🗣️ Museo de Menorca: Meningen
Stumbled across the museum by accident but we all thoroughly enjoyed looking fraught the past few thousand years of Menorca's past.
I really liked how the museum is organized. I saw those referring to the Talayolitic culture. Small explanations around the objects that are shown, at a suitable height and placed as a very pleasant aesthetic. it is noteworthy that it also had things for children to see and touch. I found the temporary exhibition around food very interesting
A good sized Museum to visit in a morning. The entire history of the island. Very visual.
A journey through the history of the island in all its areas. Perfect to spend a good afternoon soaking up history. They have the first floor for variable exhibitions, I coincided with an exhibition on Menorcan food that I loved since I am fascinated by the gastronomy of this great island.
Fine building, lots of interesting facts about Menorca
Very interesting, a mandatory visit to learn about the history of Menorca from prehistory to the present. I also liked the archeology area so that the little ones can learn.
Highly recommended if you want to know the history of Menorca price €4
It is a wonderful museum in a unique building and with a unique location. Yesterday I was in a scheduled activity; A dramatized visit represented by a theater group in which for an hour and a half it toured the museum representing the fundamental historical milestones in the history of this island. It was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to everyone. If they have children or young people, they will see how they enjoy it more than with a small plasma screen, no one will be disappointed and that it culminates in a magnificent sensory experience -I cannot do spoilers- that will make you take Menorca in your heart. My congratulations and thanks to the museum staff, and the cast of actors, all very professional and friendly. A true gem.
Great museum to learn about the very interesting history of Menorca. Highly recommend the visit

Absolutely fabulous lovely receptionist guy and helpful, beautiful museum, only 4 euros a adult and children free, really interesting to learn the history of menorca, toilets located on both floors and a cafe.
It is a small museum but it takes a historical tour of Menorca, from prehistory to the present. The cloister, although very restored, is beautiful. The museum material is well cared for and there are many things for children. The price is 4 euros and it is not usually very crowded.
Very nice museum located in a former Franciscan convent. Prices: €4 but free on Sundays. There are 3 levels with permanent and temporary exhibitions. One of the rooms present the places to see on the island in a very playful way. Count 1h30 to 2h if you want to see everything
Very good experience if you want to know a little about the history of the island...from the first settlers to the present day. Spacious rooms and corridors, good lighting... It has a small room with a coffee machine to take a break and a shop at the entrance. The personnel is very friendly.
Beautiful building, well laid out exhibition, very informative. Came away knowing a great deal more about Mahon and the fabulous island of Menorca
I would recommend leaving the visit to this Museum for the end of the island vacation. Because when seeing the history, heritage and customs of the island of Menorca in this two-story building, one leaves with the complete vision. It is highly recommended to start the visit with the viewing of the 10-minute film on its content. And as an outstanding piece, the capital of the early Christian basilica of Fornells. Also the models of archaeological sites.
It is very well cared for and the explanation of the exhibits is very good, a good place to spend a pleasant time and understand a little more the passage of the different dominations that the island of Menorca has suffered. The cloister is spectacular, very well preserved and cared for, and the church attached to the San Francisco museum is also a must-see, without forgetting the magnificent views of the port of Mahón that can be seen. Fully recommended, visits on Sundays are free.
Beautiful setting, good exhibition, exciting themes. Very cheap at 4 EUR. Top marks!

A fantastic museum full of the history of the island of Menorca. It gives a very detailed look into the islands history and inhabitants over the years along with some fascinating artifacts.

V interedting museum with interactive things for children. Well worth a visit.
Wonderful museum with brilliantly displayed collection. It's recently been refurbished after being closed for a couple of years. A very good display of artefacts that is well laid out in terms of the history - chronologically from talayotic and carthaginian to roman and byzantine times, islamic menorca, aragonese period anf balearic kingdoms, through to spanish unification and then british times - I didn't get further towards more modern era. You can spend hours here there's even some interactive stuff for kids. Also it's in a lovely building with a courtyard - an old convent or monastery I think.
Brilliant museum, we spent a good 2 hrs in there and there's a beautiful church nxt door.
Fantastic museum spread over 3 floors well worth visiting . When I return 2019 I will return to finish off seeing all the exhibits which I couldn't view on this occasion.
Well worth the visit. Our 2 children loved this place.
Lovely collection of artefacts and things to engage children
