Museu Arqueológico de Cordoba, Espanha As coleções de exibições de todas as suas épocas históricas e, particularmente, têm uma seção separada de Al-Andulus, onde foram exibidos artefatos incríveis de séculos de regime muçulmano. Situated in the beautiful Palacio de los Páez, a Renaissance building designed by the architect Hernan Ruiz, this museum houses a little known archaeological collection that is undoubtedly one of the best in Spain. Cordoba, which was one of the most important cities of the Iberian Roman Empire, and the largest European capital during the High Middle Ages ( when it was in hands of Moors), is, in itself, an impressive archaeological site that provides wonderful pieces that become part of the superb collection of this museum.

Good museum which is absolutely worth a visit when in Cordoba. Well preserved roman artefacts. Since it is open till 9 p.m., it is super easy to fit in to the schedule. The ruins in the basement of the Roman theatre are amazing ! The coin collection and burial / funerary items are extremely impressive as well.

Este museu arqueológico muito bom em Cordova tem muitas estátuas retiradas de ruínas romanas e palácios muçulmanos. Você também pode encontrar aqui uma recriação do templo romano, cujas ruínas você pode ter visto anteriormente enquanto caminha pela cidade. Também existem bons exemplos de mosaicos romanos e obras de arte islâmicas. O prédio que abriga o museu também é muito bonito e você deve tirar fotos no pátio. Admission was free on the Saturday we went. Not sure if this is normal but was a pleasant surprise. They have an amazing collection of artifacts from all periods of Andalucian history from the prehistoric era, to the Iberians, Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths, and Moors. Most of the information plaques were also in English, which was helpful. Highly recommend a visit here if you are in Córdoba even for a short day trip. Can easily go through in a hour.

An outstanding museum, located in a beautifully designed building and displaying a wonderful range of artefacts from the various civilisations which have, over the centuries, ruled from Córdoba. Displays are beautifully presented, and the star attraction has to be the excavated remains of the Roman Theatre in the basement area of the museum. Great credit must go to the municipality of Córdoba for keeping this superb attraction open during difficult times for the tourism industry. My wife and I were the only visitors during the hour or so we spent there, and it occurred to us that the fact it remains open reflects well on the commitment of the municipality and staff to ensuring that the history of their city remains accessible to those who wish to explore it. So...not only do I recommend this museum very highly, I actively urge anyone visiting the wonderful city of Córdoba to seek it out and visit.

Um museu pequeno, mas excelente, com artefatos bem exibidos e boa sinalização. Certifique -se de olhar para as ruínas escavadas do teatro no porão, banda o pátio ao lado por aquele fabuloso portão Médiéval. E confira a fabulosa grade de escada de pedra no museu.

The staff is very very nice and polite. If you want to know the origin of Cordova, then, it is your place. 60 minutes for visiting is right.

Really good Museum! And on Wednesdays the entrance is free. You learn a lot about the history of Cordoba and how it was in Roman times, how was life inside the houses, artifacts and even some ruins found in excavation. It worth the visit, specially considering that Cordoba is pretty small

Very nice museum, with a lot of interesting artifacts corresponding to the Roman, Islamic, and Christian periods of rule. Bottom level is really cool: a ongoing excavation of a Roman theater. Also, it's cheap! (And free on Wednesdays)

For a free visit, this was well worth the time. Interesting exhibits and quite a lot to see.

We stopped through for an hour the morning we had to leave and it was just about right. Lots of great artifacts and history in great condition in a very nice museum. The old Roman theatre it was built on is very cool to see inside. Highly recommend for something that lots may overlook in the area.

Built on top of the theatre ruins, you can walk through part of them in the -1 floor. In 1 and 0 floor you take a look to the past, enjoying different elements during different periods (coins, sculptures and ornaments, cook tools, weapons...), all guided and explained by text next to the exposition (spanish and english) Recommended

Wonderful museum full of artefacts from Cordoba and the surrounding area covering thousands of years of local history. Roman theatre being uncovered on the bottom floor. Marvelous space.

For a relatively small museum it held many fascinating objects from ancient times. We loved walking through the excavation site of an old Roman theater inside the museum.

Very interesting if you want to understand the history of Andalucia. The fact that it's a small museum actually improves the experience because it let's you enough time to read the exclamations which are rightly dosed.

Really interesting. It's built on the ruins of the roman theatre so you get to go underneath to see them. Also an interesting history of the city.
