La chiesa stessa è anche fortemente decorata e assolutamente meravigliosa. Consiglio vivamente di passeggiare lungo il canale per raggiungere questa chiesa, ne vale davvero la pena!
Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful church and museum.
Esperienza fantastica: Magnificent works, to visit absolutely
Esperienza fantastica: In its current form, the complex on Potterierei consists from left to right of the former infirmary (1) with access to the hospital, the church (2) and the Chapel of Our Lady (3). To the east, in line with the infirmary, are the monastic buildings, including the old kitchen (4), the refectory (5) and the archive room (6). The more recent buildings at the back are part of the retirement home. 1. Former hospital ward and current museum Building of two + six bays and two storeys under a saddle roof (ridge direction perpendicular to the street, Flemish tiles). The current appearance is the result of a restoration in 1880 by architect K. Verschelde (Bruges), including placing a large pointed arch window, adjusting the cross windows and reducing the original three-light above the gate. Anchored brick gable + wall braids covered with a natural stone frame. On the left, imposing chimney shaft with tracery decoration. Round arch door in bluestone frame with profiled course, on pedestals. Neo-Gothic wing door with richly elaborate needle. Fanlight with sandstone lintel and sill. On the left a rectangular window with iron grille and natural stone cross frame under a built-in stone cartouche with the year "1643" Large pointed arch window with three lights and tracery on the upper floor, also the result of a restoration of 1880. Above it, natural stone annual stone "MVXXIX". Above is a small rectangular window with a bottom and top sill of sandstone. On the right smaller pointed arch opening with split window and simple tracery in the arch field. In the top gable stone and small rectangular window. Side wall finished with a quarter-hollow profiled frame. Rectangular wall openings. Lower windows - originally with a spherical frame - are set in niches with chamfered reveals and covered with an alternating pointed arch and a basket arch. Upper windows with 18th century joinery. Rear facade with traces of three-part pointed arch niches and a central blind oculus. Interior. Ground floor divided in two by a long corridor on the south side, indicated on the plan of 1661 as a pre-hospital. Preserved beams, in the infirmary, planked in the course of the 19th century. The upper floor, with its large restored pointed arch window, is divided into six cells for the nuns and a wide corridor. Plastered ceiling applied in 1784-85. The attic has a 13th century truss truss dated 1276-1296 by dendrochronological survey. Roof construction consists of thirty-four pairs linked at the top by two rooster beams. Four scissor trusses with purlins were placed under these tracks in a later phase. Impressive fireplace construction in the attic. 2. Church In its present form, a single-aisled church rising to 1359 with a nave of three bays with a five-sided choir closure of one bay. Slate gable roof with ridge turret. Anchored brick gable with a number of construction joints, leaning stair tower with light slots under a brick tent roof on the south side. Current appearance determined by the reconstructive restoration by architect K. Verschelde in 1880. Pointed arch door in natural stone profiles with crowning crock. Bluestone niche above the door with an image of the Holy Spirit. Left rectangular window with natural stone lintel and sill and closed by thief irons; in front of it a wooden shelter covered with slates. Above it a high pointed arch window with three lights and tracery, a gable stone and a hatched pointed arch niche. The inscription: "ANNO DOMINI MCCCLIX + CONSECRATA" in the crowning stone refers to the dedication of the church. Covered pointed arch niche in the top.

Esperienza fantastica: This extremely beautiful, rather small church was one of Bruges' care institutions in the Middle Ages. All this under the care of the Augustinian sisters. There is a wonderful museum to discover. But the church is also a jewel of art objects. For years, when there were still many nuns, all the silver and copper work was polished every week.
