Just amazing! The view and building is just so beautiful that we don't even have paid attention on the arts.

My first time here, this was an EXCELLENT museum. Spanning hundreds of years, there are five floors of outstanding art, including a VanGogh! There's something here for anyone's taste in art, from traditional oils of the 1700s to ancient works to modern day. Some sculpture, glasswork, lithography... This is a must see when visiting Ithaca, put it on your list.

Go to the fifth floor for the view of the city of Ithaca and Cayuga lake. Wonderful scenes!

I love this museum so much, to the point where I go here every couple months or so. The exhibits never get old, and the areal view of Ithaca on the top floor is gorgeous. The light show is quite stunning as well. My favorite part is probably downstairs which has all sorts of ancient artifacts from Japan. The museum as a whole makes for a memorable experience.

Very nice museum. As the cherry on top, the views of the college campus and surrounding landscape from the large windows in the top floor are spectacular!

I have visited several times over the years when I was on campus with 4-Hers and sometimes during on campus sessions. Staff is polite and knowledgeable. Collections rotate, so be sure to check ahead if there is something you want to see. Works are from worldwide artists and cultures and not all fit what be considered art by most. The various collections extend throughout the genres.

This place makes me feel so happy! I am from NYC and desperate for culture here in Ithaca. When I discovered the Johnson, my heart was thrilled. The art that is housed at the Johnson is so impressive. And the building, designed by IM Pei, is art itself! This is a must see if you are visiting Ithaca!

This is such a unique museum. It’s small but for a small town it’s really big! For me it’s the perfect size, it’s small enough to see lots of stuff without getting bored they also have some really unique and impactful art pieces. Also, for one of my classes we went to the very top for this presentation and it was a BEAUTIFUL view. If you could get an event there it’s perfect. They also have the star sky exhibit thing where you can definitley have events.

It's free and the exhibits are top-par! I particularly enjoy the Southeast Asia section, but to be honest I return to the museum mostly for its its views of Ithaca. If you're needing inspiration, go to the upper floors and look out the window!

This is a really outstanding art museum. The architecture is a little outdated and feels odd on the campus, but it’s definitely standing out. Inside the museum I’m not in love with the layout. It’s very easy to get lost in the maze and the stairwells are weird. But that’s all perfectly okay because the range and quality of the art is incredible! After a few hours I’m still wanting to stick around a revisit a few pieces.

I love it! Worth every bit of the travel out here from Ohio. If you are planning to go, make sure you set aside at least a few hours. As for me, I could have spent the whole day! There is so much to learn and experience there, truly amazing. I will be returning the next chance I get!

This striking art museum, designed by the brilliant I.M. Pei, is on the campus of Cornell University and is well worth a visit, primarily because of the stupendous views available from the higher floors. Parking is a little tricky as there is not a full lot. You will want to download the Parkmobile app to help find a good place to park and to pay for your spot. Once inside, the modest art collections are well laid out and easy to navigate. When you make it to the upper floors, be sure to search out the tremendous views and outdoor deck to really soak in the natural beauty of the location. There are no food options in the museum, so plan accordingly when it's time to refuel.

Big collection with regulat changes in collections. So visiting at different times leads to different experiences. Some really old pieces of art. The detailed descriptions of some art pieces is very useful. The building itself is artistically designed and quite beautiful to look at.

Absulety a must if you are at Cornell university. It has the best views with the most magnificent collection of international art. The entire building is an adventure of culture and art. There is free high quality coffee at the lobby. Make sure you can spare a couple of hours at the exhibit.

If you are an architecture enthusiastic make sure to the this place. Exhibition is pretty boring, but the building is a concrete piece of art. Designed by starchitect I. M. Pei the building stands out above all of Cornell old buildings. The inner space and the details are fascinating. From the 5th floor you’ll have a panoramic view of the entire city of Ithaca.

Very well-maintained and well-curated museum, and a great way to spend a couple of hours. You wouldn't necessarily know from the outside how much is inside--it looks smaller than it really is. They have a wide array of exhibits to interest pretty much anyone. Make sure you check their hours before you go, as they are not open every day.

A small and intimate museum on the Cornell University campus, the Johnson is surprisingly packed with interesting pieces of art. I love the permanent pieces of contemporary art, but am also impressed with the visiting and temporary exhibitions. The Asian collection is especially strong. Well worth a visit!

We really enjoyed this place. No admission. It's large. Took us about an hour and half to look at everything.

This world renowned Museum located on the Cornell University campus has one of the most breathtaking views list of Cayuga Lake. The collection of art and constantly changing exhibits makes it a place to visit time and again. Parking is convenient across from the museum.

Great museum. Tons and tons of artwork for no admission cost. My only complaint is the limited parking out front, which only ~11 spots. Horrible if there are none open and if you're from out of town and have no idea where any parking on Cornell is.

why not go on your day off someday to the museum? This one is another one you can learn things about and have a good place to take your children. There's nothing more exciting as a kid then touching exhibitions you're allowed to touch and seeing things you'll never see anywhere else. It really teaches you your value as a human being and the in print that you leave behind can make a difference to Future Generations.

Wonderful free museum with a varied and interesting collection to check out if you're looking to while away a few hours on Cornell's campus. The upper levels also offer a splendid view of the surrounding Ithaca landscape and nearby Cayuga Lake. And the kicker is it's always free--can't argue with that!

Awesome museum with a variety of artwork. Totally free, all you pay for is parking. Also from the museum you walk across the street and there is no suspension bridge over the Gorge, so you get to see both in one trip. I love the mixture of ancient and modern works in this Museum, and there are plenty of descriptive plaques the help out if you don't have a lot of knowledge of artwork.

The Johnson Museum is a a gem in Ithaca. Famous and fabulous building, great permanent collections, great travelling exhibits, currently including Matisse collages from his book "Jazz". I am big a fan of Asian ceramics, and they have a very nice collection of Asian art in general. Be sure, if you are able, to take the stairs up and down instead of the elevator, makes the building itself an intimate art experience that you don't get to have at large museums. And the views of the lake are integrated into the structure in a way that is obviously intentional, and are part of the art. Fabulous.

I love the Cornell Johnson museum, and it is always free to visit during visiting hours. The exhibits rotate often though some remain stable. They also often hold events with different interactive sessions. If you arrive at the fifth floor you are met with a breath-taking view of Ithaca and Cayuga Lake. A must visit if you are on Cornell's campus!
