Esperienza fantastica: Very beautiful. Be sure you go at a time you can tour the whole building. We could only look at the middle part. Everything else was closed.

Esperienza fantastica: Gorgeous museum. Unfortunately I couldn’t see the entire museum due to staffing issues.

Esperienza fantastica: Very nice collection of art owned by high society families of the 18th and 19th centuries. On a weekday it seems general entrance is 3 EUR, including a guided visit. Don’t rush thru it. It has a lot of information and art pieces to see. The garden is quaint but peaceful with century long magnolia tree right in the middle of it.

Esperienza fantastica: Lovely museum that houses paintings, furniture and decorative art from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Sited on a former 18th century palace, the ground floor holds the reception, gift shop, coffee shop and a cute garden. In the second floor scattered along the rooms is the museum itself. It's not a big museum so you can finish the route in about two hours, depending on the attention to the details that you like to devote. Don't forget to visit the cute small garden in the inner courtyard, next to the cafeteria where you can take a soft drink and relax. The cafeteria and garden can be visited separately from the museum.

Esperienza fantastica: A small museum that, despite its size and the rather confused disposition of its colleection, will delight many visitors. After walking through its rooms, visitors will come away with the impression of having experienced, through the eyes of a member of the petit bourgeoisie, part of the agitated and tumultuous history of 19th century Spain

Esperienza fantastica: It´s a beautiful museum and very well maintained. A disappointment was that only half of it was on display as they were short-staffed. Neverthless, it´s certainly worth a visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Somehow, it was a flashback to my Grandma's ol' homestead! Also loved the kendama. People sure lived in style back then.

Esperienza fantastica: Beautifully laid out. Full of treasures. Gives a great idea of life in Madrid for bourgeoisie at that time. Helpful staff. Gorgeous little cafe with tables outside in the garden.

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic old house converted into a museum. A peek into how (rich) people lived back in the day. It's been a museum since 1924 so even that adds to its charm. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Lots of interesting artifacts to see. Loved it. Well worth a visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Lovely place. You can find a little free exhibition at the entrance and the official exhibit is 3€. Totally worth it. You can also stop for a tea and cake at the coffee shop located on the main floor.

Esperienza fantastica: I went here for a cup of tea before lunch and I loved it! It’s so charming and elegant, a great place to have a snack with friends, classmates or coworkers.

Esperienza fantastica: Exceptional view on 19th century aristocratic Spain, some really interesting pieces, a few very valuable works of art, and some truly amazing historical artefacts are housed in there. Seeing the handgun Spanish writer Larra committed suicide with alone is enough reason to visit this museum. The whole place is breathtaking and well worth a tour. It’s free entrance, and guide brochures in several languages are available.

Esperienza fantastica: As a person who loves this epoque, I have a great experience. For everyone, it's just a good view how the peoples live looked like in that time. Free guide in espanol and english, lockers, very nice and helpfull staff.

Esperienza fantastica: One of the most beautiful museums I have visited so far. Not only that the exhibits are interesting, you can even feel the atmosphere of the palace almost as if you actually traveled back in time. The staff is very nice and friendly here and you can see that they actually enjoy what they do. I also appreciate the nice guide you can borrow and read. I'm not a fan of those audio guides for mass tourists. Plus, the entry is free for students which is amazing. And if it isn't enough, you can end your visit in a lovely calm garden with s coffee.

Esperienza fantastica: Love this place! You feel like being in a Palace. There is a small shop and also a lovely cafeteria with a small garden. Worth to have a coffee/tea in the garden if weather permits. Highly recommend to everyone!

Esperienza fantastica: Free entrance still a lot to look around. Building is beautiful too. I happened to run into it cause it was close to where I stayed. Overall it was a pleasure to find this museum

Susana Herreros 5 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: The museum has a very impressive collection of romantic paintings. You can see many portraits on the monarchy at that time and also the common people's life in Spain and Madrid, which I found even more interesting. This place also had a huge collection of everyday objects of that time, of course only from the upper class, very nice and quite interesting. Such as children toys, coutlery, latest, lots of furniture... Including a bidet/toilet from Fernando VII. We didn't have the chance, but apparently they have a very nice café bar in a indoor garden inside the palace. Try to find it!

Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful museum with paintings and objects from the era in the various restored rooms of this “typical” 18th-century villa. The garden is a lovely garden place for a romantic glass of wine or tea and cakes. it also has wonderful temporary contemporary installations like Juan Millás’ “A grove of trees from a point of view” (until January 2018).

Patrick Love-Vani 7 years ago

Esperienza fantastica: Worth checking out for the garden café alone. Quiet escape from the bustling city streets. Go early to get a bench around the fountain, or a table under tree cover. Free entry to the shop and garden café, admission to the museum was €3.

Esperienza fantastica: Free entry on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Remember to drop by Cafe de Jarlín...
