Esperienza fantastica: One of the best museums. Great exposition, very clear and easy for understanding + the museum building itself is a unique piece of architecture

Esperienza fantastica: Wonderful museum. English explanation at every part of the exhibition. This is a must see in Puebla.

Esperienza fantastica: Museum covers about 8 different aspects of baroque period (architecture, theatre, music, etc). Very immersive. I appreciated that everything was translated to English

Chris Giles 1 year ago

Esperienza fantastica: A world class museum. Unmissable if you have even a passing interest in the Baroque influence on art, architecture, music, clothing etc. The building is fantastic and the presentation of information is imaginative and exceptionally clear, in Spanish and English. The guards are way too fussy, but that seems to be normal in Mexico. Don't let that put you off going.

Parcheggio in loco gratuito.

Esperienza fantastica: Very good very clean when I went it was free security everywhere. Very much about Spain and works from the church obvi there are a few paintings from Puebla. You can go if you speak English but a lot of the exhibits are in Spanish. There is parking on site when I went it was free.

Esperienza fantastica: I had no idea what Baroque was until I visited this museum. The staff I spoke with had excellent English. A lot of the information is also in English. Probably because I was the only visitor I felt the staff were watching my every move. Definitely worth a visit.

Esperienza fantastica: It’s another must visit in Puebla!

Esperienza fantastica: This was a fascinating insight into the baroque period and the importance of it remaining today in Puebla, México. The museum is usually interactive, but for Covid safety currently not interactive, but still a fascinating walk through history, not just Mexican, but European too. A beautiful museum, well worth a visit, I would highly recommend.

Esperienza fantastica: Interesting building - the were two exhibitions when I was there: a permanent and a temporary (Da Vinci). The permanent has a lot of audio visual content - but also physical artefacts. Doesn't take too long to go through. If on foot, there is a nice park behind the museum and a path that extends along the river all the way to the ferris wheel (Estrella). Free entry on Sundays - like in many museums in Puebla.

Esperienza fantastica: A highlight of Puebla. Don't miss it. They won't call you a taxi to take back to Centro though. Luckily a 5-10 minute wait will allow you to flag one down on the roadside.

Alfredo Medina Jiménez 3 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing world class museum. 7 permanent Baroque exhibits and 3 temporary exhibits the rotate independently. Spectacular architecture of the museum itself. A must if you are in a Puebla and the price is approximately 5 dollars.

Esperienza fantastica: Most beautiful museum that covers culture, music, art, religion etc from the Baroque era. Everything is very much organized and carefully placed in the museum for our pleasure. They also integrated the use of the latest interactive technology to add to our learning experience. This museum exceeds all expectations. P.S. Nov 30 2919. The new governor plans to destroy this beautiful museum with cheap street art and take away baroque art away from it due to a tantrum he's got going with the previous government that created this amazing museum. Just the other day he held a Lucha Libre match on the atrium and mocked the arts by displaying Lucha Libre paintings with baroque flair. Go see this magnificent museum before it's too late.

Esperienza fantastica: Museum covers the history art , math, music and sculpture of the Baroque period. Unique building design. One floor of exhibit halls (7), and an upper floor with a cafe and degustation fine dining area. Worth an hour and a half. Only 80 pesos entry cost. Cold inside but ample opportunity to go out tp warm up.

Esperienza fantastica: This is a must go place when you are in Puebla. From the architectural design outside, to the exhibit halls, this place will amaze you. The designer Toyo-Ito is a world known architect and did a great job on this museum.... is not an overwhelming place with thousands of pieces, but the displays are beautiful and all the halls have a different theme from music to architecture to sculpture to interior design to painting to writing. The model of the city and the big screen above it showing the interior of the each illuminated building is great and makes you want to visit each place in the city I liked the interactive screen which explains the music in detail. The exhibit with the dressing fashion of the era is great and we liked the really ornate lady's fan. The use of mirrors to ease the viewing of the ceiling art is something that we haven't seen before in any museum. We couldn't try the restaurant because they were not open for main lunch and we were ready for something else than coffee and dessert. They even have an exhibit about the development of the design of the museum by Mr Ito. There's so much to learn in this place and even the origin of the name Baroque is a surprise for many.

Esperienza fantastica: So much history in this museum. You can learn a lot and view some incredible paintings dating back 100s of years. I would recommend going here if you're in Puebla. It's free entry on Wednesdays.

Esperienza fantastica: This is a world class museum. The building was designed by the very creative Japanese architect, Toyo Ito. The walls are curving, creating a beautiful, sensuous, gentle movement that carries through all of the exhibition halls, as well as in the extraordinary water features. The collection is substantial and exquisitely displayed. There is a lovely, very elegant restaurant where you can savor the very finest in traditional local cuisine. I think I had the best mole in all of Puebla here. Please don't miss this great treasure of the enigmatic, incomparable & deeply interesting Puebla.

Esperienza fantastica: This museum has the most courteous staff I have ever met. They open the door for you when you arrive a leave and they are helpful in finding your way around. The outside grounds and courtyard are worth visiting in themselbes.

