🗣️ Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam: Opiniões
The collection of art till 1950s is especially interesting. Playing jazz is nice touch.
What ever art you like or dislike, you will find really interesting pieces here. Even stuff to play with yourself. The building is a mix of old and new with a nice vibe. Love to be here.
Fascinating expositions of contemporary art. Lots of interactive objects. Quite some rooms where one can sit down and just let the surrounding art to sink in. “Youth” might be the most peculiar yet fascinating exposition I have seen to this day.
Walking into the Stedelijk Museum, I expected abstract art that would be beyond my appreciation. I was wrong. The audio guide was excellent, explaining the art pieces intricately, their history, importance and how to interpret them. I soaked up all the information I could, the museum became more interesting the more time I spent. Art is presented in a fascinating way in the Stedlijk; as an instrument of change, communication, education, and function. The limited exhibition by Özgür Kar was excellent and worth a look and listen in our modern world of platitudes spouted by (anti)social media. It's a jarring art piece and by that I think the artist accomplished exactly what he set out to do. This museum is highly recommended. You might find your own piece to change your perspective or at least start to challenge it
Best contemporary art museum in Amsterdam with a high variety of events (every first Friday evening of the month there is an open event with music and performances). The collection at the Stedelijk is top notch in terms of variety and historical pieces displayed
In my top 3 of museums in the countries I've yet visited. The museum is so big, and all the art pieces are interesting. It's amazing to have a collection of much older pieces and much recents! I've found that the museum was worth my time and money, I've spend a lot of time in it, maybe 2 hours. Also, the audio guide is free, which is amazing! I didn't took one, I was listening to my music while watching all the wonders that this place offers, but I think it's great that it's free. I definitly 100% recommend passing by this museum if you're in Amsterdam.
Great collection spanning from 1850s to nowadays. Super well curated rooms, very nice building and surely not as crowded as Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum.
Enjoyed everything in this visit, especially Sedje Hémon's works from the temporary collection "Abstracting Parables" and Anne Imfof's "Youth" exhibition. The permanent collections had some great works as well. The free audio guides are worth it. Nice giftshop too
A must see museum if you crave for exposure to modern artworks from around the world. Takes at least half a day to throughly see the main pieces while skimming the less interesting ones.
So underrated. Excellent curation, interesting modern and contemporary work. Very avante garde, not kitschy. Great selection of female and minority artists.
Cool museum. I actually got there quite spontaneous and was very surprised about how cool it is. Many video installations that make you think critically about certain topics as well as digital light art. Would totally go there again.
Great selection and diversity of exhibits, no ridiculous booking of timeslots like the Rijksmuseum, and much friendlier staff.
Ok so I'll start this off by saying I am not a museum person and absolutely not art museum let alone modern art. Sooooo my girlfriend was in town and I found my self at Stedelijk Museum this past weekend. It was a wonderful experience plenty of interactive exhibits and pieces that made you think critically. The whole place is perfectly curated. I loved the way the museum flowed. I loved the different media used here and it was so cool to see. The museum was fairly heavy on video experiences which were not my girlfriends cup of tea so I ended up enjoying it more in the end.
A wide and inspiring range of art in a bright and modern environment. Bright and friendly staff. Opened my children's eyes to how important context and series is to understanding particular works.
Great place if you're interested in modern art. Fantastic collection by some masters. And great expositions on some lesser known yet powerful artists
A very creative museum that has different rooms with different themes. It has both paintings and visual arts. Dont forget to read the comments written on the wall of each room to explain the art.
Well presented history of Amsterdam, with many original paintings and artifacts. Lots of narrative in English and Dutch. Includes some very recent developments such as gentrification of North Amsterdam. The cafe in the central courtyard is pleasant for a drink after the visit. There are two other, less impressive, museum in the complex which used to be and old hermitage.
This is the finest art museum in the world. If you are visiting Amsterdam and vanGogh is sold out, this museum is steps away, and will not disappoint you as an alternative. My highlights were the performance art and contemporary art sections. Also a strong emphasis on the slave trade and particularly the Haitian influence on Dutch artists.
Lovely museum, really enjoyed the pre 1950 collection. Will definitely recommend getting the MuseumKaart if planning to do more than 3 museums in your visit
Worth every penny and likely the best art museum I've been to, and I've been to many. A lot of interesting topics explored, in addition to some fantastic curation.
Very nice art and exhibitions. I wish I spent more time here.
One of the best museums in Amsterdam. If you are a modem art lover, indeed you should go there!
One of the best modern art museums in Europe. Great collection with pieces from Picasso, Chagall, CoBrA, Yayoi Kusama, Christo, Kandinsky, Warhol, Matisse, Yves Klein and many more. So impressive! A good visit requires minimum 2 hours for the 3 floor museum.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Amazing museum with lots of incredible artwork. Theres is a free audio guide on both English and Dutch. I arrived at 1pm, and it was near empty. By three o'clock it was a bit busier. A staff mentioned this is normal, and that many people go after the Van Gogh museum. So if you come to Stedelijk, earlier is better. This place is so much more enjoyable than the other museums which are crowded with people
An excellent, mid-sized museum you can get through in less than 2 hours. Free self-guided tapes are available before each wing. We went when Maria Lassig’s work took over one wing and it was pretty impressive.
This museum was a bit surprising, because the modern art is not that easy to understand but after the visit we ended up loving it! AMAZING! I am so happy that we visited this place because we had the chance to see beautiful art pieces and amazing works!
I’m not a huge fan of art nor do I know much about art but my partner and I decided to visit the Stedelijk Museum when we were visiting Amsterdam. In the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam you can discover and experience modern and contemporary visual art and design. We were really impressed by how well everything was displayed and how clean the museum was. There was plenty of staff walking around and there was lots of art to see and a lot of variety. We used the audio guided tour to help us understand more about the art as we walked around. The artworks and exhibitions change regularl on the ground floor and first level of the Stedelijk Museum. We thoroughly enjoyed museum, especially having a go in the pinball wizard lab!
Really enjoyed this museum! We were offered a lovely tour by these two young boys who were part of the group - Blikopeners, which is a bunch of 15-19 year olds that provide super interesting interpretations on the art pieces and guided tours that last around half an hour - personally, I think most museums should offer this service! It was a free tour, although I was willing to contribute a donation but wasn't asked for any (also, you are paying around €30 entrance fee which is quite a lot for a museum anyway). Super happy I visited the museum and wish I had more time to spend there.
Favourite museum ever! More correctly called an art gallery in my opinion, as it is always changing with amazing artistic exhibits and having visited 3 times now I have been very impressed with their variety and consistently impressive artworks. Interactive exhibits too make it feel different from a normal art museum, and lots of groundbreaking art and science go into the main exhibits.
