Amazing experience into the new media world. Recommend to everyone who likes to understand how humans interact with computers, games, videos and music. Enjoy it :)

The nxt museum was recommended to us by a friend for our trip to Amsterdam. It was very cool and creative, I'm really glad we visited. I liked that you are free to move from room to room and could interact with some parts of the experience, but also I could sit back and observe when I wanted to. I would say that it is definitely worth checking out, and if you do visit I recommend making sure you stick around for a little bit of time in each room. I noticed that some people moved to the next room fairly quickly sometimes as it maybe seemed not as exciting at first, but then ended up missing the best/most interesting parts.

Thought provoking exhibition that really makes you pause and consider – especially with the way the world's going – raises super important questions around identity and opportunity in the virtual space. Jacolby Satterwhite work's incredibleeeeeee.

OMG JUST OMG! Get ready for a very creative and well designed digital experience. I will definitely come here more and the staff were very friendly

Worth the experience. There were 6 rooms in total and all of then were pretty interesting. I recommend it to anyone interested in video installation art.

Immersive, meditative, thorough. Good idea putting 'recommended tome' for each piece which became like mental saunas. Great stuff, worth the pilgrimage.

Typical example of how Google need to give more weight to recent review. Definitely go if you want to fall into the absurd. It's a bit expensive but the most unique Amsterdam museum experience I've had.

Tldr A mind blowing experience, even if the rooms are quite hot. Make sure to go here and collect the NFTs on your visit! Experience: +++ A truly incredible experience.... One which I am still thinking about a week later. This is so worth your time! Take your time on each exhibit, turn off your phone and give it about 1.5 to 2 hours to really immerse yourself. Some of the experiences you will connect to and some you won't, that's okay but give it a chance:) Location: - finding the place did mean going down a few streets but once I had found it, it was amazing Ventilation systems: -- The theater makes use of multiple projectors and they heat up the space. I imagine something could be done to bring down the temperature in the middle exhibits

A must do attraction if you go to Amsterdam. 1-2 hours of pure amazement. You can expect a big variety of Rooms with Games, reactive Screens and a bunch of other stuff inside. Students pay less and the tickets are really worth the money. Will definitely go again when they have a new setup. !! Buy tickets in advance !!

I really connected with the work of Jacolby in the third room. Would recommend to take your time there. The Fractals of Julius Horsthuis are also amazing and work great at the scale it’s projected. Last room by Oseanworld made me smile with it's colours, interaction and playfulness. And although this might not have been the purpose, the transition rooms were probably my favourite. Beautiful visuals accompanied by poems in a most soothing voice.

Sensorial spaces, captivating media, and compelling stories experienced on an insane scale. This is new media art unlike anything I have ever experienced. Normally when I go to art museums they have reserved one or two rooms for new media. It was so refreshing and exciting to visit somewhere dedicated to exploring the future. The current exhibition: Unidentifed Fluid Other bends your mind to explore new realities where digital and physical warp and converge. I took my time to explore each exhibition, I loved Viatrix (the virtual character you may have met in posters across Amsterdam) they punctuated the journey, everything about them was captivating, their glistening skin, their fluid movement and gestures. I really enjoyed visiting the museum with friends as some of the exhibits are super interactive and fun to do together. Especially the last experience where you can play games and indulge in some full on meditation! I would thoroughly recommend the Nxt Museum to everyone, but especially for those who enjoy / work in the creative industries, it is a must, go and visit!

A collection of exhibitions in digital media that is meant to evoke a different reaction and experience for every guest. Not every room/gallery was very strong, but overall it was a great experience. It is highly recommended to understand what NXT is about before going. If it's what you're looking for, it's amazing. Otherwise, you're probably better off watching a more general visual experience elsewhere.

I have been to Nxt Museum twice and I can’t wait to go again. The show is completely immersive. You leave planet earth in the present day and visit a future or alternate version of what we know. Gender and aliens, tech and art all fuse together to propel you from the now time the nxt. I particularly loved the giant multi colour sculpture surrounded by interactive screens and the bean bag and party rooms.

This place is an awesome experience of digital art curated at the highest level, so you can enjoy it both as an obviously modern visual experience for itself but also as a window into the best of contemporary art. My 11 year old really got a lot out of it too - and we got some great memorable photos.

A really innovative and refreshing player in the Amsterdam Museum scene. Also a fun opportunity to visit a bit of Amsterdam you might not necessarily see otherwise: Noord. The ferry goes for free from the back of central station, so it's actually pretty close. It's not too busy in the museum, which is also a great advantage over many of the more classical museums. You have lots of space to wonder around and explore and lie in a beanbag as long as you want, for instance. A unique experience to add to your Amsterdam itinerary.

Very nice experience, but it takes a while until you understand the idea behind it and how it's built up. So take your time to fully understand what's going on and maybe stay a little bit longer in a room, there is no need to rush ^^

Went to the 'UFO - Unidentified Fluid Other' exhibition and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Beautiful, thought-provoking, interactive, fun. Highly recommended.

Realmente vale a pena.

it is absolutely breathtaking, we spent 2.5 hours there and was amazed how more and more captivating each room was. The staff was super friendly too. will most certainly return when the exhibitions get renewed. my advice is to just really take your time in order to experience it fully, which is easy to do since many rooms have beanbags and benches where to sit comfortably

The visit here was a very cool experience as it delivered a good mix of abstract and more concrete Art. I have the feeling there is something for everybody. You should plan in about two hours and take your time for each room.

Very innovative and immersive art where I could spend hours and hours. Make sure you spend enough time in every room to really get into the exhibit. And read the info on the signs - this really adds to the experience, in my opinion. I found one of the rooms especially relaxing. Also: queer vibes

The museum is in the northern part of Amsterdam, but it is worth visiting. The expo they had on when I visited was for Proximity. After they check your ticket, you have access to lockers and bathroom, and the expo itself, which is circuit based. Before each interactive room, you have a presentation/explanation room of what you will be about to experience. Some rooms were cooler, with my favorite being the nxt stage, which is sound and projection on the wall and floor. Really impressive visuals. For the price, I think it's worth it. Staff is friendly.

No entanto, a maioria deles é bem legal e vale a pena visitar.

Well worth the blisters I got from all the walking to get there. TMI? I don't care, I'm fangirling right now. Let's start with the staff, that were nice, welcoming and informative. There was no need for questions, they made sure you know everything right from the start. Now to the thing itself... in short - I was mind blown and completely disappointed when I stepped through the final door, back to the "real" world. I wanted it to never end. I have to be honest and admit some rooms promised more than what it felt like we got, but they were a beautiful, mesmerizing experience nonetheless! Is a once-in-a-lifetime experience? Sure. If you only plan on visiting Amsterdam once. I'll definitely come back next time.

Absolutely phenomenal experience, entirely unique for this kind of museum. Very interactive, extremely immersive and psychedelic like art exhibits, words don't even begin to do the experience justice. Pictures nor videos don't capture the museum very well either, it's well worth experiencing it yourself.

Gella 2 years ago

I think it is a fantastic idea to open a museum focused purely on new media. Highly recommendable. To really get the maximum from the visit - try to interact more with the artworks and be curious - then the experience would be really memorable. As a suggestion - I guess it would be great to see also more starting young artists as well. Overall - great
