Very nice interior visit

Small museum inside the cathedral of Girona, where the piece that stands out the most is the tapestry of creation without any water. An 11th century work of art, unique in the world, measuring 3.58 x 4.50 metres, only comparable to Queen Matilde's tapestry. Although it is really an embroidery, it is called a tapestry because that is how these works were called in the Middle Ages.

It is a reference museum in Girona that I have visited on several occasions; but today I was pleasantly surprised because 1-visit flows have been modified. Entry and exit at different locations. 2-recommended itinerary - cathedral - cloister with access to special area for the stained glass recovered from the SXIII-XIV and treasure (area with the most special and emblematic pieces of the Treasury) 3-the treasure has been completely restored in areas explaining the Romanesque and Gothic legacies. Now much more sober and more spongy where the most special Beatus de Girona pieces, Umayyad caskets, Charlemagne, Gothic paintings and goldsmithing and Tapestry of creation shine. 4-exclusive space where you can see the Tapestry of Creation. Includes an explanatory audiovisual space. 5-shop at the exit very varied. Splendid to go back!!!j

Impressing the carpet of creation

Game of Thrones, Bridge of Braavos, Arya Stark looks at a huge sculpture located at the entrance to the port of Braavos.

It is worth going just to see the Codex of the Blessed and the Tapestry of Creation. Very friendly staff. They let us stay a little after closing time so we could see the explanatory video of the Tapestry of Creation.

unavoidable visit

You must visit the museum and especially the Tapestry of Creation. It is worth standing in front of it for a while, contemplating it and looking for all its symbols and meanings in each quadrant. Inside the church, in a side chapel, there is the Romanesque tomb -or tomb- of Countess Ermessenda de Carcassonne.

Beautiful and great city, small but with a lot of history and very beautiful, highly recommended
