Hudson River Museum

Great for the fact it is close, friendly and well done. Beautiful upgrade to the planetarium. Worth the visit and membership gets you reciprocal benefits at Wave Hill and the Bruce Museum (Greenwich, CT). Look up their age specific space shows on their website. Free parking and nice view.

Que jóia perfeita. Fiquei muito surpreso por não ver este museu mais lotado. Mas, no entanto, desfrutava da solidão que forneceu. As peças de arte são uma mistura de antigos (como um tapete matisse e uma peça de Andy Warhol) e artistas muito novos. E eles mostraram muitos artistas LGBTQI+. A estrutura em si é muito moderna, com uma escada de cimento funcionando no meio. Havia também apresentações de astrônomos/figuras públicas locais históricas, como Lewis Morris Rutherfurd e Maria Mitchell. Minha exposição favorita foi a Livraria Mendoza. Apreciou completamente o museu. Há também uma opção para comprar um tour pela Glenview Mansion. Que merece uma revisão por si só. O guia turístico era muito experiente e foi ótimo passar tempo aprendendo e vendo a beleza da vida no vale do Hudson

This is a really nice museum with an incredible location. Unfortunately when we went many of the highlights including the River display and the planetarium we're closed. Hope to return one day when those are back.

Vendido!!! Nós aparecemos para o Glenview Tour, mas descobrimos que há apenas um passeio por dia durante a semana ... isso não disse isso no site .... E estava esgotado tem que comprar com antecedência ... estava chateado e então eles começaram a correr o aspirador enquanto estávamos olhando para a arte-... felizmente pedimos à equipe que o desligasse e eles fizeram ..... tão perturbador .. .... ambos os incidentes. Algumas das áreas também são fechadas, então planeje de acordo .......

Este pequeno museu faz um grande soco estético! Meu amigo e eu viemos para a exposição da primavera Frida Kahlo e isso não decepcionou. Embora eu não ache que não houvesse muita arte, havia toneladas de peças únicas e especiais, todas inspiradas no grande artista. Adoramos particularmente o quão criativamente a exposição foi exibida, e nossa coisa favorita era a exibição de arte interativa vibrante e edificante na entrada onde os hóspedes poderiam compartilhar pensamentos positivos.

Magnificent building and art, hands-on workshops, sweet little gift shop... We also enjoyed a picnic on the grassy hill and open field in front of it.

A true gem in Westchester. Fine A arts, history and science. Exhibitions are expertly curated. The planetarium is state of the art. And its about to experience a modest expansion.

Planetarium was awesome! The person doing the show was great and took the time afterwards to answer my questions and chat.

The planetarium is as awesome as I remember as a kid. Needs an upgrade though. The free shows are a blast and are a great way for kids and families to learn new things and have a good time.

Had a nice time...loved the scavenger hunt. First time visiting this museum outside of the planetarium. It was a good visit especially for my kid's first time at a museum. I can't wait to take him back once the other exhibits open and the planetarium as well.

This small museum gives you the history of Yonkers. Even tho it is small the kids had a great time with the Art displays and Arts and craft. I recommend bringing your kids to the planetarium. They have a toddler session and older kids session.

The shows during the summer are pretty good! Even during pandemic times they never stop giving residents a bit of live music and performance from amazing artists. They followed guidelines and design a smart layout at the amphitheater and took the necessary precautions to make the audience feel safe and welcomed! Love this place. Acted as a chaperone for a school trip here. What a great little museum. The planetarium is fantastic. Seating allows you to take in the show from any spot. Staff were very hands on and helpful to the elementary students. Exhibits were well described and had local cultural significance.

There's so much to see and do at this museum! Even now in these days of social distancing the museum is offering online exhibitions. I recently viewed the Hudson Museum from Home touring its permanent collection. I've been missing my dose of culture but the online collection offered so much for me to look at, enjoy and learn about. I could really take my time with the paintings and even did some further investigation online reading more on Google about the artists and artwork. I love painting, sculpture, etc. and the Hudson River Museum's collections are are phenomenal. They are offering so much online now for families, teachers and art lovers like myself. What a resource to check out online! And when we're able to visit again, I HIGHLY recommend it. The grounds offer breathtaking views of the Hudson. As I mentioned the exhibits are top notch, I especially loved the recent Thomas Cole exhibition focusing on paintings of Catskill Creek. It was accompanied by an exhibition by contemporary artists and their artistic interpretation of the Hudson River. The museum does an excellent job of highlighting contemporary artists as well as creating events that connect with the community. I think it's one of their strengths (among many.) There's just so much to see. The first time I visited I took a tour of the historic Glenview mansion. You'll feel like you've been transported to the Gilded Age. You'll be immersed in the art, furnishings and the history of the time. (I loved the patterned wallpaper - but really everything is gorgeous.) I also enjoyed the Riverama - an interactive exhibit covering the history, ecology and the impact of the Hudson River - it's perfect for kids, though I pretty much loved it too. There's also a planetarium - which is on my list for my next visit. The museum also offers great place to sit and grab a snack and chat about what you've just seen. The staff and everyone I've ever interacted with are incredibly warm and friendly. I've been to a lot of museums all over the world and this is by far one of my favorites!

