Had a great experience being in the landscape that Marit Westerhuis created for her exhibition 'MEGALITH'.

Que grande museu. Ótima arquitetura do edifício, ótima exposição interna e sempre apresentando exposições temporárias interessantes. Eu estava lá para um programa de televisão e enviei alguns artefatos para inspeção especializada

Worth a visit, especially on rainy day. Diverse exposition from 17th century paintings to modern art. Museum has this funky 80-90s vibe, which is unique

A must see if you're interested in modern art and the history of the city. Good starting point of your tour in Groningen. Set on the main city waterway, it's also an interesting building architecturally.

I loved the rooms and exhibits. Even the non-exhibit rooms like the meeting room had awesome decoration. There's a little of everything here and worth checking out. I blasted through in about an hour or so, but you could stay here all day if you want to stare at photos.

Splendid. Really interesting exhibition. Not a single undead. Which was a bonus.

Very nice museum right on the canal. Actually mist of the museum is underwater. The museum is centered around the history of Groningen and it is a mix of old and new art.

Wow what a great museum. So modern and perfect fit for a break of the city. Go through the collection and special expo's. The building itself is already worth a visit and the expo's is bonus. I saw the great JR Chronicles expo which was impressive and worth a visit

I went to visit JR's exhibition. It was a lot more interesting than I had imagined and I am very glad that I went to visit the Groninger Museum for it.

Interesting and varied art collection, and a nice presentation of the city's history. The architecture itself is worth a visit, but what really blew my mind was the touching and powerful JR Chronicles exhibition (in Groningen until 12th of June 2022).

The exhibition for kids in the upper rooms is definitely worth a visit! We had a lot of fun. The construction of the Museum is also really awesome!

GEWELDIG!!!! We visited the museum today when the kinderbiënnale exhibition was still on display. The artworks are amazing. They’re so creative, colorful, and enjoyable and made by many artists from all around the world. For example, I saw an artwork called Memories of Fireflies made by Eko Nugroho, an Indonesian artist. In addition, there are some interactive works that make the visit more worthwhile. The kids visitors surely love them.

I liked how small and manageable this museum was. They had interesting displays. I especially liked the war expedition specific to Groningen. It felt extremely surreal. Would recommend :)

Had the best experience while visiting with my younger sister. Felt comfortable and safe due to security and it was not too busy! Very nice exhibitions for kids and also enjoyable for a grownup. I went on a Wednesday afternoon. Lunch was great!

Where modern coexists with tradition, not in another room but just next to it. The art lives by comparison and that is what this unusual museum successfully does. Fun and knowledge for adults and children as well.

If you are into contemporary are and design this place is definitely for you. A modern exhibition of creative light show is impressive. I've never seen an interactive one like this anywhere before. The restaurant inside the museum is a bit overpriced but which museum cafe isn't. If you have a museum card, it's free to go in and I'd really recommend buying one if you are staying in Netherlands for at least one year. Costs 60 euros, last 1 year and you'll be able to enter A LOT of museums, Castles and other touristic places for free with the card or with as little fee as 1-3 euros (while most of the museums in Netherlands cost 10-30 euros).

It is a magnificent museum with exhibitions changing quite so often. The building was constructed by prominent Italian architect and designer Alessando Mendini and some of the exhibition is devoted to his oeuvre. Besides, there are plenty of modern art and classical fine art refrenced somehow with Groningen. The service here is very nice and you can get a free entrance if you are a student at Groningen. There are also handy workshop areas and a restaurant. In case you have some packs with you, there are free lockers to leave your luggage

Fantastic exhibitions during my visit. The design and architecture of the place itself is well worth the admission. Brilliantly located between the train station and Groningen itself. Great to see such a brave statement for arts and culture being given pride of place.

Each time I have to make an effort to get here from hometown Utrecht. It is always worth it ten times. I love this museum, not only because of the great exhibitions but also the layout. The design of the spaces has been done in such a way that only when you have turned around the corner of the next room, you are immersed in a totally new world compared to the room you just left. Some like the exterior too. I am definitely not one of them. If find it quite disturbing what once was. After entering the building soon forgotten though! Some photo's of the Chihuly exhibition included. Amazing glass art! #chihuly #groningermuseum

I loved the exhibition from CHIHULY. He tried to capture Nature in glass. The staff is friendly, the garderobe is free, and for students of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, entrance is free as well.

Nice museum to go and spend some time there. Exibitions are amazing and all of them are made by a top level artists. The museum itself has a nice and unique structure looking from outside. Definitely worth to visit and explore the the world-class works ❤️

Groninger Museum focusing mainly on art, paintings and jewelry, and a bit on local artifacts as old bibles and archealogical pieces. The building itself is located in the canal, grachts, between the city centre and the central station. Its a new modern building which replaces the old building in the centre. Big variation, the standard collection is including paintings from: Rubens, Van Gogh, Israels and Mesdag. A lot of paintings reveil an amazing story about Groningen, its wealth, development and its history.