Esperienza fantastica: Such a wonderful museum! I loved it!! The architecture is amazing. it takes you from room to room, making a smooth transition between the exhibits. It incorporates a lot of technology so you can enjoy and understand the pieces better. The permanent exhibits are full of information that will certainly help you enjoy the baroque art a lot more.

Esperienza fantastica: One of the best designed museums in the world. The exhibits cover music, art, books, and architecture from the baroque period. Don’t miss the “Forbidden/Banned Books” explanatory book. Give yourself about 2 hours to see everything. (February 2019)

Esperienza fantastica: I love this museum! It is really aesthetically pleasing, it even has a restaurant on top! The galleries are really well presented with interactive exhibits and areas to become hands on with the art of the time. One of my favorite areas of the museum is the visiting gallery areas. They're always changing which keeps the museum feeling new with every visit. You won't regret a visit to this museum!

Esperienza fantastica: A modern museum with amazing use of technology. The touchscreen interactive displays give you additional info on paintings, sculptures and artwork and the miniature view of the Puebla town is one of the best things I have ever seen in a museum. Giant displays and detailed artifacts give you a true impression of the history of European influence in Mexico.

Esperienza fantastica: While many of the permanent exhibits feature the baroque period, the temporary exibits did not. There was an amazing Salvador Dali exhibit while we were there. And, curiously, this museum which features all things baroque, is one of the most extroardinarily modern buildings that I have seen. There are also an incredible arboretum and gardens worth a stroll. You really shouldn't miss the experience of visiting this beautiful museum while visiting Puebla.

Esperienza fantastica: Fabulous new museum of the baroque period. It is a ways out from town, so you do have to make an effort to get there. The setting of the museum is beautiful. The architecture is breathtaking and interior light atrium spaces ( look up) enhance the exhibit spaces. Make time to eat at the restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is wonderful, and the view is breathtaking. And it is actually a good value for the money.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing Museo - do visit!! Interactive and interesting with lots of multimedia.

Brennan Rosales 5 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: As a museum it's great, extensive exhibits with a lot of information and videos to watch to get a fuller experience that connects the art and artifacts to the people and places in the baroque world. The Toyo Ito designed building alone is worth a visit. The architecture is an absolute show-stopper. Go on a sunny or partly cloudy day to take incredible pictures. The store is excellent.

Esperienza fantastica: While i'm not fond of the architecture style featuring massive, erratic curves of windowless concrete, i had to admit that the rationale described by our tour guide was a good one. The Japanese architect contracted to design the building of Puebla's Baroque Museum did indeed manage to deliver on his goal; a concrete canvas the polar opposite of baroque style. Against this built environment the intricate, gaudy, regular, mathematical detail of the art is seen in high contrast. Others surely have more educated things to say about the art; i enjoyed more of it than i anticipated, and was brought to tears in the music gallery listening to baroque music from the Americas. Overall i highly recommend the museum, however one thing stood-out even above the music: The restaurant! I haven't eaten such an elegant meal anywhere onshore! From the appetizer of quelites with chipotle sauce to the exquisite herb, garlic, butter, or sourdough rolls, to the soups and entrees, everything i sampled was worth raving over, and i sat at a table with five others so i got to try a lot of the menu. Finally, like the gracious tour guide we had for the museum, the wait staff in their restaurant was both kind and professional. The price point was similar to the moderately priced restaurants elsewhere in Mexico, not cheap nor expensive. Shear delight. I wish i had a romantic prospect to take there for dinners.

Esperienza fantastica: Great attention to detail throughout the entire exhibit. The unique construction of the building allows the rooms to flow naturally from one into the next. Short drive (20-25 minutes) from downtown.

Alejandro Villanueva 6 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Well designed museum that truly builds upon different museum collections to present an overview of baroque art in various manifestations. Rich in interactivity and colours, it mixes simple explanations with useful visualisations. Something to be particularly praised is the inclusion of multilingual descriptions in every room: they can be found in Spanish, English, French and German with unusual quality.

Esperienza fantastica: Nice museum which explain different aspects of Baroque movement in music, painting, theater, literature etc. The restaurant is also worth a try.

Claudia Lozada 6 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: The architecture of the building is outstanding! The museum is huge, but there are little spaces to rest with great views, like a small lake. The museum is interactive, with a lot of screens and information, it also has a great guide to learn more about the culture and places to visit in town.

Santiago Pintado 6 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: The building is awesome, everything is amazing. Really interesting museum.

Ellen Woodward 6 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: I hadn't read reviews of the museum so had few expectations. The experience was a delight with multi-media displays of all things baroque -- which significantly deepened my understanding and appreciation of a period that employed motion and detail to produce drama, exuberance grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, theater, music and clothing. The museum touched on it all. .

Esperienza fantastica: The place is a marvel! no wonder it has won awards! the museum is outstanding! The permanent exhibit is awesome and the way it is presented is the perfect way to enjoy it! Do not forget to go out unto to courtyard to see the fountain. The temporal exhibit are likewise wonderful, not to be missed!

Esperienza fantastica: This is one of the best museums in Mexico. You cannot leave the museum without being impressed and having learned a lot. I was especially taken aback by the beautiful model of Puebla's city center, it is so detailed and amazing. The building itself is gorgeous as well. This place is definitely a must if you are in Puebla.