Always love coming here. A blend of science, art, and natural beauty there is no better place to explore the Hudson except for going out on it. Come for a mix of history and current topics, stay for the views. Can’t wait to come back soon.

Docent in the lunar photography was very knowledgeable. The planetarium show was entertaining and informative. The artwork was nice too, ran out of time. Spent more time at the house, Glenwood, from the gilded age. Nice and not overwhelming.

Looking for a nice and serene day time trip? This place is great for it. They have a small but great collection of fine art and even a planetarium.

Wonderful museum, planetarium and mansion located on the beautiful Hudson River.

Excellent museum & planetarium. They have tours of the Gilded Age Victorian mansion, Glenview, which sits on the property. Check calendar for events that are always going on. Inexpensive, kid friendly. I was just at the "Lunar Victorian " themed event that had shows going on with Steampunk fashion cosplay.

Outstanding for children when there are special art or dance programs. At the moment all exhibits are very interesting. Mia Lin's of the Hudson River, the WW I posters, the permanent collection, especially those selected as inspiring Mia Linn. The planetarium is also of interest.

Great space, great blend of art, science, and history; right size for a great afternoon! Definitely do a planetarium show.

Do easy to get to. There is free parking. The museum has a dynamic director and team that gives the public fantastic exhibits and lots of family programming. Plus there is a small planetarium, a perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Came here for the bank of America museums on us program so it was free admission. Great work here. Try to come for a guided tour so you can understand the art more.

They’ve got a pretty great art collection for a small museum; the best is by Hudson River School artists. There was a cool Maya Lin exhibit when I went too, and the adjoining historic house is fun to look around in too.

The Hudson River Museum and Planetarium is definitely a hidden gem. Its picturesque views allows you to enjoy the museum while over looking the Hudson River. The Planetarium is an added bonus to explore and enjoy.. This location is definitely a must visit adventure!

Hudson river museum and planetarium. Very nice, beautiful inside. The only thing I would want to change is their monotone voice, theres no excitement felt and that makes you sleepy and sleep, is what most people did. Otherwise, beautiful place, very knowledgeable staff.

This is a great little museum which some very nice paintings and exhibits. The attached Victorian house was my favorite. The dollhouse in the mansion is interesting and today's George Washington exhibit was better than I expected. The place is easy to get to, has lots of free parking, and it is not crowded at all. The staff seemed quite friendly too. You will be impressed, and at $6 per person and $3 for kids under 18, you will get your money's worth.

Charming museum—contemporary art, guided age manor house, and planetarium all together in one location. Great views of the Hudson River. Relatively short day trip from Brooklyn.

A great way to learn about other cultures and local artist. I attended the afro latinX Panamanian event and it was amazing!!!

Took my daughter for the first time to see the planetarium and was amazed. Lovely museum and the staff is so friendly. Will be back soon.

This is a great museum with a historic house and planetarium. The exhibits changed every few months, so there is always something new to see. There is also a gift shop, parking lot, and beautiful view of the Palisades.

Visited fir the Neo-Victorian exhibit. By far my favorite exhibit to date. The Glenview house was stunning. Pleasant, helpful staff. Diligent security (which I love.)

Great museum with interesting displays and shows. There are planetarium shows that are great for kids and adults alike. Also on weekends during summer they have free concert/shows at the ampitheatre.

Great museum. Took the kids on a school holiday, saw a show in the planetarium, a couple exhibits, they even had an arts and crafts room set up so we could change the pace a little with the kids. Eat before you go though, there are no concessions there.

Very cool little museum with contemporary local art as well as Hudson River school classics. It even has a neat little planetarium, with an excellent projector and well run showings. Downstairs has my favorite exhibit, a huge table top topographical map of the entire Hudson River with historical charts, maps and ferry schedules from all up and down the river. Gives an excellent perspective on the geography and geology of the region and state.

Come in for the air conditioning, leave with an interactive learning experience. Definitely worth the cost of admission . This is an art science history and Hudson River ecology museum, so after checking out the art, see an in-depth planetarium show and then catch a tour at their historic house! Plus the friendly staff will take care that you, your family and friends are having a wonderful time. You will come back!
