Great experience. Beautiful peaces of culture heritage.
Amazing place! For the price of 1 ticket you can visit two museums.
Fantastic collection, beautifully presented, amazing building. Just go!
Amazing place to explore the world' art.
Hidden gem. Not that busy as two other close museums but with a broad collection of artifacts from Africa, Asia, Oceania and South America. The giant sculptures from Papua New Guinea are breath taking. I also loved the African masks as well as pre-Columbian pottery.
A classic museum, although with very modern technology. There are thematic snippets inserted in the geographical & chronological paradigm. Quiet and relaxed, the staff is friendly. However, the only toilet is on the ground floor. One cannot get lost as there is plenty of signage, which is not the case with the Picasso museum across the street, full of the maddening crowd.
Beautiful museum and very interesting on cultures in Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania
Beautiful museum, free entrance on Sundays
One of the most beautiful collections I've ever seen and very well presented too. A must see if you love ethnic art. The building itself is worth a visit alone too regardless of their collection
Nice museums, about how various cultures developed around the world
I had no idea that the Spanish had indeed travelled and conquered until the end of the world!! Relics from around the world attesting to the neverending hunger of this country's politics for power and domination...
Small but great museum with a nice collection from all over the world. Very friendly staff.
Great museum full of wonderful & interesting items & objects from relating to African.. Asian.. South American & Oceania culture & customs (free on Sundays).
Great collection, beautifully arranged. It's free to visit on a Saturday after 3pm. Articles are arranged by continent they were looted from.
A nice museum, recomendable for children also, there are objects from arround the world. Sundays after 15h it's free.
This is an amazing place, one of the best museums with superbe exhibitions from all over the world. It's not as popular as others in Barcelona, which actually makes it even greater, it's a hidden gem where you can get away from the crowds. I learned a lot about different cultures, I wish a had more time to explore it thoroughly, I think you might need a whole day to really immerse in the history of the artefacts in here
Really interesting museum just opposite the picasso museum. Value for money choice for people that are interested in cultures. It also has a very good interactive room where you can enrich your knowledge in a fun way.It is not crowded, without big lines, we preferred to go there instead of picasso museum.
One of the best museums I have ever been
Fascinating collection of artefacts from around the world, worth a visit, make sure you have enough time to get around the collection
An immaculately curated cornucopia of African, Asian, Oceanic and Mesoamerican cultural artifacts with exquisite descriptions presented within fine architectural surroundings. Worth a visit for those interested in cultural artifacts.
Located just across Museu Picasso, free entry on Sundays, great rare collections especially on the Indonesian section, being one myself I have never seen some of the collections in my own country.
One of the most interesting museums in Barcelona, it is a pity that many people just pass by it without noticing on the way to the Picasso Museum
Plan 2-3 hours to see everything. Very complete and well designed. I'll come back!
There is a long queue on the other side of the street to see a poor exhibition of Picasso, and this is gunny thing because all those people do not realize that the real jewel is here, in the museum of World's culture. The exhibition is modest, but presents the artefacts from Africa, Ocenia, Asia and South America in great manner. You can learn, here the music and learn the culinary tradition... So just to recommend the crowd on the other side of the street - leave the queue and experience something different
Fantastic collection, accidentally wandered in during a Sunday with free admission and spent several hours enjoying the collection. Captions in Spanish, Catalan, and English
A marvelous museum full of different ethnological artifacts that makes you wander around the world and get a global overview of several ancient or distant civilizations. One of my favorite museums in Barcelona.
The museum of culture is a very cool place to explore ancient historical rituals and view the pieces from all the continents. Each floor is dedicated to a continent and they have alot of pieces masks jewelry statues. It was a great musem with lockers and its worth exploring.
An amazing musem with a lot of art pieces from cultures all over the globe. It's not often that you find something like this in European cities. They really emphasize foreign cultures most people rarely know much about which in my mind is a great thing. You can learn a lot here and spend way more than an hour if you want to learn more details about everything even though it's not a big museum.
A really lovely museum, beautiful collection. One of my favorite museum in Barcelona. Great for kids too.
Great collection and exceptional presentation, all in a really interesting building that is also a part of the exhibition itself. Especially expressive pieces from Africa and Oceania alongside not much less remarkable from Asia and other parts of the world like Indonesia, Philippines etc. Well worth the visit.
A large selection of interesting artefacts from America, Asia and Africa. Extremely well presented. If we had stayed longer in Barcelona we would have visited the museum again and again.
Our original intention was to go to the Picasso Museum which was literally on the other side, but we got discouraged by the long lines and ended up here. And we are so happy for it! It's not the biggest museum but artfully selected art works from all over the world outside of US and Europe are well laid out. It really gave you a sense of depth and breath of artistic expression from all over the world, which may have even influenced the esteemed artists in the West. Another big plus: we literally had the museum to ourselves. Great respite from tourists. The descriptions of work in Catalan, Spanish and English.
Very interesting museum with large number of object from all over the globe. With children is can be entertaining too although they will not be able to visit everything. It has like 33 rooms or more
Beautiful place to visit to see something different than everything else in Barcelona's museums. And since it's mostly empty it makes it a nice relaxing perusal after visiting the Picasso museum.
Like a lot of people we ended up here because the line to the Picasso museum was so long but it was worth it. Great layout of historical artifacts from around the world. We got in free at 3 pm but you normally have to buy tickets. Gift shop doesn’t have much but still worth seeing if you have an hour to spend.
Fantastic! A great surprise and one of the highlights of my trip to Barcelona. Well planned visit path with three floors. Every single object well exposed with enough information, an many interesting notes describing behauviors and daily life. Amazing collection about African art, specially masks. Lightning very well planned as well. Just in front of the always crowded Picasso museum. Should be here lines at least as longer as for the neighbour museum but surprisingly not. JUST VISIT IT!
Great museum, covering all world cultures and art. Excellent museum building as well.
This museum allows the visitors to see a great collection of art of the original cultures in Africa, Oceania, Asia and America. Many pices have a beauty that remains during the times. It could be very useful to take inspiration for indoor design or other artistical activity.
I was with daughter 8 yo, and that was great! Staff is very friendly, the building itself is old and cozy, there are many interesting things, photos, audiofiles in exposition
Great place, the arts exhibited in a generous building/interiors. African, Oceanian, Asian, South American pieces. Visit the Egyptian museum also - you'll combo tickets.
I went there as an alternaive to the Picasso museum, where I was put off by crowds of people, and never regretted it! The exhibition is small, compared to the Musée des Quais Branly, for example, but neatly organized! I spent almost three hours there and could stay more, reading all the supporting material and checking the artefacts! Highly recommended!
Beautiful museum located in a gorgeous palacette. It's impeccable and the permanent exhibition is breath taking. We spent two hours there and still couldn't see all of it. Highly recommended
Uno de los mejores museos etnográficos del mundo. One of the best ethnographic collection in the world. Один из лучших этнографических музеев мира
I ended up going here when the Picasso museum was sold out. Admission was free on Sunday which was surprising. I think it is free on Sunday afternoon from 1500 - 2000. Lots of real ancient gems in here from different cultures.
