You can spend a whole day enjoying art

It takes a day to fully visit the exhibition. You don't eat inside. There are numerous paintings and ... floors. The audio guide doesn't explain that much. You can enter without a pouch or backpack. In any case, the paintings of Bruegel the old and the young, that is the son who lived by copying his father's paintings, and Bosch are unmissable.

The tour will allow you to see the evolution of painting from the primitive Flemish to modern times, highlighting great names such as: Rogier van der Weyden, Robert Campin, Pieter Brueghel, Anton van Dyck, Rubens, Jacob van Ruisdael, Jacob Jordaens, Rembrandt or Jacques-Louis David. (the famous "La mort de Marat" is fabulous). In addition, it allows you to discover new lesser-known but high-quality artists, such as the sculptor Mathieu Kessels or the painter Petrus van Schendel. We are looking forward to visiting the Fin-de-Siècle too!

Very nice and large art museum. If you like sculptures at least a bit, paintings are the perfect place for you. Very large, the ticket costs 15 Euro per adult 5 Euro per student. I recommend it very much, I spent about 3 hours there

As Belgium's premier art museum with an incredible collection of arts spanning a period from the 15th to the 18th century. The museum was founded in 1801 by Napoleon Bonaparte.

A good museum with interesting pieces. It has the right dimensions for a museum, in a couple of hours you have it done. It doesn't take long, and you don't feel like you've been cheated on the ticket. Super attentive staff.

Beautiful museum with top works by (among others) Rogier van der Weyden, Petrus Christus, Gerard David, Hugo van der Goes, Jeroen Bosch, Quinten Metsijs, David Teniers, Antoon van Dijck, Jacob Jordaens and Pieter-Paul Rubens. You look out your eyes!

Excellent art. Need some time, but fast travel can be done in ~1:30 when you have a big list for the city break. If you can spend even 2-3 hours, because it's a top 5.

Magnificent museum with exquisite art works. Old paintings are mostly concentrated on 2nd floor with numerous rooms and, of course, paintings. Definitely worth visiting during your stay in Brussels Belgium, which is not only the European capital, but also a place where the most famous works of art are concentrated.

This museum is fascinating! All the best-known master paintings that we saw in our history books at school are there, it's amazing. A breath of fresh air from the Renaissance and Baroque! I was able to attend the Bruegel exhibition which totally exceeded my expectations. Go there with your eyes closed ... no no .. wide open !!!!

A must see museum if you're interested in Flemish painters. The interior is comprised of large well illuminated halls. Most of the works are in very good conditions.

This part of the royal museums is probably the one which contains the most beautiful treasures and the most beautiful works, and which alone deserves a visit. The lobby is also worth a look.

It was behind these canvases that I came to Brussels ... The Museum of Old Masters mostly presents paintings by Flemish artists ... The exhibition is divided into eras. Canvases of the XV-XVI centuries are collected on one floor. Here you can see the work of the so-called Flemish primitives: Rogier van der Weyden, Dirk Bouts, Robert Kampen, Hans Memling, Petrus Christus and Hieronymus Bosch (The Temptation of St. Anthony). In the halls devoted to the painting of the XVI century, collected paintings of representatives of the schools of Bruges and Antwerp. Beautiful collection. I recommend taking your time and getting to know the story of the paintings, even though there's a big section of religious works that might not be immediately interesting to you- a lot of them have hidden quirks and neat back stories.
