieces of exquisite taste. One of the best museums in Madrid and not as well known by the general public as it deserves

Esperienza fantastica: Incredible museum! I happened across it while I was at the US embassy, and was absolutely stunned by the amount and quality of the artwork in there. If you go in the last hour of the day between 2:00 and 3:00 entrance is free.

Esperienza fantastica: Very nice museum to visit both in content and the continent. Rooms very well equipped and with relevant works. The mansion is wonderful to see and allows you to get an idea of the life of the aristocracy/bourgeoisie of the time.

Esperienza fantastica: Spectacular museum palace with a wonderful collection of paintings, including works by Goya and Bosch. Chests of drawers and vintage desks are also exhibited, as well as household items and personal hygiene items. We have missed a collection of fans that the museum has, but they are not on display. The visit is highly recommended and like almost every museum, the store is full of souvenirs that want to go with you.

Esperienza fantastica: It has the entrance plus 3 other floors to enjoy its paintings, sculptures, furniture and curious objects. To be able to see it well it would be like 1 hour and a half together with the outside garden. The only downside is the lighting in some rooms, otherwise we have found it wonderful.

Esperienza fantastica: I liked it a lot. Worth. Normal ticket €7, although as usual there are discounts for large families, teachers or guides, the army, students... It is well visited lightly in a couple of hours. It is the palace that José Lázaro Galdiano, a wealthy and intellectual man, ordered to be built at the beginning of the 20th century to house his huge collection and that of his wife Paula Florido. They are a ground floor and three upper floors full of paintings (several Goya! El Bosco, Madrazo, a small painting attributed for a long time to Da Vinci that makes an impact, and other famous paintings), weapons, varied decorative items, mainly antiques (Romans, Celtiberian, medieval, golden age...). Paula's fans are very famous. The rooms have a super nice decoration and frescoes. ONE BUT, THE LIGHTING: in some rooms the lighting reflected directly on the paintings and you had to move to try to see the work well, it was annoying.

Esperienza fantastica: A magnificent collection of art from very different periods with works of great quality. The living work of patronage and collecting of Lázaro Galiano and his wife.

Esperienza fantastica: Located on Calle Serrano, closes early in the day. The gardens are well-worth a walk, but share closing hours with the museum building itself. The Museo Lazaro Galdiano houses some of the personal collections of Lazaro Gladiano in his turn-of-the-century home, including art from the 14th to early 20th centuries, precious metalwork, a collection of firearms and blunderbusses, carved wood sculpture and engravings, and textiles. Highly recommended. Plan between 90 minutes and three hours for a visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Excellent museum founded from the eclectic collection of Lazaro Galdiano. It offers some truly remarkable pieces, especially paintings, in a unique palatial setting, and with good organization and cataloging.

Esperienza fantastica: A museum on Calle de Serrano, in what was the house of Lázaro Galdiano, a fantastic palace where you can see a varied collection that includes jewelry, paintings by Velázquez, Goya, Zurbarán and other great works. In addition to furniture, sculpture, weapons, books and objects of great artistic value. In my opinion, it would be interesting to include an audiovisual presentation at the beginning of the visit. Still highly recommended

Esperienza fantastica: So far, I have only walked through the gardens because I was passing by and I was curious to go in. What a haven of peace! Looking forward to coming back to see the exhibits.

Esperienza fantastica: Another of my favourite museums for art lovers and located in Serrano street, one of the best shopping areas in Madrid , is one of the best museums in the capital , and yet, little known. The art patron, Don Jose Lazaro Galdiano, put together an impressive art collection from all periods. From enamels to Renaissance jewels, from paintings by Morales, MUrillo, El Greco, Zurbarán to furniture, fans and armaments,is obligatory for art lovers

Esperienza fantastica: Guided tour of just over an hour. History of the building and the family. Impressive collection of pictorial and sculptural works, weapons, kitchenware, crockery, jewellery, utensils of the time, furniture. Highly ornate paintings on the ceilings, door and window frames. Beautiful and well-kept outdoor gardens. Highly recommended and interesting.

