Museum of Applied Art Cologne
ℹ️ Informatie

🗣️ Museum of Applied Art Cologne: Meningen
Great collection of top industrial design pieces in history and a great time line exhibition.
I visited the design exhibition, here are a few exhibits that I particularly liked. Recommendation!
Brilliant central exhibition and the temporary Laif exhibit was a very thoughtful and well put together sequence of pictures
Lovely!
#VALUE!
Gorgeous Mercedes). 40 years of history was interesting. The story goes until 2021, but already now there is 2022 about the war in Ukraine.
Just a bombsite! Very interesting (now only 2 floors) - exhibits of industrial design of furniture, radios, telephones, dishes from different times - super. museum inspiration
#VALUE!
Very nice museum with beautiful design. Radio's, chairs, and top pieces of top designers from the twentieth century.
Super
Nice clean museum with plenty to see. We took out time here and spent a few hours looking. Easy to guild and explore. Thank you.
Small museum with a really nice collection nestled in back of a large church. The contextual descriptions of the permanent collection were excellent.
Best museum in Cologne! Very nice collection and super helpful staff. Will be expanded in the future with an Art Nouveau floor.
Well worth visiting; good price and exciting exhibition.
#VALUE!
Very interesting collection of artifacts, perfect for Sunday afternoon.
Nice Art Place
Love their MC SL300
If you fancy applied art, this is the place for you.
Over 500 pieces in their collection! An absolut must visit for anyone who lives or visits Cologne. If you are a design- passioned person/student/Designer and even if you're not- make sure to add MAKK to your Must-go places.
Very good collection of design & great temporary exhibitions
Top
Permanent exhibition? No. No collection. No stock. So all is changing often and they have to beg for any item to be exposed here. And this is performed in an outstanding way. Many fabulous exhibitions have been composed over the years with item that have not been released before or never been relinquished to third parties. On my Top list: Miro, infinite jest, German PoP Art,
The museum covers a huge range of Art & Crafts, which alone are worth seeing. Had a great (free) guided tour which put a lot of the works in the context of their time.
Fabulous museum, wonderfully curated. Take your time to visit every room and every space. It's worth it.
Good place for a weekend visit. I went to see a temporary exhibit and it was worth it. There is also a small cafe on site. Easy access by public transport. Lockers available (50 cents deposit) and bathrooms in good condition. The main permanent exhibit is currently closed for renovations so check the website ahead of visiting to see the temporary exhibits.
Nice.
very nice design collection
First class museum. Highly recommendef.
Amazing modern museum, with interesting exhibits housed in the perfect venue. The staff is extremely friendly and the tickets are quite inexpensive.
Interesting, and beautiful
The main exhibition was closed but I saw a lovely small Bauhaus exhibition and the building was lovely.
Simle and Atractive
Interesting venue3
Awesome! Huge collection of art from more classical ones to a crashed cars :) English speaking personnel
fantastisch
I visited the design and art exhibit and found it excellent. A wonderful narrative told by examples of products produced around the world over many decades.
Leuk
Fab! Current exhibitions: Andy Warhol's Pop Goes Art (focus on his work on record labels and the music industry) and 34xDesign with some exquisite pieces from the world of design spanning the last seven or so decades (think Egg easy chair). 34xDesign is free, Warhol is 6 euro or 4 euro for students and well worth it. The gallery itself is beautiful and spacious. There is no photography allowed inside. Have 50 cents ready for the locker. You can download an app guide and use their Wifi, ask for password at the reception. Overall: definitely go.
Nice museum with great expositions
I'm looking forward to visiting new expositions. It's a cool place, there's a café, a locker for you to, store your stuff and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The Museum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK, until 1987 Kunstgewerbe Museum, then Kunstgewerbemuseum Köln) shows what defines the human being in its external appearance. In addition to jewelry, porcelain, weapons and furniture, the museum also includes architecture. The history of the museum dates back to 1888, when a group of citizens joined to form the "Kölnische Kunstgewerbe-Verein" to found a museum of applied art from the Middle Ages to modern times.
Good exhibitions and permanent collection
Totally awesome, is not too expensive and they have a lot of different art pieces, included Van Goh!
Great to see all old things.
MAkk is a wonderful museum. It contains many examples of beautiful design & craft from approximately 15thC onwards. There is wood, ceramic, all kinds of metal precious & not so, glass etc. Give yourself enough time to be intrigued & take it in & enjoy it. There is a pleasant cafe for a reinvigoration of the senses. Favourite exhibits: a Riemensneider, a carved wooden powder box & Art Nouveau furniture.
The exhibition is very interesting. You will find any kind of objects from hundreds years ago. Artists from all around the world (Asia, Germany, France, England, Austria, etc) I would not recommend the gaming exhibition, it's expensive and not very interesting.
Nice èvents
Good mix of old and new...permanent collection is a fun time travel trip while modern design concepts are introduced. Bonus: was here during one of the Cologne museum days so it was free!
Ok