Esperienza fantastica: This authentic jewel of Neo-Renaissance origin, located in the unique Serrano street, is home to a unique state museum of private origin, where we can enjoy a magnificent and extensive collection of ceramics, armory, jewelry and where it also houses an important exhibition of pictorial works of El Bosco, El Greco, Zurbarán, Murillo, drawings and engravings by Goya, and a panel of the young El Salvador made in Leonardo da Vinci's workshop. An impressive and essential visit to a wonderful museum that is not given justice or the recognition or merit it deserves in Madrid.

Esperienza fantastica: A small museum but that does not leave you indifferent, a museum to visit when traveling to Madrid. Located in an old mansion on Calle Serrano, in the Barrio de Salamanca, the Lázaro Galdiano Museum exhibits an exquisite art collection that includes works by Goya, El Greco, Zurbarán and Bosch, as well as bronzes, ceramics, crystals, textiles, medals and weapons of extraordinary valor. Apart from his talent for business, José Lázaro Galdiano was a prestigious editor who, between the 19th and 20th centuries, launched the literary magazine La España Moderna. The foundation that today bears his name is responsible for preserving, disseminating and exhibiting his magnificent art collection, housed in his former residence, the Parque Florido palace, which was the scene of literary gatherings in which distinguished writers such as Emilia Pardo Bazán, Miguel de Unamuno or Rubén Darío.

Esperienza fantastica: The garden outside is wonderful, very well kept and has some interesting things to see. The museum is wonderful, in each room they explain everything in detail, in addition to having many objects in each room. To see everything you need at least 3 hours.

Esperienza fantastica: Sublime. If I could give it a sixth star I would not hesitate. The collection is vast, vast, spectacular and surprising. To the paintings of incalculable value (Goya, El Bosco, Velázquez, Constable ...) are added miniatures, watchmaking, jewelery, various furniture, weapons, numismatics, sculpture in bronze, marble or terracotta ... It adds a pleasant staff in which Carlos Cavallé stands out, responsible for the pleasant and very productive guided tour, there is no excuse to visit this great unknown museum.

Ingrida Kniukstaite 2 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: The Exhibition Time and Shadow by Alberto Garcia-Alix and Ángel Haro, although it is short in quantity, it has plenty of quality, the short is very good, do not stop accommodating yourself and enjoy it. I happened by chance and it was a very well spent time! If you can go, don't stop doing it!

Esperienza fantastica: So many years passing by and he had never entered. Surprised and amazed by the number of works of art treasured by José Lázaro Galdiano, a 19th-century Navarrese lawyer who was a collector, bibliophile, art dealer… The Florido Palace (in honor of his wife) is worth a leisurely stroll to recreate in so many Spanish, Flemish, Italian and English masterpieces. Singular collections not only of paintings, but also jewellery, coins, armory, ivories, sumptuary objects... It is fortunate to be able to contemplate such beauty when Lázaro Galdiano bequeathed his collection to the state in the mid-20th century. Essential visit in Madrid.

Esperienza fantastica: A museum that brings me very good memories since I have organized very cool private events within this very special space & not only this is that we are talking about a museum worth seeing, here is an introduction The Lázaro Galdiano Museum, in Madrid (Spain), is a state museum of private origin, which houses a wide and heterogeneous collection, formed with encyclopedic interest in all arts and techniques. This exceptional set, made up of more than 12,600 pieces, was assembled by the collector and publisher José Lázaro Galdiano, who when he died in 1947 bequeathed it to the Spanish State along with his Madrid residence, the headquarters of his publishing house La España Moderna and a library of 20,000 volumes. After the Lázaro Galdiano Foundation was created and the donor's former residence (Parque Florido, in the Salamanca district of Madrid) adapted as a museum, the collection was presented to the public on January 27, 1951. Since then its prestige among connoisseurs has been Widely extended, and its collections are considered essential for studying many aspects of Art History, which is why they participate in both Spanish and international exhibitions. Among his most valuable works of art, the set of paintings, drawings and engravings by Goya stands out, with pieces known worldwide as El Aquelarre or Las Brujas, commissioned by the Dukes of Osuna (1797-1798). Relevant examples of El Bosco, Lucas Cranach the Elder, El Greco, Murillo, Zurbarán, Claudio Coello, Luis Paret or Federico de Madrazo should also be mentioned, as well as a miniature on parchment by Giulio Clovio and two bronzes by Giambologna. But possibly the most unique work in the museum is the panel painting El Salvador Joven, made in Leonardo da Vinci's workshop from a lost design by the master. It also has a small group of British painting, a very rare school in Spain; in fact, the Lázaro Galdiano Museum and the Prado were (until the opening of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum) the only two Spanish museums with a significant collection. It includes examples from Lely (the only one from the 17th century, the others from the 18th), Constable, Reynolds and Romney, to which is added a portrait of the American Gilbert Stuart. The museum was completely renovated between 2001–2004 in order to properly conserve its collections and make the visit more comfortable and focused on the highest quality pieces. Four floors are open to the public, entirely renovated respecting the original ceilings and carpentry. COLLECTIONS Especially valuable is the painting collection, which includes relevant pieces by great Spanish and European masters between the 15th and 19th centuries. A methodical study of the collection has been sifting through the most dubious attributions, which meant discarding several striking ones, such as that of a young Salvador who was assigned to Leonardo da Vinci during Lázaro Galdiano's life. Although it is not his original, it is very relevant and now some experts attribute it to a painter close to him, such as Boltraffio (attribution that appears on the explanatory cartouche of the work in the Museum) or Marco d'Oggiono, who was awarded in the exhibition Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan for which it was loaned to the National Gallery in London in autumn 2011. [3] The names of Pseudo Boltraffio (a painter active in Milan at the beginning of the century XVI) and Ambrogio de Predis. It is the best Leonardesque work preserved in Spain and its high quality makes it in high demand for exhibitions in other institutions, such as the one mentioned in the National Gallery or the one that was held in Italy on Andrea in three venues (Mantua, Padua and Verona). Mantegna and his time (Mantua, Tea Palace, November 2006 to January 2007). Medieval Spanish painting has a large repertoire, with several works of reference. A Self-Portrait by Pedro Berruguete continues to receive divergent opinions from critics regarding its authorship. It is surpassed by several tables that Lázaro collected cheaply when they were despised as an artebarbarian.

Esperienza fantastica: It is one of the best museums of private origin in Madrid. The building is splendid, the collections of paintings, jewelry, furniture... impressive. Magnificent floors. Everything is very well exposed. The garden, I would like it to be mine. It currently houses the PHE 21 exhibition by the artist Isabel Muñoz. As there will be thousands of photos on the net, I will leave you the ones of things that have attracted me.

Esperienza fantastica: This museum has a nice collection not just of paintings but also furniture examples and accessories of different decades. The friendship of Lázaro with Goya helped him to have a nice collection. 4 floors building with nice music and entertainment events and Masterclass and nice garden in Serrano street.

Esperienza fantastica: One of the ‘hidden/unknown’ treasures of Madrid. The question should not be if to visit this place but when. The ground floor displays some art but should not be the center of your visit to this museum. The main reason to visit this museum are the first and second floor. The ceilings on the first and second floor are absolutely amazing and so is the art displayed around all floors.

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic little museum with a collection of art and artefacts covering jewellery, painting, sculpture, cloth, table wares and more. Roughly arranged by periods or origins, with occasional contemporary pieces thrown in, which really highlight how bad contemporary art is. Just joking. Kind of. It’s free in the last hour, and the building itself is amazing. Well worth the visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Truly beautiful museum, a bit off the center so it's much more quiet. you can enjoy works of a few great masters,.almost on your own. It's also a good size.you can see the whole place in a nice visit. Beautiful little gardenn as well.
